Hello, dax thx for the mod im using eldegream modlist but im using ps5 controller, the d-pad dont work so i tried with a xbox controller and still dont work, i dont understand if i need to put some favorite in group 1,2 ecc. or something like that can u explain how to do use the favorite keybind
Can you help me. I literally can't get any of the controller binding mods to work. I feel like I've done everything right. Deleted that custom control binds whatever in the skyrim se folder, installed using vortex, pressed y to reset my keybinds. Still nothing.
In MO2 you can easily check which mods overwrite which in 1 click, not sure if Vortex has that same option. Hopefully somebody uses Vortex and can help you.
Hey Dax, i wanna something easy, its possible to change parry/block from RB to LT, and strong attack just long pressing RT as it is on vanilla? I tried doing myself but with no luck
PS: Also back button, is supposed to be the map, but in my case is to wait/rest
Turns out it was user error! lol I forgot to reset the controller setting in game. I do have one question tho' ... Which button is used to recharge an enchanted weapon?
Doesnt seem to work via controller. LB switches ordering and R3 gives inspect view. No worries tho. I can switch to keyboard and mouse when I need to recharge enchantments. Solid work!
Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to see if I can maybe find a better key for Recharge. Same as shout is vanilla keybind but due to shout being a weird keybind it stops working.
It will make it so pressing LB in inventory enables charging. If an item cannot be charged, LB functions normally. I will test it some more but I will eventually push it in next update if it's all good, along with a Tween Menu change I'm working on. Thanks for the feedback!
I've had better success with seperate power attack than one click power attack. They both do similar things. Can I use that instead of OCPA or is it a hard requirement?
Do you have other mods installed? As mentioned on the modpage, this setup requires mods such as MCO, One Click Power Attack, TK Dodge, Dual Wield Parrying installed.
hey just wanted to let you know, you can now install the controlmap (right one for your game version) + the predone ini files and you're good to go. Unless you need something specific changed like a mod not covered by this controlmap, you can just start playing right away
I couldn't install TK Dodge why i'm not sure. I'm using Pandora not Nemesis. I installed TK Dodge SE and RE but didn't work. Therefore I installed The Ultimate Dodge Mod and with your preset when I press 'B' on my gamepad it doesn't dodge, only i can dodge with L3 button. How can I solve this?
I have no idea I have never used The Ultimate Dodge Mod. You'll have to find where in that mod the hotkey for dodge is used, and change it to B
Btw there is a TK Dodge patch for Pandora somewhere, which is probably why it didn't work for you. You need it. Use Nemesis if you want to just use TK Dodge SE + RE
Can someone explain why using this mod disables shout as an option to set a keybind, I'm using the Eldergleam modlist and it isn't an option in the control menu. LB+R3 opens the favourite menu not shout
So your mod doesn't work without rebinding keys and creating mods in mod oraganiser? Why not just keybind it originally? I'd rather be able to shout than pull up a menu.
No it does work, there is something wrong with your install somewhere. I said you need to rebind controller keys in the controlmap but that's only if you want to change something
It works out of the box in Eldergleam without the need to do anything unless you use a playstation controller which I am still trying to find where it causes issues, but that's a problem specific to Eldergleam as it doesn't happen outside of that modlist. Otherwise I have tested this over and over on new installs and with different users, it works. Check in the posts in here for various diagnostics like checking your overwrite>root folder for a controlmap_custom that would overwrite this one. If it's there, delete it. There could also be a steam input controller config overwriting this one (like if you installed Lorerim before it is certain to cause issues). Also, did you install any new mod on Eldergleam or is it default Eldergleam? New mods could have conflicts.
Lastly, it could simply be your Eldergleam install that is broken. It happens sometimes. Reinstalling and then verifying files could fix it.
Hello I just want to say thank you for such great controller scheme and guide. I am in Skyrim se 1.6.1170 and use 8bitdo controller. I ran into annoyance with power attack and parry the LB + RB will only parry so i swap it to LB + LT while for RT it works but makes LB trigger power attacks as well after a normal attack so for now i am ok on the front. As for dodge is like in reverse for all four directions but it works so i am ok. My only cry for help is trying to make NarakaBladePoint DW mod work the 3 normal attack and 3 power attack works but i can't seem to make work the four power attacks that are triggered with arrows keys. How do i make the dpad triger such moves or what button combination am i supposed to be pressing to make it work ?
