Version 2.5.3 - Added option to Force the Filmic Color Correction in the Config book and MCM menu for mods that require it to be always on even in interiors - Updated internal scripts that should result in a lil fps boost and get rid of odd flickering some people experienced. - Improved Contrast over most of the weathers, it was too low by default. Use the Vivid Weathers book to adjust your contrast preferences. Sadly I cant code MCM to work with Contrast, any MCM specialists out there? - Removed Debug messages

SEASONS and REASONS Many of you asked if i could impliment automaticly changed Seasons into Vivid weathers and i always replayd No. This is Why: Lets face it we all Mod skyrim to a extend where our savegames are in danger to get unstable. We do our best to find mods that do not cause any harm to our game and stay as easy on the ingame scripting as possible.... dont we? Well atleats most of the serious modders who lost Savegames do.
I know there are Weather mods out there who offer a automated change of Seasons over the time you are in the game wich at first sounds like a killer feature but in real i do not see it that way. What does that actually mean, change of seasons in a weather mod? On a noticable Level it comes down that you can experience snow weather on regions that are more tempered like the riften area. In my opinion there is much much more to a season then just let it snow in Riften. If you are in a winter season all trees and rocks everywhere is covered in snow and In spring everything should be blooming and green. For a real season to set in you would need to change a massive ammount of textures in the game to actually make it look convincing. So you end up enabling and disabling mods anyhow during gameplay and for that i provided the season plugins. The season plugins wont destroy any savegames and cause conflicts with other scripts, but by having a massive ammount of scripts that are changing alot of variables depending on what time you are in are is a point of failure especially if there are thousands of other scripts running from other mods.
In short: I do not implement that feature because it raises the risk of corrupted savegames and failures without any real benefit to you because you need to enable and disable mods anyhow to change to a convincing season experience.
hi! it turned out the mcm remove button bugged the whole system as i cleaned up. it was kind of a mess and everythign failed to recompile also maybe due to the fact i have not done the MCM in the first place. Whenever i find someone who knows MCM coding and handling- the button goes back. but for stability reasons i had to remove it.
Hi, I am using skyrim se 1.5.97.0.8 with requiem and with custom start. I use MO2 as mod manager. The new x25 (2.53) version doesn't work, so i use old version(2.42). Maybe anyone knows why it doesn't work? When i deleted vivid weathers x25 and loaded last save file, the game didn't tell that im missing such esp, but with older version it does tell.
I loved the update during the day, the new snow and rain looks fantastic.
But alas, I cannot use this, nights are completely unplayable, even at bright setting, no ENB, everything is pitch black, light sources emmit such a faint light that they illuminate an area of ~5cm radius around them, torches are worthless, spells illuminate a little more, about 7cm around them... The days become full of joy and wonder, but the nights become the void of the abyss.
Sorry, my dood, I tried. Great weather, though, when you can see it, it's a work of art!
thats odd, that shouldnt be, have you checked your gamma values not to be too high (brightness to low) or is your black value extremley off on your monitor? also try a "coc Riverwood" in the mian menu so you start with a fresh savegame. Sooo many problems cus of stuck imagespaces in the past
I played for about 6 in-game days, tried several places, several brightness settings, nothing, just black black nights. Dawnstar was the brightest place, for some reason, but as soon as I leave the gates, black black black.
I'll give it another goal tomorrow with an older version that I know have brighter nights. Funny enough, interiors are not dark at all, they are all okay, only nights are black as the deep void.
I'll also try a fresh start to see if it changes anything, but tomorrow, now is bit late where I am, also thanks for the tip about the new save, if it works I'll just play it over again, I don't mind starting over.
Sorry for posting links but I can't get it to post images... Also, some places are far darker than that, Orphan Rock is absolutely black, can't see a thing. Setup: filmic, 2k textures, SFO patch; in game I have bright nights, bright interiors, 6000 particles, gamma is 1.0000, high saturation and low bloom. Putting moonlight on Ultra helps a bit, but only a bit, it's still too dark to play, it just makes the terrain barely visible.
Nevermind... Found the problem, it was the filmic shader, I thought something was off because interior cells were ok, they were not dark as the void, so I reinstalled the mod with the same setting but classic shader and voila, now I can see again.
intresting, filmic shadrers usualym ake the nights brigher as they have no cut off blacks but then i have a calibrated graphics monitor so the black and grey values are like constant visible. Migh really be a different monitor setup problem there for the fain black and grey values.
