Hey Author! Loved your mod but I need to tell you this causes crashes at riverwood standing stone area. I have mods that alter this region, them being: Natural waterfall Man those Borders (Latest) JK skyrim Ryn's standing stones Wizkid's hunters camp overhauled.
I don't know which one is the conflicting one. thought I'd let you know. Your mod alone works fine though! Keep up the great work! Good day.
I'm also crashing with this mod. I'll try the 1.0 version, with the Wavy Waterfall patches, and go to Honningbrew Meadery, where a crash was reported, and report back my experience.
Thanks for the heads up 😅 This problem has an open bug report; other people have also reported this issue and I'm working on figuring out why it's happening and how to stop it. I hope to have a fix by next week; stay tuned
Okay, thx. I got a crash neat the meadery too. I will try to play with the load order, now. Maybe putting your mod after all the mods that are impacting the area could work. You could ask Czazior, the author of JK Patches mod to help you fix some incompatibilities. I like your mod, underwater are underrated in any video games.
Yep, it was specifically designed to be compatible out of the box with Depths of Skyrim!
My understanding is that Whale Bones and Sea Witches only edit the Sea of Ghosts, which this mod doesn't touch at all, so they should be compatible as well.
The latest version makes no edits at all to that area. I deleted all the content in that spot to avoid any possible conflicts.
If you updated on an existing save and are still playing with the same character, it's possible that the previous version of the mod is still causing some lingering issues; I would try reloading to a point before you installed UWRL altogether. If that doesn't work, then I'm fairly confident in saying that one of your other mods is the cause of the issue
Really cool mod, but it unfortunately causes a crash for me on the path between Riverwood and Whiterun (the winding slope where the waterfall is.) Disabling this mod stopped the crash. The only edits I can think of in that area are by Natural Waterfalls and wavy water effects. I also have Northern Roads (clutters only) installed too. Possibly an incompatibility.
Same issue here for me as well, the exact spot as well.
I love the idea of this mod, though. I have been waiting years for more underwater content. Please don't get discouraged! I assumed it was my load order alone, but if it is the same spot for other people, there must be some reason this happens. Sadly, I can't be much help in this matter though :/ - I do not use northern roads.
Looks like WAVY Waterfalls Effect was the culprit. I've uploaded a patch that should make it play nicely with UWRL; let me know if you see any further problems
So I do use WAVY Waterfalls, and I installed your latest patch, and I still crashed at the same spot. It is right as I get within render distance of the two bridges outside Whiterun, heading towards Riverwood. I don't have too big of a mod list, so I am not too sure what could cause it. Within that specific load area, I use Skyrim Bridges, a couple of grass mods, for the water, I am using wavy waterfalls, and simplicity of sea. Houses near that area are Rayeks End, Jk's Riverfall cottage. Aside from that, there isn't much else I see that could be potentials for crashing.
Hngh okay back to the drawing board. Thanks for sharing the other mods you're using; I'll try and take a look at this sometime tomorrow or the day after
Edit: What grass mods are you using? Underwater plants are technically "grass", so that might be relevant info
Hi! Just wanted to report that I am also getting a CTD going across the bridge in Whiterun towards Homingbrew Meadery. If you need a cross reference these are the plugins I'm using: https://pastebin.com/i8Y27T3D Love the mod though, hope to use it someday!
OK, I have (probably) the same issue. Took me forever to narrow it down to this mod. New game, starting in Whiterun. Walk East on the road to Honningbrew Meadery. It CTDs at exactly the same spot just before I get to the Meadery next to a big roadside torch thing. I tried coming South from around Battle-Born Farm and get almost halfway across the bridge near Honningbrew and consistent CTD. It doesn't ever give me a crash log.
I have a huge load order. I do have WAVY Waterfalls Effect - ESL. I have Folkvangr for grass. I do have Simplicity of Sea, too.
Love the idea of this mod so I almost didn't say anything as I don't want to be discouraging. I did not try the WAVY Waterfalls patch. I just disabled the mod so I could keep testing other mods.
For met the fix fixed the issue. I had CTD with Wavy Waterfalls, near the path from Helgen to Riverwood. All is fixed, now. I encourage you to try the fix and report to us if it fixed the problem. Cool mod, Skyrim underwater content is really lacking some mods, as it is an overlooked content in the game.
