i don't think this mod will be updated any time soon, but i'm leaving this comment for anyone who wants to know before they try it:
unfortunately stendarr's aura is still too blinding. it would be nice if it was less noisy too.
but this mod helps, if you use a lot of elemental cloaks. it improves their visuals by a lot, especially when you cast them in dark dungeons. So definitely worth the endorsement i left it.
Made these spells actually usable as a wizard character since I can finally see, but with the effect still looking good. Thank you so much for this mod!
HeIIscream : Is there a way to remove that ugly white glow on player's body from Stendarr's aura but keep cloak effect? EDIT: You need to remove "Hit shader" in xx008A5C
I'm experiencing something similar with fire cloak. Could someone walk me through how to: "You need to remove "Hit shader" in xx008A5C "
I would like to make these effects completely transparent. Could you tell me which value I need to change? I am assuming you used nifskope but I also have ck installed. Thank you!
I don't remember exactly how to modify meshes because it's been a long time I posted this, but if you go to https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56545 and look at comments section Jaxonz posted how to modify meshes, including how to make them more transparent. To save you from trouble of actually opening another web page here's copy-paste of what Jaxonz posted over there.
I haven't done those others you mentioned and really hadn't planned to.
The work behind this mod is really simple, so I'll show you how I modified the fire cloak mesh as a template for how other similar effects might be made more subtle:
Use BSA Browser or a similar tool to extract \meshes\magic\fxfirecloak01.nif from Skyrim - Meshes.BSA
Open the file with NifSkope
Navigate to the the FlameCloakMesh:0 node, BSEffectShaderProperty
Change Emissive Multiple from 1.2000 to 0.5000 (makes it less bright)
Change Falloff Start Opacity from 1.000 to 0.500 (this makes it more transparent)
Make the same changes to the FlameCloakMesh:1 and GlowMesh:0 nodes.

I haven't been able to find a good mod for SE that handles this issue

Here's what I'm talking about.

( Using it for Enderal SE without seeing any issue. )
I love the cloak spells but they made fighting or even navigating in dark areas nearly impossible.
So much better now that I don't think Stendarr is out to make me a blind moving target.
