You are unable to harvest the Soul Frags from the dragons, if you call them all at once. You cannot harvest as long as the other dragons are alive. By the time you get them all dead - 1/2 of them are GONE ( disabled or whatever ) and you are thus unable to complete that part of the Quest with Option A.
so in the description I mention the new mask is not identical to the old one, as you can swap between this mod's version and the vanilla version at a tanning rack. the vanilla version will do all those other things you want it to.
as for your other issue, I'm not sure why their corpses would be disappearing at all in such a short amount of time, that's not normal skyrim behavior and it's not anything from this mod that'd be causing that....
This is not at all lore friendly, Konahrik is not a really priest is just a name and a mask that the priest gives for another priest in time of crises.
We literally know nothing about Konahrik, that doesn't matter he couldn't be a real priest, there's actually a real chance that he could've attempted something similar to what miraak did and failed.
or the mask was originally for Miraak, if we are going by the name of the mask alone, than Miraak isn't really his real name, the priests take on the name of the mask they were given, so it's possible with that logic that the priests take on the name of the mask.
all speculation of course, it's fun to think that this is the case, but who really knows, i do however like the idea that it could have been a forgotten or unknown dragon priest.
i actually wrote a story once involving that mask when the last dragonborn uses the wooden mask to travel back in time discovering a whole new skyrim within the Merethic era just before the rebellion took shape, so the player could see what it was truly like back then and how things really played out.
i wanted to do a mod for that story, but i never finished writing that story, but if i did there would be a lot less people fighting dragons in the beginning as many of the humans were enslaved by the dragons, it was slightly before the uprising and most cities were small hamlets and most of the ruins were being built and were in better repair, i wanted to tell the story of how the 3 hero's of soverngard brought on their war of to the dragons with the help of parthurnax, but that kind of mod would require lots of editing of vanilla voice lines including parthurnax miraak hawkon gormlith, and figuring out how they got in possession of the elder scroll that shaped the time wound.
still it would have been a massive undertaking, but maybe if i just focused on the dragon story that it could be done, but again, i never did finish my story. i kept writing alternate versions of the story and couldn't stick with just one story like i had originally planned.
Dragon Priests were actual people who worshipped the dragons. I assume that their current names were not their original names but rather changed in relation to their masters.
I'm so confused when people type nit-picky lore stuff like this in the comments. Like, what do they want? Is the mod author supposed to just delete their mod just because it's not completely lore friendly? So weird. This particular poster seems very persistent about it too since they posted about this twice lol
To be fair, I don't think there is any known lore about Konahrik. We can infer that the "names" of the dragon priests probably weren't their actual names, which I believe is part of what you're referring to. There are two theories that make sense. (1) The masks had the names and the priests adopted that name once they rose to the position of dragon priest (like the 00 agents in MI6, it's a rotating position and the name or title gets passed on to the next person to step into the role). OR, (2) the priests chose the name themselves according to their past (for example, Ahzidal means "bitter destroyer" in the dragon tongue after his family was slaughtered at Saarthal and he got his revenge on the elves with Ysgramor). As far as we know, none of the ancient Nords, even in the dragon cult, named their children using the dragon tongue. You can probably assume that Miraak (meaning "allegiance guide") isn't even that dude's real name.
Konahrik was the "warlord," or the leader of the dragon priests (it's assumed by some, and that's the theory I'm most likely to believe). This is why you have to defeat every other dragon priest before obtaining the ultimate mask, Konahrik, which basically means you're the baddest b*tch, and YOU are now Konahrik. Additionally, it's supposed to be the most powerful mask in game, and we DO know that the priests were granted their masks (most likely by the dragon overlords), which makes me believe the theory that Konahrik was supposed to be the most powerful priest.
