Notable Optional downloads DynDOLOD 3 Alpha 3D LOD For generating very detailed and beautiful 3D LOD's with Dyndolod 3 alpha. Please read up what you need apart from this file. Forums - Step Modifications | Change The Game is a great place to get started, GamerPoets - YouTube is a great channel too. Pregenerated 3D LODs for latest SFOLike the title suggests this is already generated 3D LODs for your SFO install so no need to read up about 3D LOD generation at all. Though i will say it has many advantages to know how to use DynDOLOD 3 Alpha, not just for SFO but for other mods as well. This file is huge because it contains the entire landscape generated in high detail! 3D LOD's makes an incredible difference so i do suggest using either of these two files. 3D LOD's kindly provided by z929669 !
I can't remember if I posted this here before so sorry if I did; I just wanted to report that SFO actually works great with Seasons of Skyrim (Turn of the Seasons) installed, at least for me! I can highly recommend it to people who want to try it out! Even without the .ini file for Seasons, the trees match the seasons. I think Turn of the Seasons does that automatically. It looks especially good in the area around Falkreath where the pines get replaced by the really heavy snow tundra pines, it makes the whole area look completely different, like a really hard winter, much better than the same area with any other flora/tree overhauls. I didn't notice any really huge performance impacts there either. And I really have the opposite of a NASA build PC (potato power here).
I have not played through EVERY season in every single area yet and there might be things (glitches, wrong trees idk whatnot) I missed but this tree / flora overhaul is the best for me when it comes to Seasons of Skyrim, personally. I use it together with Seasonal Landscapes which is an amazing grass mod when it comes to seasons and they work very well together (had to tweak performance a bit, SL was quite heavy tbf).
I should note that I'm using Turn of the Seasons. Which is probably what makes SFO work with Seasons of Skyrim so well. BUT I tried TotS with several other flora mods and it only looked this good when being used with Vurts SFO. So maybe it doesn't even need .ini tweaks :P Maybe I upload some screenshots below this post later.
I remember downloading this a while back, but had to uninstall due to my graphics card, or lack thereof (integrated one) not being able to handle it w/o running like OG Skyrim.
Just tossed in a GTX 4060 (as Skyrim/Oblivion/DDDA are pretty much the only games I play on PC, so I didn't need much) and is now a staple in my mod list. I love how it pairs with Cathedral Landscapes (SFO overwrites whatever it needs to) and how some grass tex from CL melds in with SFO without looking out of place.
Add that there are the pre generated lods (I have no idea what I was doing wrong with dyndolod, but trees still appeared out of nowhere when close to me) that thus far have loaded where they should and I am in Sovngarde
Where should this be in load order? I have it installed and running and it really doesn't look like it does anything, also should it be in the mcm? (it's not, for me)
you can give it highest priority if you want, if you think you have other stuff that is overriding it (sounds like it). MCM, no i'm not entirely sure what that is (haven't modded the game in ages) but no, i dont think it should be there, at least its not something i've made it work with. it's just a graphical replacer.
please let me know anybody if Solstheim Ash tree 3D lods will ever be added, or if it is possible to simple load the mesh for the ash trees from Happy Little Trees when generating DynDOLOD and SFO will use HLT's mesh. Currently SFO appears to fall back to a mesh of a fully leaved pine, and then when approaching it a dead pine which is Solstheim specific appears in. Combing the meshes of most if not all major tree mods, it seems only Happy Little Trees offers the full suite of DLC trees in full 3D lod. Would love to just use that mesh alone and keep SFO as nobody does the snowy pines as well, but currently swapped it out for HLT.
Hi yeah i been looking for a while now and think i might use the dyndolod after all. I saw a video how to do it and it does not look too tedious. It's because i read somewhere that you need to disable most mods or something to generate but the videos dont mention this at all. So i guess ill give it a try.
Is it this mod that uses a lot of RAM? Since i got this mod and higher res stars (not a big file) my crappy 16GB RAM gets filled up after a while and the game halts. Thanks.
EDIT: im playing on everything maxed out. Maybe there is an issue there? Looked around a bit but havent found anything specific.
I tried this mod with ulvenwald and trees started swaying like crazy, disabled ulvenwald and that fixed it but some objects that are supposed to be affected by wind became static for example those stacks of rocks with a piece of cloth between them that are atleast located on the way to greybeards in the mountain, disabled this and re enabled ulvenwald and they went back to normal.
Not sure i've ever said it's compatible with Uldenwald, or why it would be, since it's also tree replacer, or adder, depending on version of it.
Animations for my trees should be set to a minimum, if a mod changes it via the .esp, then it's not compatible, or my mod needs to have priority over one the changes the .esp.
