I know this is a super old thread, but I'm running into the same issue. I'm running SKSE and the unofficial Skyrim patch, but the enchantments don't show up on the enchantment table despite having bought the books and reading them.
Not from me, I haven't touched Skyrim in a long time. mfvicli recently made a Thaumaturgy patch for my other mod which is based off of this one, Alll Enchantments Unlocked. Maybe ask them very nicely.
I loaded this on a relatively new save but i can't find any of the books and farengar wont sell them is this an ae bug or am i doing something wrong, they all show up in the console aswell is there some kind of cheat chest I could access?
"(and there are plans to distribute them throughout the world)"
That third-part addon for your addon added descriptions for the enchant books https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/31298 (it made Sergius a vendor and the only one vendor for those tomes, sadly the barter dialogue line doesn't show up) : do you plan to add those descriptions as well?
Also, the enchant tomes are unlevelled or the "big" ones appear after you get enough levels / enchanting skills?
(Can I suggest an optional method? Instead of spelltome-like they should turn into equipment pieces to behave as weapon/armors yet they offer near-to-zero damage/protection, in their disenchanted version they have low value. That way it wouldn't be a big deal that you destroy them so the "perfectly good item" spirit of this mod still remain; their visuals are still scroll/books (or carved runes/skulls?). By using this method those enchantments description will be added by the vanilla engine itself (and so no more player's guess-work about what they do) and the one and only script that would get implemented by this proposed method is way less prone to fail: because it will just prevent you to equip those pieces (or you can?). So using this method you can disenchant them just like any vanilla weapon/armor/jewel/cloth and you will get some enchanting XP in the process because it's all entirelly moved by the basic game logic. That should garantee zero odd issues like the one reported by Nirf. Another indirect advantage is that you can unclutter the mages vendor spell tome section -with some spell addons they'll get TONS of new spells/tomes wich force you to massacrate your mousewheel to find "that" enchantment, yet 90% of times they still have very little armor/weapon pieces- since those enchanted pieces are now splitted between armor and weapon types, so this way you can "filter" the enchantment type ("attack" and "defence" if you see what I mean) just by clicking on the inventory type section. And lastly, by doing that it should somewhat become simpler to add them as RND loot pieces.)
Hi. I didn't know about that addon. I am glad someone got around to doing the things I didn't. There were plans to add the books to various levelled lists, but I just sort of stopped modding Skyrim at the time.
During development we considered using armour pieces in some way, but couldn't find a good way to set off the disenchantment mechanics without still having to actually use a disenchantment table, which wouldn't feel very much like reading a book. If anyone knows how to get around that, please let me know or feel free to make and upload a new version of this mod.
Very nice Mod, however, it's would better off Serguis Turrianus' vendor to sell other, it's make sense due his skill, and not had to see many other mage sell this one time used buy book, it's not reused as it's one time book, long term every time I see, I see ton of book all over.
So I think one npc Serguis turrianus selling this, no other mage, so easy to deal with other mage vendor. I know there is patch, but it's for summermyst version, some don't want summermyst version.
Found this mod in a late night Google search after hearing about an enchanting issue from some people on Discord. Specifically how some enchanted items fail to show up anymore after you pass a certain level, making them impossible to obtain without console. Really good mod to get around that issue.
Haven't tried it in-game yet, but I do have a small suggestion based on the image. Instead of categorizing the spell tomes into the five preexisting magic schools, how about trying to get a new book texture for the enchanting tomes and group them like that? Would remove the need to use "Enchanting Tome" as a prefix and would be a bit more lore-friendly. Of course, may need to find an artist who can create that texture. For the texture I was thinking the enchanting school's symbol in the middle of the book and the background colored a magenta, it'd be styled similar to the vanilla spell tome texture.
Regardless, looking forward to using it on my next playthrough!
I'm glad you found the mod useful. A new book texture would be wonderful, but alas is beyond my abilities. I would be happy to implement it if someone were to create it.
I love this mod, no more missing out on that ONE enchantment that I can never seem to find out in the world. My only gripe is that I never know what I have and have not learned already if I've used the table to disenchant something instead of buying the book.

At least this is still useful in preventing the inventories of every spell shop from being overwhelmed.

Thank you for your kind words.

Tells you if you've read a book or learned the enchantment of items.