Personally, my favorite theory is that Vahlok ("guardian") the Jailor was at one time Konahrik (hence why you never get a mask from his lich body), but he gave up the title of Konahrik to rule Solsteim and become Miraak's jailor. I played it as my dragonborn was his reincarnation, and I had lots of fun with it. Made the Dragonborn DLC way more interesting to me, since TLD essentially does "the Jailor's" job by stopping Miraak from returning. This also makes sense if you believe the theory that maybe Konahrik was only ever named to lead the dragon cult's armies in times of war (ie. Miraak's rebellion and the title "Warlord"). But then, who was Konahrik during the Dragon War? That could still be Vahlok, but while he was battling Miraak, literally ripping Skyrim apart by separating the island of Solsteim away from the mainland, Alduin was battling the Nord heroes. The time scale lines up since Miraak mentions that Hakon, Gormlaith and Felldir sought to 'use' him to 'deal with Alduin' and says that he could've defeated the World-Eater but 'chose a different path' when you battle him. Don't know why I have this attachment to Vahlok, but it's worth noting that he was one of the only benevolent rulers among the dragon priests (excluding Otar the Mad before his... well, madness).
There's another theory that Shalidor was Konahrik, but I'm not sure if I buy into that one.
I personally find the lore of the Elder Scrolls incredibly interesting, but I'm just one of those nerds who will debate for hours about Middle Earth history and mysteries. It's enjoyable, and I'll read every book in these games for the heck of it. You could probably spend hours reading on forums dedicated to discussing these topics. The question is, did Bethesda put in as much effort as we are trying to piece all this together? Probably not, but it's something to pass the time until ES6.
But there's lots of theories out there! You may prefer another one, but this mod definitely seems like an enjoyable story to play. Lore friendly doesn't mean it actually happened, it just means it COULD have happened according to the information we DO have! :) All that to say, great work, mod author! I wish I had even a fraction of your skills!
As a champion, Konahrik is the weakest of Dragon Priests for me, I use the Real Bosses mod, which significantly increases the strength and life point of Dragon Priests (about 20k life points and huge injuries). It would be nice if you would consider making a hardkore version for players with strong characters to make this final challenge SCARY. Currently, he can't do anything to me and I kill him in a minute.
I'm considering making an update with an MCM that will let you configure several factors of this mod, including Konahrik's health and the chances for each of the mask's various effects. probably won't be for a while though.
in the mean-time you can click on Konahrik with the command console open and type setav health X with X being the desired health value. his default should be around 2,000, so setting to, say 20,000 will give him 10x as much health and hopefully give you enough of a challenge. if not, set it even higher!
I checked and I have some insights :) Everything works great... but...
Earlier, when he had 2k life points, I killed the first and was reborn 2, then after killing the third was reborn. Now I set it to 2000% HP and he had 39k life points - but there was only one. In the meantime, he summoned three times: atronachs of fire, ice and storm. I don't know if it was intentional or something broke? I set his health regeneration to 40% and additional combat effects. Unfortunately, the fight with him still wasn't very demanding, even though I don't have a very strong character yet. I have 800 damage, 1100 points of armor, resistance to all magic 50%.
If it's not a problem, I am still asking for the HARDKOR version :)
Just before that you could see the next stages, and now at 39k points of life, it seemed to me that there was only one stage :)I thought when his life would drop to 4k - he would renew his whole life - and he would only renew part of it, and that's why I thought something was not working properly.
P.S. Normally I have the form: 1300 damage, 1500 armor, and 100% resistance to all magic and thanks to a mod like Real Bosses - every boss he upgrades - is MEGA hardcore - the weakest dragon priest Krosis kills me for a hit :)
I was reminded that his frost atronachs had much more damage than him, so maybe he could summon them more often, especially during a long fight (39k life points) :)
you're probably using other mods that buff the vanilla atronachs somehow, as by vanilla calculations and even with default health konahrik would be much more more powerful

Never mind, I think I understand that this is NOT the Konahrik Bust Mask - but a different one??

alternatively, could there just be the boss fight/quest with an option to disable changes to the mask?
Please tell me where in the lore it actually says that.
Thanks for the mod OP, loved it!

but I assure you this mod is 100% lore-friendly, Serendal's ""lore"" is pure fan-fiction

also 800 damage is VERY high, I can't imagine a single boss in the game being a challenge for you at that rate
