About this mod
Overhaul of Markarth that ~ x3 the height of the city and adds several new NPCs, custom dungeons, custom weapons and armour and a new shout. This mod is entirely ESPFE and compatible with potentially every Markarth overhaul made. There is over 34k references in this entire mod to give an idea of the scale of the area covered in this overhaul.

First off this mod has taken over 8 months and several hundred hours to get to this point. This mod will not be perfect however i have done several walkthroughs of the entire mod checking everything added in it to make sure that stuff works. Still I am one person. Even though i have done multiple checks i can almost gaurentee that i have missed something simply because i looked the other way when it happened.
Now just to mention this, i recommend reading, some say its good for you. All i can say is that it will probably save you some time in fixing any issue you have but no i will not be betting money on that.
This mod adds five new shops, two trainers, a follower and multiple custom interiors/dungeons that have a focus on more vertical gameplay. Im saying this as a hint of you will have to look both up and down from your line of sight to get through all of the dungeons added in this mod. This mod does not have any quests. You can install this mod and simply play the game as before only markarth now has more of the scale in height that it deserves being a supposed capital dwemer city. As for the dungeon diving, again there is no quest for any of it. You could get lost and have to wander around until you find a way you can actually get out from. There is nothing pushing you to go into any of them. Do with that as you will.
Personally i really enjoy the dwemer and blackreach areas of the game so that is what this mod is built around. The dungeons added in this mod are not easy. There are a lot of enemies added in the different cells however again, VERTICAL GAMEPLAY, ie: remember enemies are really not too keen on falling large distances and seem to be unable to lift their heads up more than 5 degrees. Along with that i have added several custom weapons and armour sets. Enjoy finding them all if you want them or idk just cheat and use the consol why dont you instead of working for it and getting that warm fuzzy feeling from hard work. Actually no just cheat if you want to see the custom stuff since screw the treasure hunt. Guess the challenge is really only for folk doing survival or One Life stuff.
Speaking of the custom weapons and armour, if some of the effects are broken it means that i have missed adding a file into the assets of this mod. If this is the case the influence/models of the assets i made/edited for the different items probably came from colourful magic. If you havent tried it i highly recommend it but just having the assets from that mod active should fix that if i missed something when compiling the different files for this entire mod. The way that i put the custom equipment together was in a way that you could technically play through most of a character getting better stuff while only staying inside Markarth, including sniping guards from the other side of the city.
Another point is the LOD files with the mod. I am very much new to LOD files. I have tried quite a few things to get around it but every attempt ended with either LOD asset references being placed in Tamriel or the city LOD having holes in the different levels. I have included both a city view LOD and a Tamriel view LOD in the FOMOD so that if someone knows how to fix it they already have the assets in place if that is needed. I have already looked into the Markarth LOD unlocked mod and it didnt matter what i tried the LOD just refused to apply correctly. This very much could be due to my list not being the most stable since ive been playing with different lighting mods and other assets, along with the fact that i have built up my list from scratch to about 3300 mods with quite a few being custom edits that i made myself leaving plently room for an error. This is also the same idea when it comes to the Picta Realis patch that i added, it might be helping or it might just be doing nothing. If you know for definite please let me know in the comments.
For the not lore friendly music track that i added for vibes all i did was place a trigger box and attach the music file to the trigger file tree. ALL the credit for the music track goes to sp22ce.
For the Nightingale Pride retexture that i have added, i did not want a replacer for the base Nightingale weapon textures. This means a new file and file name was required. I created the recolour however all of the credit for the actual texutre goes to lKocMoHaBTl and their mod Nightingale Pride - Bow and Blade Reincarnation - SSE EDITION.
For the compatibility of this mod with other Markarth overhauls, i realised that there was relatively few edits that i needed to make for it to work with JK's Skyrim so i decided to split them up into a different plugin. This means that if you want to use this mod with another it should hopefully be much easier for you to find the references that you need to move around or just remove. This is me being optimistic and just crossing my fingers since in reality i have no idea what the other overhauls will require to be compatible, with any luck this decision will help a bit.
This mod has quite a few plugins which is both becuase of the number of references that this mod has ended up containing and also from decisions i made right at the start for attempting to future proof any additions that turned out to be a bit off that to fix would have requried me to rebuild half the mod. The one positive i can say from that is that i have spent quite a bit of time cleaning the plugins, yes using autoclean too, and every one is ESPFE. For some of the things that may be broken in this mod, it might be from the fact that the plugins are ESPFE and not full ESPs. To give an idea of what is was like, try thinking up 50 different ways to make an espresso, then you'll get to feel the level at which my soul has dropped to from doing it too...over like 100 times for 100 different things because idk i guess i blinked too much and offended Lord Spiff from drinking espresso.
Also Joov, your custom maps stream added about two months of work to this mod because i couldnt get the idea for a dungeon from your vod out my head so to you i say, i hope when you're sleepy and walking bare foot a baby rocky decideds to cosplay as a forgotten lego or brittish power plug.
Jk yours and Spiffs vids helped keep this mod and my education from spiriling.

