Unless I'm missing something obvious, I don't think this works for burned notes (notes using the "HighPolyNoteBurned" inventory art). I could only get a burned note to show up as a note by changing its inventory art.
No. I wondered the same, and disabled it from my testing load order. Nothing changed, icons seem correct on things like recipes and notes. This mod no longer appears necessary.
Yep! I was wrong, apparently; disabling the fix on a save that already had it applied was a stupid test, and I'm a certified dumb. On a fresh game install and nothing but SKSE and SkyUI, without this mod you'll still see the incorrect icon on Notes. One more annoying little thing that needs to stay in the load order for now! :P
I don't know if the SKSE team is aware of this mod. SKSE provides hooks for other mods, but I don't think it includes patches for changes in the engine behavior between LE and SSE/AE. The details of that engine change are on the mod's description page.
The same issue can appear on LE if the mod developer fails to mark the book/note/letter with the correct flag when creating the item. I also created a TES5Edit script to fix that.
The naming pattern of all these versions is so confusing. SKSE is a mod, but could also be read as Skyrim Special Edition. Then this mod is for the Anniversary edition, but I presume still works on SE 1.6.1179 without the anniversary upgrade?
Hello,I came across this mod while browsing and I have to say, such a small part can do so much. Really great. Is there - I've been looking for a really long time but didn't find anything about it - no LE version of it? And yess, I know ... ok ..... LE is old LE is unstable - but no !! LE works perfectly if you install it properly. Thanks to Sinitar Gaming, my LE is almost 100% stable; with tons of mods .And by the way, thanks to every modder who converts SE to LE.
I don't know what your experiences with Sinitar are or whether you have other reasons for your comment. I can only say that I built the base game exactly according to his instructions!!! at least at the beginning, fixes, patches etc. And I can only say that with hundreds of mods (esp merged etc.) I have a 100% stable game, no crashes. His tips and presentations for choosing enb`s or whatever is an excellent overview. He never said: you must... you have, ... just look and choose.A tutorial in my native language was too slalvic for me and ultimately not stable. My experience. But thanks for your opinion anyway, that's what the community is for.
I've personally noticed issues with his mod recommendations also. I am very careful about checking bug reports and comments for stability concerns and Sinitar has heartily endorsed mods with huge bug report columns that are reflecting actual instability and not just user errors. I still watch him, but I make a point to leave a dislike when he does this. If you are going to curate mods then you need to take their stability into account. There are probably lots of noob modders with broken games thanks to his videos.
@glacialmind101 The post is a bit old but I just want to say that in many cases, bug count here on nexus doesn't actually reflect is a mod is stable or no. Many people don't know how to mod correctly, creating bug reports that were only created because of their own mistakes (for example installing two incompatible mods and then complaining is not working). When I first started modding Skyrim back in 2016, I did this as well and would not download any mods with reported bugs, but now I know of many amazing mods with high bug counts.
@ZonaryQuasar From my post... 'bug report columns that are reflecting actual instability and not just user errors' We all know that people mess up and misidentify a user error as a bug. This is no great revelation to anyone. That being said, where there is smoke, there is fire and typically mods which have massive bug reports and are not particularly complicated to install, do have some kind of issue that is driving those reports. It's always easy to crap on the users on any given platform because they have the least power, but I have literally lost count of how many times random users in posts or bug reports have salvaged my load order.
The SKSE64 2.2.X download should work with that version, provided that you have the appropriate version of Address Library. I have not tested it, but from the comments on other mods that use Address Library it sounds like it does work.

Does this work for 1.6.353? The latest version is giving me an dll error. Which version are actually supported?
Edit: There is a version (1.2.5) in the old files that works for 1.6.353. It might be worthwhile to put this as an optional file rather than an old file. This is probably more suited to be there than the numerous files for versions older than 1.5.97
The pre-1.5.97 versions in the optional files are ones that users requested, for all of those files I only recompiled the version 1.5.97 source code with the appropriate SKSE64 build.

Is this working on 1.6.1170?
THANKS
Ok thanks!

The SE version has a SKSE plugin because Bethesda removed support for the value that tells SkyUI if the item is a note or a book.
In LE it is other named, so I did not find it.
;-)
Thank you.

I looked through the code on GitHub, but I could not tell how it was setting the note icon.
