Hey, I really enjoy this mod. I'm having a problem with the meshes disappearing before their out of FOV and popping in after. I've noticed I've had similar issues with meshes imported with ck-cmd. Do you (or anyone else) know of a fix/workaround?

Nvm lol, optimizing them for LE instead of SSE seem to have worked. Weird.

Hi i am having problems with the quality of the textures generated. Its always blocky and fuzzy despite converting small gifs with around 50 frames that are only 1 sec long. Changing the texture size on the config file is doing nothing for me

You can use power of 2 sizes like 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192 to upscale textures. The maximum size currently is 8192, but please be aware that 8192 may have a size of several hundred megabytes. I have no plans to update this tool at the moment. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Hello i wanted to attach a gif to the roofs of Riverwood but it stays static.

It works on door and chest but not for static meshes

The tool only supports animated objects, and I currently have no plans to update it.

setting game data path in .config file
      e.g.
      GameDataPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data

Has someone managed to use this to replace logo.nif (mainmenu wallpaper) ?
I tried for a bit but the most I achieve was a small brillant white pic that wasn't centered nor animated...

Unfortunately, while I'm not exactly proficient enough to work out anything more complex, given that I tested a working gif nif in the actual game world, and the same nif was not animated on the title screen, I can only conclude that something about main menu prevents the animations from working.

Very neat little tool, thank you so much!
Can be used with FO4 as well, with some manual reworking in NifSkope and paint.net.

    I followed the steps:
    1. texconv.exe put together with gif2nif.exe in a same folder
    2. launch gif2nif.exe to create gif2nif.config and GifMeshTemplate.nif, GameDataPath changed to where my data directory is.
    3. Drag drop gif files to "gif2nif.exe".

but it says my folder doesn't exist, changed several times but always says it doesn't exist. for test I started texconv.exe, and then again drag drop gif files to "gif2nif.exe", now it seems to work, the meshes \ gif \ and texture \ gif \ folders are there, but they are empty.
i also gave to gif2nif start as administrator in property.

    some advice, please ???

maybe it will help others... not work for me... i have folders but no .nif / .dds...
      i also re-check that there aren't non-english characters(i'm italian if matter)...

edit: i try step by step to change the path folder to the previus one... but for how they are named,
the only solution is to put folder path directly to "D:\ "  (my second storage without OS)...
so this gif2nif it self work

now the files are there, but just to let know, when i try to open for edit the .dds file, it's say " Unsupported DXGI format(98) "

so thanks to Yu5h1 for this tool... endorsed

Hey, I'm hoping you can help me with something here.
I setup the G2Nif as described and converted the nif, but whenever I open the nif file I see the file in pink. There is no textures, even though the texture path is set.

Did you download "texconv.exe" and put it together with GIF2NIF.exe ?
where link was marked in Mod requirement.
Is your file path contain Non-English characters ?
It may cause texture path appears garbled and texture lost

It's still pink. i have no Non-English characters in my file path and texconv.exe is in the same folder as gif2nif.exe.
      do anyone have a fix?

Could you update it for custom mesh?

Special edition does not have TagOfSpecificShapeName="gif". But LE does. Can you update SE too please?
