Hrimfaxi is using the same texture as Frost. Same as all horses from Winterhold, where he comes from. Possible bug?

I think I opted for them to have the same texture if I remember correctly but I'm not sure if I applied the mist effects etc. It's been a while since I've modded. When I get caught up I can upload some other optional files. I wanted the Winterhold horses to stand out a little more than normal horses but not have quite as mystical of a vibe as Frost.

This is exactly what I was looking for out of a Shadowmere mod. It's perfect, thank you.

Thank you very much! I Felt like most of the Shadowmere textures were falling short I hope it plays nice in your game as it does in mine. I intend to upload the Esl version at some point as I am using it in my game.

Agreed, I've browsed quite a lot of Shadowmere retextures but none were really to my liking except this one.

Added Frost, converted to ESL, removed a couple entries for shadowmere that were unnecessary, made all other horses a separate ESL since it doesn't matter how many plugins anymore makes things a little more "modular". Not intentional but Shadowmere's eyes aren't glowing in my game anymore and honestly I kind of like it better. I might consider uploading a version of each with glowing eyes not sure yet. Working on adding/changing some abilities right now for Shady

this mod enabled me to swap out shadowmere's mesh with a slim horse one - the new textures look amazing on it! thanks!

Looks exceptionally good. But, why the esp? And why under Models And Textures instead of Creatures, since we're talking about a horse as main feature and the remodelling as secondary feature...

    Cheers, endorsed.

It's a retexture and the esp file is there to enforce the change.

Retextures replace, well, textures and as such don't need "enforcing" since the new textures overwrite the old ones. An esp is only needed when there's new meshes at play. My only guess is the esp is there because of the alterations made by other mods that have been used in this one. But, again, since this here mod replaces textures of other mods, the esp shouldn't be needed.

ESP is needed in order to make the saddle function properly. Without the esp I kept either getting a brown imperial saddle instead of the dark brotherhood style or vice versa. This is because the vanilla game uses the imperial saddle nif for shadowmere. The only workaround I was able to find was to create an independent nif file referencing the new textures as well as a few outfit tweaks for shadowmere. In order to reference non vanilla meshes/outfit changes an ESP file is needed. It also makes him invulnerable. I could make a non ESP version but I would be unable to make the saddle function properly. If anyone has any insight how this could happen I would be overjoyed I spent hours trying to do that very thing :(
