Q: I don't get the additemmenu cube automatically. A: Please make [AddItemMenu] item with blacksmith forge.
Q: About how to update. A: Uninstall old version. Launch game. Save. Close Game. Install new version. Launch game. Use the AddItemSE pack in misc of inventory.
Q: Some items may not appear in the list.. A: If the mod does not fill in the required item settings, the AddItemMenu will not display the items. For it may induce CTD. This can be avoided by rewriting the CheckResourceFiles in the Ini file. CheckResourceFiles = 2 to 0. NOTE: v1.13 is testing work for auto fill in the required item settings.
Q: Address Library ?. A: Thanks for letting me know, I'm aware of the Address Library. So you don't have to tell me :)
Q: Any plans for a skyrim VR version of this? A: So far, I don't have any plans because I don't have a VR device.
well, i'm glad that someone finally fixed this mod. but the fact is, 'qui' is better. with 'qui' you don't have to use magic tomes or shouts and you don't have to type in id names. with 'qui' you press one key and the entire load order pops up onscreen. you then scroll thru until you find the item you want. much much simpler.
OHHHH this works, thank goodness. I was at my wits end. I had all the listed mods already installed, so I just went into the mod's folder and deleted the Interface folder without reinstalling anything and it worked. It bloody worked. Thank you!
probably stupid question. How to install the NG file and have it "after this mod", given that I primarily use the Nexus mod loader and thus don't know where to put this .zip file?
So I tried this and it brings up an error message before the game launches saying that the Additem.dll did not load and is disabled, saying that it's for an older version of the game. It also says that continuing to load may result in lost save data or other undesired behavior. Any ideas?
You're still doing God's work, Skater McGee. Crash logs showed me that AddItemMenu was showing up near the point of the CTD, but that's as far as analyzers got me -- seeing your comment after I came to look around here is what saved the day.
Thanks for providing these instructions. Additem is truly essential.
Left bracket (DX code 26) is assigned to different action for me and I don't think I can change it. I tried to change it from 26 in the NG toml without any apparent effect. I even commented out the line and then deleted the whole section and left bracket still brought up the list.
I'm sure I'm doing something really stupid wrong. Any suggestions?
i was crashing before i deleted the interface folder, but now i did and when using the addmenu thing in game nothing comes up and my game freezes until i exit out of the invisible addmenu thing, halp plz
On page 4 of the comments section, PyroPumpkin posted a comment with a solution to the invisbile menu. Follow the instructions and the invisible menu shouldn't be an issue anymore.
I tried to click on the link posted for the NG mod, but it won't allow me to download it because it says that the creator hid it. Where did you find it/how were you able to download it? Thank you so much for your help!! :)
I am very new to modding. I hope this helps others like me. Learning curves are normal, don't worry! ♾️🦋 (AuDHD)
FOLLOW LEESHAW'S METHOD.
My issue was: Whenever I would try to use the misc items, it would tell me that I cannot equip that item. When I would try to use the shout, it would freeze my screen until I hit the B button to back out of the invisible menu. I tried KingVario's method, but then the entire game would crash during the opening scene (I have a GOT intro mod heheheh). CAUTION: YOU NEED 7ZIP FOR THIS METHOD TO WORK.
Follow LEESHAW'S METHOD.
When you download this mod, "AddItemMenu - Ultimate Mod Explorer" DO NOT USE VORTEX. Download it MANUALLY onto your desktop. Then, download the NG mod (shown in LEESHAW'S method). DO IT THE SAME WAY-- MANUALLY TO THE DESKTOP.
You will see TWO zipped files. DO NOT UNZIP THEM. Right click the "AddItemMenu - Ultimate Mod Explorer" zipped folder and hover over the 7Zip option and click "open archive".Follow (copied & pasted) LEESHAW's instructions:
2. In AddItemMenu.7z, DELETE the folder: Interface ⦁ In AddItemMenu.7z /SKSE/plugins, DELETE the 2 files: ⦁AddItemMenuSE.dll ⦁AddItemMenuSE.ini
(My note: The same way you opened the "AddItemMenu - Ultimate Mod Explorer" zip file archive? Do it for the NG zipped folder. Leave both archive windows open.)
3. Copy or Drag FROM AddItemMenu-NG.7z SKSE/plugins TO AddItemMenu SKSE/plugins the 2 files: ⦁AddItemMenuSE.dll ⦁AddItemMenuSE.toml 4. Using your mod manager e.g. Vortex. Install AddItemMenu
DO NOT UNZIP ANYTHING. Go to your Vortex, choose skyrim, click on the "mods 🔧" tab, then at the top in the orange hit "Install file from" and you will click on your new and revised "AddItemMenu - Ultimate Mod Explorer" ZIPPED file. This will download it into your Vortex. There shouldn't be any conflicting files, and NG SHOULD NOT SHOW UP IN VORTEX. Delete the zipped ng folder on your desktop. Drag your revised "AddItemMenu - Ultimate Mod Explorer" into your mods staging folder to keep it all organized.
I feel like the other methods don't talk about using 7zip to open the archives and I was confused for at least an hour. I truly hope this helps others like me or others who are simply just new to modding altogether. Best of luck!!!
What I posted here, it's still Leeshaw's method but a tad bit further in detail. Here is a screenshot of her original comment: Leeshaw's Method - original comment
This is going to sound weird as hell, I know-- But if you scroll throughout the comments, you'll see other people post links to the NG mod? Just like... try those too. Sometimes it works I swear! If this link doesn't work lmk??
What's the point of deleting and moving files around from within the compressed files? You can just install everything using your mod manager, then delete and/or move files as needed once they're unzipped. Doing it all inside the compressed archives is a completely unnecessary step. And, if you're installing AddItemMenu NG, there's also no real reason to delete the dll from regular additemmenu, since the NG one is going to overwrite it.
Uh even in vortex you have control over overwrite. You set up the basic overwrite rule, then in manage rule menu, you can alter specifically which file from which mod overwrites the other. For example, I can have AIM NG load before AIM as basic rule, then define in the rules menu so that the dll and pdb of AIM NG overwrites AIM's dll yet still technically loading before it,
Not that I don't have control, I just genuinely don't know how and *with* my learning curves? Oh my... That's honestly why I wrote the original comment. I tried to explain it via "casual conversation" way and like literally lay it out for others who may or may not be like meeeeee ya know? :)
Hello Recently started playing sse again, and using this mod is a must, but this latest version works fine till I click on the search or other , I get the little glowy bit and thats where it stops, its just not opening or taking a very long time n just doesnt ? My games 1.6 with matching skes, installed with mo2, this mod wo0rked fl;awlessly for me in past , wondering if its something in the last blasted update ?
Perhaps there is a problem with the menu's placement on the screen because I am also using an Ultrawidescreen and it is simply invisible. Have you been able to resolve the issue?
Same problem here. I've even tried changing the resolution of the game back to 16:9 1080p (Windowed) and I still don't see the menu. I'm going to try disabling the Widescreen fix mods to see if that helps.
Got Skyrim version 16640 here (the last BEFORE the Bugthesda update frenzy kicked in), and this Additem menu, despite being VERY aged... works! While all others didnt from Nexus XD. SKSE 2.2.3 here :D.
