I have received some messages over the past year or so asking if CoT has been abandoned. The simple answer is no. When the time is right I will dust off the Creation Kit and get my hands dirty once again. Until then, I hope you keep enjoying what the mod brings to your gameplay and I will see you down th road.
jjc71 when will you do the same for fnv and fo3 version of your project reality mk1??? they are so buggy yet the most beatifull weather mod in existence
When you get back to it, this could use some minor tweaks: options to adjust frequency of storms and volume of thunder, otherwise this does everything I want and expect. Good work.
Hello. CoT is incompatible with some mod? CoT crash often, and i have strange glitchs, my PG begins to rotate on itself... Without CoT this problems not exist.
well the mod was last updated in 2017 they said in 2019 that its not dead than updated again sayin 2023 is the year, its now 2025 I think all hope is gone, and they have been lost to the void
I have used this mod for a long time. Way better weather and climates. I just loved it. but as Bethesda updated the game my own kept getting laggier and laggier. I checked all my other mods and none of them were having issues. I disabled this mod and the gameplay lag has all but disappeared. I can only wonder what happened, but I didn't want to have to disable it. I really love this mod and it brings so much emersion however the delay was so bad that i'm now forced to remove it.
I don't know what happened and I really appreciate what this mod brings to the game, but it makes my game almost unplayable at times now. Thanks for the memories. :(
I used it for a long time, but today it is so outdated with the rest of the mods. I checked my 900 mods one by one because I had lag on the outside, I applied patches, I reduced graphics and there was never a solution. I never distrusted CoT, but when I removed everything it works like a charm. A pity because it is the one that pleases the most for its realism, but anyway I have to look for a replacement.
I was running into a Crash-To-Desktop (CTD) bug after following the exact uninstall instructions from the description and managed to fix it after digging through these posts to find the solution, so here's a quick reference for anyone stuck in the same position.
Updated uninstall instructions for this mod: (Please note these directions may not apply to non-PC players. If someone has a different fix that worked on a separate console, please list it below.)
First and foremost, here's an obligatory short list of things you should check if your installation of the mod isn't working, just in case one of these things fixes the bug you're encountering. I don't expect that these will fix everyone's problems since many of us seem to be doing everything right and running into CTD anyway. Regardless, here's a basic checklist:
Do you have another mod that requires this mod? Are the appropriate mods activated?
When were all related mods last updated?
Do you have the right versions of those mods installed for the version of the game you're playing (i.e., SE, AE, etc)?
If you have CrashLogger installed (or some similar mod), what does the crash log say?
Once you've exhausted the basic checks listed above, here's how to actually uninstall it:
Move outdoors, contrary to the directions in the description.
Press the "~" (tilde) key on your keyboard. This is usually found in the upper left corner on an English QWERTY keyboard, but this may differ on other keyboards.
Type the command "fw 81a" and press the Enter key. This sets the weather to a clear, sunny day as a safeguard.
Save the game (save and quicksave will both work) and then exit to desktop.
Uninstall CoT and any other CoT-dependent mods (I was using CoT Bug Fixes to resolve the loud thunder problem). You may need to reinstall other mods as well so that you can change their installation settings/presets to accommodate for the uninstallation of CoT (e.g., Sounds of Skyrim has installation presets for compatibility patches with various weather mods, including CoT).
Start up your game again. It will likely prompt you by saying "some creation content is missing, do you want to search for it on Creation Club" and "your save may not work right with missing content, do you want to continue loading it". You can say no to the first and yes to the second to continue into your most recent save.
After following these steps, my save took longer than usual to load, but it no longer crashed when attempting to do so. Hopefully these steps work for you all as well!
Hi, I'm confused since there is no text either on the page or the installer, what is the difference between the hardcore dungeon module and the darker one ? Thanks
Help!!! I'm using dark dungeons and warm interiors but I find it just too dark indoors that I can hardly see anything, and candles and stoves seem not to cast any light! It's not "warm" at all, but even colder and darker than default experiences! Worse still, every time I or my follower hit on an enemy indoors, my screen turns totally dark that it's just impossible to see anything! Literally dark, all black! Does anyone have the same problems? What should I do now? HELP!!!
I really like it! Just a bit annoying with the never ending storm sounds after entering a house/tavern to escape bad weather. I'll def re-install this mod once that gets fixed or becomes adjustable <3
the mod DESPERATELY needs a "no thunder" option. the horribly obnoxiously loud thunder that goes on constantly for 12+ hours is just ear wrenching and ruins the entire game. the "lightning effects" sound setting dosent have any effect on this, and as far as i can tell its literally just a 5-15 second looping clips of constant thunder peals. and honestly, other than that noise, and completely butchering the lighting so that you need to carry around a torch inside peoples houses i cant even tell what this mod is supposedly doing.
Yeah, this mod gives me CTD when my character was walking outside. When i see the crash log, it's about something divided by zero and the culprit is this mod. Had to disable it.
