hi, noob moder here, I've been trying to get my follower to assassinate my targets but they just walk up to the target and walk back to me without even swinging their weapon that's in their hand!
Unfortunately that appears to be a limitation of how the mod currently works. From the description:
While the player is sneaking, the follower won't initiate combat with nearby hostiles until after the enemy has actually attacked. Once either the follower or the player is attacked, the follower will enter combat like normal.
I can look into whether there's a way around this when a player commands the follower to attack, but it may be a while before I'm able to get to it.
I'm not surprised about SDA. Did you try the instructions from the description under "Using Unique Custom Followers"? Even with those instructions though, things might not work perfectly with followers like Serana that don't use the vanilla follower framework.
Regarding NFF, have you tried it with a follower other than Serana? I would expect them to be compatible (although I also think NFF has built-in functionality that duplicates what this mod does).
any patch or workaround on Legacy of the Dragonborn SSE pls? Looks like the followers can't recognize Sands' Torch as a torch they also need to put out when sneaking

I think this is already hard coded in the game. This mod can't add or change this. It's the default vanilla sneak system of a follower.
Very nice... But will they actually STFU? "Stealth" means they should either whisper or, preferably, remain silent. Instead, it's "I DON'T LIKE THIS PLACE!" or "BE CAREFUL!" in you ears as you all enter the next rooms, dungeons or wherever....
There's voice files, so it's not just a matter of compacting and ESL-flagging. But if you use something like ESPFE Follower to convert it, it should work fine.