I'm really sorry to say this but I really don't like this new X25 update, and I've been using Vivid Weathers since around 2015. I love bright and sunny days, with a perfectly clear blue sky. Ever since the X25 release came out, when I cast Clear Skies there are still upper level cirrus clouds in the sky, the sky itself isn't a perfect blue like it used to be, and the sun is washed out too. All of the colors in the world itself seem washed out now too, as if they have some sort of filter or sepia tone on them. The pre-X25 version of this mod was far superior in my opinion when it comes to vibrant colors and crystal clear blue skies. I've been playing with some of the presets when reinstalling the mod, but no adjustments seem to restore the original look that this mod used to have. I hate to say this after loving this mod for 10 years, but I might have to uninstall this and find a different weather mod.
i fixed a lil bit of that washed out look in the last update, but i think what you are looking for are the classic shaders who has this color "umph" to it. Also i didnt changed any cloudlayers on the update concernign visibility. Feel free to change your preferences on colors laos in the vivid weather book. Contrast is sure what you are looking for as your setting. (also if oyu use a enb make sure its compatible with the latest version)
Awesome update! I've used about every weather mod released at this point, decided to give Vivid Weathers another go when I saw it was updated after messing around with so many others trying to perfect post processiing in CS. Vivid looks the best so far in my testing, with my post processing setup I get bright days, dark nights. Snow is bright white without being blown out, sun is nice and bright as well. Looks great overall!
I've been absolutely loving this mod! Though I do have a few questions, keep in mind I don't like using other lighting mods or weather mods, so yours is the only one I use.
1) Why sometimes on rare occasions is it raining when there is mostly clear skies?
2) Is there anyway you could have different options for Interiors, instead of it all being just 1 setting? For example, in Caves/Crypts, etc. I'd love to have it on Doom to make it as realistic as possible, but for regular buildings, etc. I'd like it to be normal. Would be quite amazing to have these separate settings.
3) Why is Winterhold so bright? Darkness its like daylight out, and during the day its very bright. Every other area is perfectly fine. Again I have no other mods that effect light/weather.
4) Snow also, if it starts to snow at night, when I have the light turned down to 1, it'll get bright again, when it should actually be getting darker due to the snowstorm.
1. hmmm welcome to skyrim quicklyness ;) but i havent experienced that yet honestly.
2. no sadly not, thats not how controllable skyrim is, skyrim just know exterior and iterior colors, the rest is up for all the interior mods to change to your preferences.
3. winterhold? hm if you use Skyuiyou can have a look in the info tab of the mod configuration of vivid weathers and tell me what weather id is present
4. thats something i need to test out to replicate
For #4, its rather easy to test out very early on, when you go up to the bleakfalls barrow, you'll notice as you come around the bend to where you first start to see it after the little watch tower, if its snowing, and its night, it actually gets lighter as the snow starts to kick in.
I've noticed it happening at random moments in the nothern part of the map, but it isn't consistent.
Even i choise brighter nights i cant see where is the door without marker. I am using Vanilla Enb 2 but even i disabled enb still pitch black. When i disabled vivid weathers i can see the door but night looks like day. Vanilla nights to bright.
Edit: I set enb brightness to 2.5 (default 1.6) i can see the door but night become day. With or without enb how to fix this? I prefer without enb solution.
I didnt know that. I always thought if there is no req then i can use it. Anyway i tried several enbs with vivid weather's last update and i didnt like most of them. Vanilla enb was good not it has pitch black issue (above). So i decided to delete all enb contents and use only vivid weather but pitch black issue still there even i set night brightness to brighter nights.
Here with and without vivid comparison. No enb, reshade or community shaders.
With Vivid (night brightness set to bright)
Without Vivid
I'm using relightning skyrim i disabled that and try result was same. I'm trying to say; I dont wanna nights looks like day or darker nights which i barely see anything i just wanna nights looks like nights but i wanna see my around. Vivid weathers my favorite weather mod since save to use Enb.
Yep i am making nights darker, There is a complex system of what moonphase there is and if its overcast or clear sky that all depends on the night brightness. going out in the medieval times in a overcast night without moon is something noone should considder without lantern.
Making darker nights not issue. The issue there is barely difference between normal and bright nights settings. Like normal brightness value is 0 brighter's value is 0.1. I will add comparison for these Normal - Clear - Bright Nights settings.
Lots of ENB presets disable the the games imagespaces functionality. You'll know this if things like fade to black transitions don't work with your ENB active. Don't know if Vanilla ENB is one of those. But it would mean that such things added by mods and such might not actually have any visual effect in game. You can add the functionality to any ENB preset (instructions here: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/dyfkhi/got_fade_to_black_working_in_rudy_enb/)
Otherwise I strongly recommend Lightweight ENB (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/85587) which has internal presets for different weather mods. Vivid one would probably need updating/tweaking though.
Thanks, I really like the nights too dark, I want to get lost in the night, take advantage of my flashlight and torch in Skyrim and not depend on the Darker Night mod. Lastly... please don't make the nights too bright, since most weather mods at night look very bright, even looking like an anime XD
The issue is not darker nights; the issue is there are 4 options for night brightness and all of them almost same. Im not complaining why nights too dark. My complain is why these 4 options have same result. Basically i'm trying to say; you want pitch black nights that you cant see anything without torch use darker nights options i want what's going on my around i use clear nights option. I dont want nights looking day.

Two questions:
Does the update address the horizon seams?
How do I remove the book from inventory?
Also have you ever noticed horizon seams when you are on a mountain? Did the update fix that?
