New version posted which adds a new fossil trader who you can buy and sell from and who offers a way to trade in lower tier fossils for one of a higher tier, so it's easier to eventually get the rare ones. Also added a dozen new fossils as well as an MCM memu to control the drop rate and roll count as well as fossil site reset time.
Legacy of the Dragonborn's patch has also been updated so make sure to update it as well if you use Legacy; the NPC from V3 can also be recruited to the explorer's guild. Please read the sticky on the Legacy Patch Central page concerning upgrading as there are both ESl and ESP-fied versions of the patch available for use depending on when you started your save game.

V3.2 update: Just a few minor AI package adjustments, mainly to facilitate an update to the Legacy patch. Also adjusted Darnette so she'll always be at the camp initially until after you talk to her, then she'll sandbox around the fossil sites.
I started a new game when LotD v6 came but I only now saw the pinned comment here. I have this mod active along LotD v6 but I haven't noticed any issues in my current playthrough (except from the fact that not all fossils can be added to the museum, but don't know if that is an issue). As this mod contains scripts, I guess it is not safe to uninstall mid-game?
I am in the same boat. I did not realize that it was integrated. The only issue that I have found is that there are duplicate fossil sites and duplicate npcs at the fossil camp.
The reason that you may not be able to put all the fossil on display is because there are two sets on in the LOTD and in this mod.
please if possible, make a patch to make this mod actually useable. the part that makes it not so, is the fossil trading portion, where i have to slowly and methodically select 5 of a specific tier, close the menu, and do it again hundreds of times. just let it take all the ones we have, and spit out what we get, or at least let it take higher numbers than a single trade at a time. tedium is not fun.
now if only the trade-in-chest didnt ONLY accept 5 fossils at once, requiring me to make hundreds of individual trades just to get some good fossils -_-
I think I lost Darnette. I spoke to her and now I can't find her near the camp or the other fossils in the zone. Is there a console code to make her pop back up ?
she wanders away from the camp around the volcanic area (just saw her near-ish the mourning giant) and i think right after the initial conversation she heads to the kynegrove inn or something, but i'm using the LOTD version so i can't be certain if this is your situation.
While i'm using the version baked into LOTD i'll comment here: i really appreciate that this mod has now made me care about mining for anything other that iron. in base game i'd only ever look for that to transmute into eventual gold necklaces, but now anything is viable to mine because of the chance at fossils, it's a wonderful feeling. thank you
Has any VR users gotten this to work with VR Refit - Mine Chop and Drop? I would absolutely love to swing my pickaxe at nodes and have fossils drop to my feet. As it stands though, it looks like the script doesn't fire when manually striking with a pickaxe nor does the fossil drop to your feet when activating the animation, it's just added to your inventory. You also can't manually strike fossil nodes, it seems.
Also, didn't there used to be a button that let me search through the forums for previous questions? Where did that go?

I have not tried uninstalling yet.
