I've looked everywhere for a mod to do this... it seems no such mod exsits... until now... even though people have been asking for it for years.
There may well be a more eligent way to do it but this way is simple and it works :) Okay you have to go collect it from a cave.... a small price to pay I think :D
I know there are those that want this to happen via a conversation with a NPC but.... That would invole written a quest with dialogue and finding voice actors to do it right... I'm not interested in going down that route for this very basic simple to use mod :)
You drop the bag - open it - put all your stolen items in - close the bag - all your items are returned without a stolen flag in sight.
By mistake in the original v1.0 I left the dependency for GS and GD as masters... They are not needed. You can either download the new version 1.01 or easily remove this dependency yourself nothing else was changed.
If you don't find Fonaya's body where it should be then... Her corpse is not flagged as perminent so 3 days after you entered the cave system the game engine probably did a clean up and removed the dead body. In which case to get her back all you need to do is disable mod, go into game save, exit, re-enable mod, then go to cave and her body should be there.
Hey there!!!! Love the mod. Just wanted to stop by for and leave a quick thing for those who are just trying to have it spawn on them so they don't have to go searching for it in the cave. This mod works great.
NOTE to anyone who just wants to use the mod without having to search for it in the cave- You will have to enter the command on the consol in game by pressing "~" key. This will open a menu at the bottom, that's your console where you can enter in commands that will cause certain effects to happen. One of those effects is that you can spawn items on your character. The command you are going to type is the following: Player.AddItem XX00590A 1 (note, the XX is unique to each individual players setup) You can find this number by running xEdit. Just run the whole thing and once its done it will present all the mods and cells on the left pane. At the bottom of the left pane you can search for mod by name. Just type swag. Expand swag and scroll down to the misc. object. Click it and search for the aforementioned number XX00590A. Copy your version of it to a notepad and start the game. Once in the game simply press the ~ key and enter Player.AddItem XX00590A 1
That's it. It shows up in front of you. If you loose it just reenter the command. If you change your load order of course the number will change and you will need to do it again.
Quick use guide- steal some stuff. Go to inventory, drop swag bag, pick it back up. It will ask you if you want to use it. Select yes. Then it removes stolen item tags on items in your inventory and puts it back in inventory. That simple.
Once again, thank you to the mod author. If you want to pin this I am sure it would help a lot of people out. I know personally I was reluctant to try the mod when I heard that I had to go search for it in a cave because I want to be able to test to make sure the mod works before commitment. This will allow people to test the mod first. Again, thank you.
Could you make this also for Oblivion? No mod currently does this. Which makes it impossible to remove the stolen tag from items with 0 values such as keys specifically.
This breaks immersion over time since if playing a thief and not seen it makes no sense that they are marked stolen.
I haven't played Oblivion in over 10yrs and I doubt I'll play it again any time soon... but if I do I'll look into creating a similar type of bag for it. I am surprised that such a mod doesn't exist for it though.
Funny enough I saw some similar mod from maybe 10 years ago tried it and it didnt work. At least not anymore.
If you give it a go its not a bad game, having a good time doing it up today and it works controller and everything with NorthernUI. Happy elder scrolling!!!

Worked perfectly for me in SE but I can't get it to work with AE. :/
I highly doubt it was any sort of mod conflict, as all I had installed already before installing this one, was UNP Renewal, and a fix for the Winterhold bridge.
I'm getting an orange bell icon next to it in the plugins tab in Vortex that tells me it has missing masters.
For now I'm just using the "setownership" console command, but it's pretty tedious. I really miss this mod, so if anyone has any suggestions, either for another mod that does the same, or a way to get this one working with AE, I'd really appreciate it. I don't have any experience at all with creating or editing mods.
Okay... first check you actually have all the masters They are: Update.esm, all 3 DLC's and the "Unofficial Skyrim Specical Edition Patch.esm" Sorry I didn't list that one as a requirement, will correct that now.
The only thing different is I have not played the game for a couple of months, I have just downloaded The bag of holding. Cannot figure out how that works. All I want to do is take off the stolen tag
Yes "The Bag of Holding" is a bit more complex Hope you mean the "Ultimate Bag of Holding"
Currently I don't have SSE installed. Will look at reinstalling it this weekend and see if anything jumps out. The only thing I can think of though is a game update has broke something.
The swagbag does load and it is in my inventory. I can still use it. But when I put the stolen items in the bag, they stay there. I can put the stolen things in, they just don't come back out. When I dope the bag all the stolen tags are gone. If I then take them out they become stolen again. Sorry I should of explained this better in the first message.
One thing you could try is uninstall the mod do a clean save then reinstall the mod. A bit of a pain I know but Skyrim can be funny about info stored in it's saves. Oh... and don't forget to remove your items from the bag first ;)
I've not had a chance to reinstall SSE yet so can't check anything else out just yet.
I love this. I will now be able to remove the stolen tag from the items I take from my follower. (there's a bug that makes anything that you give to a follower have a stolen tag)

I use this mod to fix gear getting tagged stolen when pickpocketing from hostile NPCs.
I tried using help swag, help swagbag
comes up with nothing.
I'm trying to use this mod in Enderal and since Fonaya doesn't exist in this world I was hoping I could just spawn the bag with placeatme.
help "swagbag" 0
?
Type:
help "swag bag" 4
The id is xx00590a
If someone can help with i would apreciate it very much.
The 'xx' is your load order for this mod.

Have you added a new mod or updated anything ?
Maybe a few more details please :)
Hope you mean the "Ultimate Bag of Holding"

But if someone wants to come up with the code for it, then I'll be happy to add it.
You're a genius.
This is the only mod that works in Nexus.