Another thing to mention is that i am a busy poor student who is not doing game design. That means i have absolutly no idea how to do anything with the creation kit and have been simply winging it this entire time. As such i have now gotten to the point where i no longer have the knowledge or time to find the knowledge for the smaller or more specific things in modding. I will also not be mentioning how long it took me to make the custom assets for the shout that i added for the player. Additions:
It was my plan to add in an optional plugin and assets for the different NPCs that i added in however reguardless of what i tried i could not get the assets to correctly apply to the different NPCs. Below is a list of the different NPC mods thtat i attempted to apply to the custom characters that i made. If i get the time i may end up looking into adding in the assets to the FOMOD installer but currently i have excluded all of it other than the custom eye textures that i did manage to get working. Those eye textures are from the mod "DarkDukla Eye Realversion - with Cotr version". The only thing i did was apply them to the NPCs i created in this mod.
The hair assets that i was intending to potentially use was from "BDOR Hair for Skyrim SE\AE (female only)" and is the mod that will be required if you want to have the Bonnie NPCs optional plugin active that is in the FOMOD.

I intended for Ciara to look like the overhaul "Elisif The Fair Replacer By Bacetrica" exactly, including eyes.
Saoirse
Saoirse was supposed to take the apperance of "Ishtari Nyr - Follower - ESL".
Blair
Blair was suppose to have the influence of Daemon from "House of the Dragon" and have the apperance from "ESL Aurum Nord Follower SE".
Aisling
The apperance for this NPC was suppose to look like "Simply Serana - A Visual Replacer".
Ailis
He was suppose to have an apperance from two mods. I was intending to use the body/arm tattoo textures from "A Makeover for Bjorn" but the head assets from "Miggyluv's Lucien Replacer".
Sadhbh
She was suppose to have an apperance from "Mjoll The Lioness Replacer Standalone ESL".
Leana
She was suppose to have the apperance from "Halsey Nyr - Follower - ESL".

She is a custom NPC based off my own personal character preset.

-If someone can make a patch that gives JK's Skyrim.esp a Masters flag that is stable and compatible with all the other JK's skyrim mods please let me know and i will look into adding the masters flag on all the different plugins i can for this mod to help lower any reference count limit for the bigger mod lists.

Thank you for reading this far and if i have missed something please let me know, i think i have gotten all of the bugs that are in the mod but again im one person. I am also not the best with lighting assets so if there is anyone who could give advice or just straigth up fixing the issues ive had getting the lighting right would be very welcome.
I am also not the best when it comes to LOD files. i have spent a lot of time attempting to get the LOD both in and out of the city working and havent found a solution where i can just activate the mod and then run dyndolod. Again any advice or just a straight up fix is welcome.
Known bugs:
- Could just be my list but incase anyone else has this issue, entering a new cell while holding a torch or other active light can cause my game to crash.
- Could just be my list but incase anyone else has this issue, going from the "Markarth Undergound" cell to the "Deep Forge" cell causes my game to crash the first time but then for some reason if i immedietly load up the game and enter the cell the exact same way it just doesnt crash and is completly stable and runs fine. The crash logger lists that the issue is to do with the shaddows on varying dwemer static references which is why i think this is just a me issue.