I use the simplicity of sea, and Wavy Waterfalls, as mentioned before, just as a keepsake note.
For grass both above and below, I use these: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/45719 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/44899 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/80687 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/142744 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/43867
I hope this can be some help. I am eager to explore, though! I have this mod bookmarked and in my mod list so that I can track it, and I appreciate the effort and the mod! :)
Sorry everyone for the inconvenience. For some reason there was a bed of salmon roe near Honingbrew Meadery that caused random crashes whenever that cell loaded (which is why all the crashes happened either on the bridge there or at the bend in the road above). After an afternoon/evening of debugging, I still have no earthly idea why it was happening, but I deleted the offending item and all the crashes went away.
I just uploaded a new version of the main mod to the downloads page that should fix the problem for good. If you're still struggling with crashes in the Whiterun/Riverwood area, update to the latest version. (I also archived the Wavy Waterfalls patch--it's now redundant.)
Let me know if you see any other issues in the future.
Thank you for all of your hard work! I just tried the last updated version and it didn't crash! Me and all my friends are about to start a Skyrim Together playthrough and this mod is going in it, among all of my future modlist projects as well. In my opinion this mod mixed with Depths of Skyrim are a MUST. Again, I appreciate this mod and all the effort put into it!
Quick testimony: SPOILERS DONT READ IF YOU WANT TO BE SURPRISED I'm modding my game for my wife and myself, she was the one who found the salmon roe bed crash (fixed in the update if anyone is having that issue). When I figured out it was this mod, and told my wife I had remove it, she was so disappointed. She had found the cache of armor that the ex-soldiers had ditched into the river, and she found the note so thoughtful and cute. I can't wait to get home from work and tell her that we can add it back into the game! The writing in this mod is perfect, and even though I have only found one or two of the additions, I love that this gives me a reason to explore the rivers and lakes more. I would recommend pairing this with Dirt and Blood for an immersive way to have a reason to dive into the river every now and then. I would encourage more people who are addicted to modding their game to write comments praising their favorite mods, mod authors mostly get bug reports and complaints, and they need some love too! Thank you to YeahButIronically for this great mod, not leaving the load order anytime soon!
Thanks so much for the note! I certainly had fun coming up with things to hide underwater, so it's great to hear that other people enjoy finding them :)
TY for all your work and will look forward to it in the future. Tested it out and game freezing between Whiterun and Riverwood..the section of road where You face two wolves. Without it. Game is fine. Using Cathedral water, cathedral landscape, basic vanilla trees and the basic wolf reskin if that helps.
Hi! I'm not a software engineer or an expert in crash logging; I'm an English major with a copy of the Creation Kit and a willingness to Google things. If you want some troubleshooting help I could use a little more information haha
What is the player character doing when the crash happens, and where does it occur? Does the crash occur every time you do that action/go to that place, or only sometimes? What other mods do you have that affect that place/mechanic/item?
I see a few other mods in the crash log that might be involved: Landscape and Water Fixes, Landscape Fixes For Grass Mods, Happy Little Shrubs. Have you tried activating/deactivating those, and seeing if the crash still happens? Or rearranging them in your load order so that they're above/below UWRL?
Another question-- do you use WAVY Waterfalls Effect? Some other users reported crashing related to that mod, and I've just uploaded a patch that should fix things if that's your problem too
Cool concept and endorsed but too many landscape edits for my load order. I don't want broken landscape so I make this lose every conflict but a lot of stuff ends up buried below the ground in which case it just eats draw calls.
If this could be remade hyper-compatible like spaghetti's it feels like it'd be a staple of a lot of load orders.
Unfortunately making a version without landscape edits would be extremely difficult. This is a new content mod--not a visual overhaul/clutter rework like Spaghetti's stuff--and a lot of the vanilla waterways are too shallow to include interesting locations, items, or storytelling.
I do strive for compatibility, though, so if you have a particular mod that you're seeing conflicts with, let me know and I'll see what I can do

I dont think Whales bones and Seawitches by Mihail shouldnt be a problem either.
My understanding is that Whale Bones and Sea Witches only edit the Sea of Ghosts, which this mod doesn't touch at all, so they should be compatible as well.
Oh, and if no one else has done it, I will (Props to the author)
