The REDUX update is mainly to tie up some loose ends and fixes. Most follower frameworks have equipment managing built in now so it's recommended to use that instead to avoid conflicts. There's also been several mods released since this one was first released 2018 offering similar functionality so unless you specifically need something in this mod I recommend using any of the more up to date alternatives.
KNOWN ISSUES Mods changing how equipped gear is shown including XP32 styles - If a mod changes how gear is displayed/placed on the player character the mod might not detect them or cause the player to turn, non-permanently, invisible instead. (Potentially) animation replacers - If they don't trigger the sheath/unsheathe detector or use different timings Can't remap hotkey without crashing - This is due to how AE does things. You can as of 0.12.1 remap the keys manually through console. By typing "set _MODLazyItemHiderToggleKeyID to N" and "set _MODLazyItemHiderHotkeyID to N" and entering + exiting the mod menu the key is remapped. Replace N with the desired keycode, a list of DXScanCodes can be found here.
For anyone who got confused like me, this mod basically makes your character a master of quick change and automatically unequips the selected armors when not in battle :)
You'd be less confused if you started reading mod descriptions, it's a 30 second read tops and the relevant parts are even brightly colored. Helmets and gauntlets are managed by an equipment manager while 13 types of weapons + shield and quiver, both modded and vanilla, are turned invisible.

I've been using this mod for a couple of months now and its amazing. It was exactly what I was looking for to hide my bow and quiver, while having my bow visible while in use and hiding it when sheathed. However, now one of my characters turns invisible in third person when I equip my bow and when it shows kill cams, then re-appears when I sheath my bow. It doesn't effect melee either. I know it was this mod, as I disabled it, loaded the save and checked it and the invisible problem didn't occur. I've never had this happen before, and it only seems to be affecting one character. What do you think could be causing this issue? And how can I fix it? Thanks in advance.
Is it possible to add Circlets to the exceptions so that NPCs outside of combat remove helmets, but do not remove Circlets? The author, unfortunately, abandoned the mod, but maybe one of the craftsmen will undertake to do this?
Thanks for including the source files! I was looking for a way to hide a weapon in Papyrus and I learned exactly what I needed from looking at how you did it.
Pairs great with Skyrim Outfit System, press one key and stop worrying about your weapons getting in the way of looking nice in your city outfit. Going to test with Immersive Equipment Displays as well, hoping everything works out for me.
best helmet and quiver hider or shall I say the only simple but effective mod in this regard as of 2024. having this installed over a year and never disappointed me, delivered as advertised. tried some of the more well known other helmet and equipment hider mods, whether they don't work properly or they add so much fat to the game that the mod lose it's purpose
