Maybe I'm stupid but I don't understand how this helps with the puzzle. Especially considering the indicators are supposed to be the mirrors mechanisms moving & the buttons opening already.
wSkeever thanks for making this. It never understood what all those clicks were for. You have a TON of fixes i use, this is just one more of them, so thanks for all your work in improving this classic game.
Going to be honest and say that I stopped paying attention to this puzzle years ago. Once I did it in only four clicks and I just remember that order miraculously every time I get to this part. I should probably install this just in case I ever don't suddenly remember once I need to do it.
just push the button till the next button becomes available and then rinse and repeat.
People commenting like the problem with the puzzle is that's "too hard" when the real problem is that it makes no sense. How is pushing buttons until puzzle solves itself a satisfying solution. Can *you* explain what the buttons do based on the vanilla game?
Here's the reasoning. Millenia ago, it went something like thiis... No one: ... Mzark: I want my sophisticated Elder Scroll browser to be simple enough for a Nord to use. Dwemer Engineers: Got you fam
Wow this is an amazing idea wSkeever - much more satisfying letting my dragonborn feel like they actually have a puzzle to solve & can understand whats happening (Kinda). I cant wait for them to see and be dazzled by your display help - I for one really appreciate this for role playing reasons & feel satisfied youve actually had a hand in its delivery. To make things even more confusing there are actually arrow marks on each ring that you can line up so it does look like that would be part of the solution & Ive spent ages in ye olden playthroughs trying to make it make sense as a puzzle before giving up & button mashing - so sad they left it as they did.
They may have intended for it to be but never implemented it, this is another thing i always wondered about, never really made any sense Just push the buttons as they become open, not the kind of secuirity for an elder scroll would imagine
I suspect there may have been some initial ideas behind the buttons that never made it past the planning stages, because honestly, nothing about the button pushing ever made sense, nor were there any real clues as to a pattern. Thanks Skeever for making it at least seem to be sensible.

Just being there using the lexicon spawned via console doesn't work
Kudos to you! Endorsed!