Hmm I imagine that by arrow keys they actually mean directional attacks, which means you need to be moving with your left stick while doing the power attack. Like left+power attack should do something else than right+power attack.
As for your power attack issues chaining into normal attacks, try checking other settings in OCPA MCM Menu. Like "Modifier only on first attack" or "Disable Block During Attack". Try switching the "Long press mode" to something else too. Do not disable the block key entirely (last setting), it doesn't do anything good.
As for dodge, something got messed up in the installation, it's definitely not supposed to dodge in reverse directions
Thanks for the reply. I was able to make to make OCPA more stable that was able to make this part work [Attacks that have 3NA.3PA and are interoperable] The left right backwards and forward power attack are not working. But it seems from the research i made. I need to use SSEEdit and change something called ENAM-Animation Event. But truly love the control scheme. I really hated the tween menu but the shortcut you made is just so smooth and easy to use and remember.
Thanks! Much appreciated :) I poured a lot of hours into testing this control scheme. I actually play with it because I wasn't satisfied with other control schemes.
I hope you can fix this directional power attack issue with that other mod. It's always a bit fiddly with those in my experience.
I really hope BFCO implements modifier keys one day so we can leave MCO behind.
Hello sorry for bothering. I was able to fix my issue it seems that dTry's Key Utils is outdated so found a patch/update for it fixing animation move sets. I am loving the set up but i stumble to a wall and that is not been able to open the transformation skill tree. Did i miss reading something or do i need to add it to specific button? I was exited when i finally got downs all the control scheme in my brain and will be a shame to go back to vanilla controls lol.
Well, you're gonna need to edit the controlmap. In the optional files in this mod there is a guide on how to do this in more details, but the gist of it is, import the controlmap in the following web-page: https://hawk.bar/SkyrimControlMapper/
Then in the gamepad tab scroll down to "Tween Menu" and assign a keybind that's currently free, which would ideally be one of the Dpad buttons.
Here I assigned it to LB+Dpab Down. Download controlmap, then replace the one in my mod in MO2. In-game, reset controls to default (Start > Controls > press Y)
In the meantime or if for some reason you don't want to edit the controlmap itself, I suggest using "tab" on your keyboard which opens the tween menu. Then you can access the transformation tree from there. It's not perfect, but it's a working band-aid for something that you won't need to use very often anyway.
Thanks i had to set it up to LB+Y. When i tried to pair it with Dpad didn't work and the tab is by default for display equipment mod. Your instructions are so well detailed and ease to follow. Many tanks for the quick replies as well.
Heya just wanted to say that I found a good keybind for it: LB+Start. Try it. It's better than LB+Y. It replaces Quick Save.
Quick save is largely useless anyway. I will update my guide to reflect that and will have LB+Start bound to Tween Menu by default since it can be used sometimes in fringe cases. Quick Save is not advisable to use anyway, to be 100% sure you're always better off just making a new save manually.
Hello, I'm using this mod with eldergleam and for some reason I can't use left attack at all. LT doesn't even show up in my control settings. Is there any fix for this? I appreciate the help and for the mod!
Did you modify the list in any way by adding mods?
Make sure both controller mods are enabled in MO2 near the end.
Make sure there is no ControlMap_Custom.txt in your overwrite (see image below). If yes, delete it
Reset controls to default in-game (start > Controls > reset to default)
Make sure Steam input is not overriding anything (if you use it) like if playing with a scheme from another modlist (Lorerim comes to mind)
You can't change controller bindings in-game with a complex setup such as this one. Only modifying the controlmap directly will yield good results. See my guide in optional files for more information. Such is the way of playing controller in Skyrim in 2025 if you want complex control schemes that allow for combat staples like MCO, Dual Wield Blocking, OCPA, TK Dodge, all at once, plus good controls overall.

Here's how to bind Favorites in SkyUI

I would recommend not doing the changes you want, though. It will be impractical. But hey, the power is in your hands to change them.
I haven't tried NGVO so can't be of much help here, sorry
If I find a better keybind I'll update the mod
Cheers!
Open the controlmap.txt file included in this mod, CTRL-F "charge", should lead you to this line:
// Inventory
ChargeItem 0x14 0xff !0,Shout 0 0 0 0x8
Change it to
// Inventory
ChargeItem 0x14 0xff 0x0100 0 0 0 0x8
It will make it so pressing LB in inventory enables charging. If an item cannot be charged, LB functions normally. I will test it some more but I will eventually push it in next update if it's all good, along with a Tween Menu change I'm working on. Thanks for the feedback!
It's not a gamepad config for vanilla users.

Check my guide in the optional files to know more about the process.
