Would it be possible to make a version with a ''magic'' arm instead, without necessarily having the item equipped? Like a shout or a power word—basically the grapple mechanic from Devil May Cry 4. That would be amazing.
Great mod, love it. My only concern (before testing myself) is that this might be quite OP if you can disarm and stunlock enemies. If you ever plan to mak this a bit more modular, I'd love a traversal only version that can pull the player towards the environment and towards enemies but not unequip them or stagger them. It'd be cool if instead there was a chance to steal a non-equipped item from them.
This is just a first thought afte watching the trailer. I by no means intend to downplay this amazing mod. Since you seem to be quite open to feedback, I decided to share my first impressions in good faith :)
I agree, it might be OP in skilled hands. The Hookshot is a situational utility weapon. It is only as good as player holding it. Obviously, I had a lot of practice with it before recording the video. What you're not seeing is how easy it is to miss and the consequence of missing. I think you'll find that after testing, the Hookshot in combat is not the easiest thing to use, nor ideal to use in many situations. With practice it becomes more viable but ultimately will never replace the need for melee and is not a great alternative for bows. With that said, I encourage you test it in game, then return with your new evaluation. I'm interested to see if your concerns evolve.
It does not draw me towards any collision. Last in order, no overwrite.
It might be related to an other issues I have with your paraglider mod. Your custom Thariel's Gale mod that is supposed to launch me into the air does not do so, it simply creates a wind and once I jump it pushes me up. So from what I see there might be something iat work that is keeping my character on the ground. I m running 1500 mods, so no idea if it makes sense for me/us trying to debug this. Running GOG version if that might make a difference but I guess it does not.
SKSE Input functions are needed to auto jump and deploy when using Tarhiel's Gale. Of course, you'd have to have updated SPO to v3 for it to work as well. This mod uses the same SKSE Input functions every time you try to attach to any collision that is not an NPC. Everything else would work fine, just not the traversal feature. This has me thinking it has to do with your SKSE installation or lack thereof. I recommend you reinstall SKSE64, GOG version, to be certain. After which, test both SPO and HS on a new game to see if they work properly. Let me know your results.
Okay, reinstalled and it did not change naything. In fact, it woorked once, the first time I ried, not any more after that. It seems like that there is some script lag involved. When I hook onto a wall, nothing happens, then seconds later that dash effect occurs.
Releasing my own mods, 200k+ downloads, pretty much all mod lists and they just work.. I have no issues with any other user. Let's avoid adding statements like these :)
I asked which list because if you were using a publicly available list, I could've and would've downloaded it to diagnose the issue. No worries. We can continue without. Are you using any mod that deals with or alters controller/keyboard inputs?

Like what I do?
If you'd like to help me stay fulltime in the creative space, please endorse and explore the many other ways found here.
I am also wondering. What is the actual distance range?

thanks
hope for a bound one, or maybe a smaller wrist-wearable version :)
