I hope you all enjoy this mod. Please post bug reorts or comments if you encounter any oddities with the mod.
I have included before and after screenshots. These screenshots use vanilla sliders only (no Racemenu, No ECE, And only using elven faceparts). The BEFORE shots use the vanilla morphs AND vanilla normal maps. The AFTER shots use my morphs, along with the normal maps from Elegant Beauty. You can use any normal maps and skin textures you want, I just find the normal maps from Elegant Beauty suit the more humanoid elf appearance.
Also, excuse the neck seams, I forgot to put the Elegant Beauty BODY normal maps back on, This mod will not cause seams in your game (at least it shouldnt).
Ill be working on Male elves next, followed by presets, then NPC replacers. All in good time, I wanted to release the female version first as Males require more work (need to fix beard shapes to fit), so would rather iron out bugs on the female version first so I am better prepared for the males.
I just found out that KL has added support for Aesthetic Elves in his High Poly Head mod over on VectorPlus since version 1.3. I strongly suggest checking this out! https://vectorplexus.com/files/file/283-high-poly-head/
Male elves will not be happening. My skills with 3D software are not good enough to get morphs for all the male headparts that match new head dimensions. This was much easier with female due to the affected headparts all being 2D planes, but male beards have 3 dimensions and I wasn't able to get it to work.
My recommendation is to scrap Aesthetic Elves and instead use expressive facegen morphs with the high poly head mod on vector plus. This combination, used with racemenu (or ece) and some nicer normal maps from a body/face texture replacer can make your elves look amazing, and the higher poly mesh makes the exaggerated features much nicer to look at (and can always he smoother out with racemenu sliders if you want more human elves). This is what I use now and have dropped AE from my mod list as the morphs in expressive facegen morphs look really good especially with high poly heads, and is far better than anything I can put together
hello. i use vortex and i was wondering if you or anyone knows how to change its load order for this mod because there's not a option to change what it load after
Snowflake is there a specific reason you use Vortex or no? Because if not then you can just re-zip all the folders managed by vortex and reinstall them manually with mod organizer and then just use Vortex for another game (like I do with kh3)
Is MO2 a cult? Why whenever someone mentions using another mod manager that is not MO2, there's always a MO2 user to urge that person to change to MO2 over some really silly, absolutely normal questions that everyone has/had/will have throughout their modding journey?
OP is clearly a beginner confused, because the instructions are geared towards MO2. MO2 has ""installation order"" and load order, Vortex has only load order, this mod has no esp, so it's obvious OP is referring to MO2's installation order. Vortex doesn't give a crap about your installation order, all you have to do is to make sure this mod's assets are winning all other conflicts.
Works for the most part. Liking it so far! But the brows don't look like in the picture. Brows are still vanilla and this is the only mod I have that would affect player or npc appearance. Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Itll be because of the normal maps (bump mapping textures that created the illusion of extra modelling while keeping poly counts low). See the description page, its mentioned on there.
I wish the guys were also improved under Aesthetic Elves. I always have done. Look, it has to be said; Cursed as the former Chimer are, Dunmer males are staggeringly ugly. Frankly, none of the male elves come off very well!
I installed this mod at the bottom of my load order in MO2 and nothing changed. I'm using Skyrim Modding Essentials but I have RaceMenu disabled. The female faces all still look vanilla. What am I doing wrong?
Umm, as your current setup does sound wonderful (I never really thought of Tamrielic elves as beardy with the exception of the Dwemer, if I'm honest) have you considered streamlining it as AE Redux? I mean, it's literally your follow-up! (Oh, how well does it take TeoB Elven eyes?)

I have given permission for this user to do so, please don't report it as theft.

I know of litteraly no one in 10+ years of putting a beard on elves.
Plaease do a male elf.
Male PCs get no love.
