Everyone make sure your drivers are up to date, today's driver update claim Enhanced Frame Generation even on 40 series cards!
idk if this skyrim mod benefits from the enhancements or not, but it sure would be sweet.

look i have a mid-range MSI that can run HellDivers 2 on max settings and can run CS' full library.

i'm just wondering if it can run this or if i'll run into problems, i'm going to take the skull emoji as a no

It means cards that start with 40 or 50 in their name like 4070 or 4080. Yours starts with 16 so no it can't run it. You can just open a new tab and google this.

I believe PureDark also has a version that works for ENB, though it's paywalled (but still less than Lossless iirc)

Lossless Scaling: you can use on various types not just games but also videos with superior flexibility on upscaling algo, custom fg multipler, works on most games and most of all a dev that doesn't threaten to add malware on his magnus opus
PureDark: :V no thanks (waste of bucks honestly)

Tried LS multiple times. I always switch back to Pure Dark`s enb compatibile version. Works much much better imo.

Never had issues on my side even trying out multiple enb presets. Just really happy it works well after some small research wayback and proper debugging.

Maybe Im doing something wrong. But LS has no AA. So you need to turn ingame TAA. And then image is blurier than DLSS Upscaler, even if the latter is running in balanced mode at much lower resolution.

Is there an alternative for ENB? For some reason PureDark's DLSS just refuses to work on my game.

Have you read his install instructions? Running game in borderless etc? And you use enb compatibile version, not the one from nexus?

Yeah multiple times and followed multiple videos. I actually get the overlay in-game and can change options and everything, but I don't notice any FPS increase. Maybe there's 2-3 FPS increase but surely that's not all the mod can do I told myself so I'm thinking it's just not working.

Are you using the ENB FPS counter to gauge whether or not you're getting an FPS increase? If you are, then  that's your problem. The extra frames don't show up in the ENB UI — they're ignored. Lossless Upscaling is the same way. The DLSS may be working and you just don't realize it.

Yes, that's what I use. Should I try the Nvidia overlay counter instead?

Edit: I just tried it out and it's giving me the same numbers as the ENB FPS counter

I don't know what FPS counter to tell you to use, all I know is that the ENB counter is useless for this.

Try this: go outside Whiterun and save your game. Run around a for a while and take note of where you feel the frame drops — ignore what it says the FPS is. Then disable the DLSS mod, reload the game, and run around again in the same area — paying attention to how it *feels,* not what the FPS counter says.

If you don't notice a difference then maybe it isn't working, but for me it was night and day. I have my FPS capped at 70, but it's very obvious that it's actually well over 100.

I also just dropped in the new DLSS 4 DLL. I wasn't expecting to notice much of a difference, but it actually feels a lot smoother, with less frequent frame drops.

Edit: the only reason I even realized this was because I bought the Borderless Upscaling app and it comes with an FPS counter. So I had 2 FPS counters on my screen, but they were showing completely different numbers

Thanks for the suggestion. The first time I tested it I did it without the FPS counter. I loaded somewhere on the road between Whiterun and Rorikstead. I have a mod called the Great Forest of Whiterun which covers the Whiterun tundra with thick foliage and trees, so it's a breeding ground for low FPS. Anyway, I tested a few times without the counter, and the game was smooth until I make a sudden move, which makes a slight visible stuter happen until I'm idle again. This was the case both with and without the mod installed. It's worth noting that my FPS is always capped at 59, as when it gets too high it makes cloth and hair physics act funny. Speaking of which, my characters usually run with a lot of HDT stuff, and removing that stabilizes the FPS to a constant 55-59.

pure dark put a DRM on his enb compatible version, wich is also abandoned. the DRM makes that thing basically unusable for larger mod lists.

Its because people dont know anything about gpu bottleneck and use upscaler with s#*! cpu and decent gpu. Guess what, you will get less fps with upscaler. Go run your skyrim in 2k and you will get better fps.

@pudingsimon - This is false. Quit spreading misinformation. There is DRM in the paid versions which include upscaling, frame gen, and work with ENB and CS. They are not abandoned and all work with any modlist regardless of size. If it doesn't work for you, then you didn't set it up correctly or you don't have enough vram for frame gen (or you are cpu bound as @derackles said).

@Ghostseyru160 - No, the regular free Nexus version is just upscaling only and doesn't work with ENB. All paid versions work with ENB and have options for frame gen.

@Ghostseyru160: FPS drops due to mods like what you are referring to are not going to disappear, but the frame gen should help mitigate the way they feel.

I'm running a 5800x3d/4090 and I still get frame drops in areas with a lot of draw calls, but it's a lot worse if I don't have DLSS & frame gen activated.

You should also check to see how much VRAM you're using — if it's maxed out that will cause stuttering. I just noticed the other day that my mod list can sometimes use up almost all 24GB of my VRAM, which was pretty insane to me (of course I'm playing at 4k.)

Edit: I just saw that you were asking about the Nexus version of the mod — I thought you were using the paid version. Well that explains why it isn't working for you.

It's a great first step but honestly the implementation isn't great. It's very choppy even with the FPS limit and feels better with frame gen off at lower frames vs with it on. The input latency is also pretty unreal but I know that's out of your control. The ball is in Nvidia's court on that one.

I know it likely uses a different injection method but the Puredark frame gen mod feels a lot smoother with much less input latency which is unfortunate as I'd love to see that guy run out of business. It's likely the implantation of DLSS3 on top of frame gen that helps further boost performance. Once DLSS is added to CS then all the issues with frame gen should be resolved as well.

Thanks again for your hard work.

you have to use the sse display tweaks to set the frame limit and use window borderless. Second one eliminated stuttering and random fps drops. DLAA also makes it seem smoother to me.

    I have a 144hz monitor, so what should I put as the Framerate limit? (144-1)/2 = 71.5, so should I do 71 or 72?

Not fully compatible with ReShade. Effects will run twice as slow, and depth effects are not supported. Basic effects are fine.
What's defined here as "basic effects"? While I do use ReShade, it's part of the modlist I use, and I'm personally not really familiar with what counts as a "basic effect" or not.

DLSS Frame Gen is a hardware limitation on NVidia GPUs (only on 40 and 50 series cards). If you are using a 30 series, you'll need to use FSR or possibly lossless scaling (not sure if that works with Skyrim).
