I just started playing your mod last night after discovering it for the first time on Nexus. So far I am very impressed with your work. Now to an observation. For many years I have played through both of the Rigmor mods (unable to grow tired of her character development). Listening to Astrid's idle comments regarding her history on Roscrea has actually started me wondering if she could be the little girl described as the friend of young Valdr Septim mentioned in Marc Dodd's Wulf Journals. In his depictions of the young boy (also born on Roscrea) who would grow up to be the Dragonborn he tells of a young girl who was Valdr's best friend as a child. I think it would be a great coincidental tie in between the mods. Regardless, with Astrid's comments mingling with the lore ascribing the Dragonborn's birthplace, I feel I am going to have a blast with your mod! Many thanks!
Make sure you have any spells disabled and not equipping any weapons. In any case, you don't actually need to fight her. You can refuse without any consequence.
This quest is really buggy for me and I think she's broken. I had to setstage to progress the quest to completion after turning her down for a fight. Now she won't move no matter what I do. She just stands there. I try resetai, kill command, disable and enable, blowing her a way with a shout. She won't move.
Sooo I she teleport us to the forest when we are about to get married and once thats done I am completely unable to move. I can still talk to her and all but I cannot move nor use anything. Is as if I was stuck on a cutscene
Edit: Nevermind I just used enableplayercontrols and it worked lol
I was curious about something, you strongly advocate not to use AFT because Astrid has her own framework, but I wonder what would AFT break ? What is so critical about it ? Because I recall adding her by accident in a playthrough, and nothing seemed off afterwards.
I see Well from some further testing I may have found some issues to back up the "DON'T USE AFT" as it does look to f*ck up the framework on the other followers managed by AFT, Astrid tho doesn't seem to suffer at all (Weirdly) from it. It almost looks like when using AFT on her, the mod fails to recognise any other followers as such but only properly list Astrid as a Follower from then on. Quite funny & peculiar.
The mod has been great otherwise. I love the VA and the whole playthrough so far but I'm sorry the whole extremely insanely stringent criteria for the romance questline is really absurd. I've never seen a follower mod with such an anal level of requirements for romance. I had to waste half my day and losing hours of progress just so I could restart that dye quest all over again, all because of that ONE very vague dialogue line that somehow for some unknown reason, leads to an entirely different outcome. And you not only need pick a very very unnecessarily precise set of lines for the Dye quest but ALSO need to have somehow encountered the "glacier line" before that, before the freaking Dye quest even began which also requires extremely precise dialogue choices.
This is no longer an RPG. It's just poor linear quest design. Why do I even need to hear that glacier line for as a prequisite?? Cant Astrid just mention it herself for the quest? Why do I need to ask Astrid on what other ingredients in order to prevent her from running off? Is she insistent otherwise and if so, why's there no persuasion dialogue anyway?
The whole prerequisites makes no sense and seems very unnecessary. If the mod author is reading this, please I implore you to change this whole quest design for romance. It is completely contradictory to an RPG when choices are no longer freeform choices but precise senseless choices just to shoehorn you into another uncertain direction. In a proper RPG for romance, you simply need to pick the right dialogue lines for flirting/approvals, not some very singular precise dialogue line. I'm sure the vast majority of people here all share the same infuriating sentiment.
Thanks for the reply. Was the criteria changed recently? Because in your article written here, it's said the glacier line is necessary for the stroll quest to begin
Or was my comment misintepreted? I meant that in order to begin the Stroll Around Skyrim quest, you'll need to hear the glacier line. And the Stroll quest is required for romance
It hasn't been changed. If you read the article again, you will see that it says that the glacier line "becomes available later". It is not required for the dye quest, nor the stroll quest. It is only of relevence to romance. You just need to keep talking to Astrid, even if the lines repeat themselves, until the glacier line comes up at some point. The significance of the glacier line does not become apparent until near the end of the last quest (retrieving the fleece).
Strange though. How come I cannot get the Stroll quest to start then? I completed the dye quest after finding all items for her and I only got the altruistic dialogue option and that's it. Then I was fast-tracked to the Letter quest
I've seen a couple of other people say that they only got the altruist line. I don't know why it does that. Unfortunately, as soon as you use that line, it shuts you out of the stroll quest.
Author, can you send me guide how to not lose romantic quest of this companion? Where this guide,i end all her quest to last finale and now she stand only my friend and say me that i married, but i am not married...

This is not true. The dye quest doesn't require this line. The conditions are following:
1. Have at least one question about herself and at least one about her homeland being asked
2. Agree to find all ingredients
There is no other condition. Only in this case you'll be able to show you interest. Looks legit, doesn't it?
