A Horse's Life is a deeply immersive and intuitive horse management system, drawing heavy inspiration from its predecessors while introducing brand-new, never-before-seen features. Every addition seamlessly blends into the vanilla game, enhancing the experience without feeling out of place. From purchasing multiple horses at stables and taming wild steeds to owning a personal herd, crafting or acquiring specialized equipment, and issuing commands to your horses, A Horse's Life delivers the most immersive and dynamic horse experience Skyrim has seen.
❗Please be Aware❗
A Horse's Life was designed with the latest version of Skyrim in mind, meaning there are references to some Anniversary Edition records in the main file for the mod, however it should work with older versions of the game fine, so long as you use Backported Extended ESL Support.
It's not recommended to swap between horse mods like Immersive Horses or Convenient Horses during an existing playthrough. For the best experience, use this mod with a fresh game or a save where no horse mods have been used and no horses are currently owned.

A Horse's Life is a fully standalone system that disables Skyrim’s vanilla horse mechanics, making it incompatible with other mods that alter horse functionality. Additionally, custom texture mods won’t work by default due to the way A Horse's Life manages horse skins. However, new textures can be integrated through a patch for full compatibility using the guides provided in the article section.
Due to forwarding USSEP and the need to amend some hostler factions, the dialogue quests for each hold e.g. "DialogueWhiterun" have some edits and can cause some incompatibilities with other mods. It's recommended you use xEdit to check your load order with A Horse's Life and patch any incompatibilities.
