Also here to ask this guy what the "problem with the load order" was (what was it??? Nexus reports a conflict with UIExtensions, but placing it neither before nor after that causes any effect!)
ugh why doesn't it work? i get the prompt and everything but for some reason i can't dye a thing...nothing shows up! even regular things like iron armor is not displayed
Looks like the description is very serious when saying "ability to dye supported armor". It seems that only this stockings, Fancy Dress and this whatsoever steel plate armor is supported. No vanilla. Making this mod quiet half-baken even if it's a cool idea to dye armor/clothes. A pity ...
Ok, apologies initially. My 1st reaction was a smart-ass comment.
Armor is attached to an ID. EVERYTHING has an ID. So, an example would be Nordic Carved armor (chest) has the ID of XX01cd97. The XX is where the DLC MOD is in your base game load order. MOST load orders go as follows Skyrim LO #0 Update LO#1 Dawnguard LO#2 Hearthfires LO#3 Dragonborn LO#4 CC content LO#5- however many you are running
So the XX would be 04 as Nordic carved was released with the Dragonborn DLC. So when you see an item ID online with an XX, now you know what the XX is for.
So NOW you would load up this mod in SEedit, or I assume creation kit, and simply add more lines for each armor item you wish to have to option to dye. I will assume there are codes for the dyes, and I would also assume, due to mesh construction, some dye codes would nto work on some armor items iwthout additional work. But on the surface, you COULD add every armor made and every dye, to this mod..
IMO, find one of those sky patcher gurus here on Nexus and see if they will do it and release a mod that grabs keywords, applies the dye code, and ZIP ZIP!
FOR ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS, THIS IS HOW IT WORKED FOR ME: (Be noted that I just tested the complete overlay of the armor and this way it's not 100% guarantited to work by the old comments of the modder, and it seems it works better with armor rather than clothes)
- Install both the main and optional files - On vortex, left click on the dyable male plate to show where it's installed - Go SKSE\Plugins\NiOverride\TintData\Armor - Go to the normal Skyrim version of this mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56420?tab=files) and download only vanilla armor xmls (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56420?tab=files&file_id=1000155450) - Open them in rar, and copy the .xml files (not as folders but as loose files) inside this armor one
If you're wearing the amor piece it should appear in the menu now. I tested going in and out of the game and it kept the dye.
Not really, but I did this manually actually. I said to use vortex in case you don't know where the mod installs, but it should still be this path (SKSE\Plugins\NiOverride\TintData\Armor). If you find these folders it should work.
