Note that if you use a retexture/high-poly mod for children (such as SkyChild), you'll need to patch Sophie in xEdit, or else she'll end up being reverted to a vanilla child with the blackface bug. As far as I can tell, she's the only NPC that this mod affects (and I'm not entirely sure why).
I wanted to update from TKAA to SkyChild, but I had adopted one of the children from TKAA, so I wanted to get unadopt them before installing SkyChild. After trying countless console command suggestions that didn't work, I finally tried this, which seems to work perfectly.
Tragically (or hilariously), when I installed the mod, booted up the game, and loaded up my save in Markarth, my Lucia began to stare at me before backing away slowly, as if she knew what I was planning to do. Welp, I'm a monster I guess.
Does not let me adopt more than 2, even though i had 4 before using it with multiple adoption mod. Adoption dialogue is there but they never come to the home., except the first 2 I adopted.
I adopted Lucia, which was fine, except when I came to marry Sylgja, she required a home with a bed for Lucia, this is not ideal for my game, I would have Sylgja live in her house - at least while I deal with The Rift and Eastmarch.
I have used this mod to unadopt Lucia, and now Sylgja has accepted her own home (no child-beds). Next I'll use a follower framework or something to house Lucia comfortably.
Thank you for porting this mode. I have couple of children mods and Sofia got buggeg, I addopted her and she never went to my home. Tried console commands, did not work, but this mod worked and now she id at my home in Solitude :)
This mod doesn't actually unadopt children. It only dismisses them from your home. The number of adopted children will still be the same after using this mod.
Would be awesome if we could re-adopt the same children again. Then this mod would be perfect for those who needs to make Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions work. Bummer how you can't re-adopt though.
Unadoption Mod can let your 1-6kids go back to their place. If you adopted 6kids,the adoption will shut down.Run this mod, they can go away and can be readopt.Make sure it is the last one in you load order. For adopted 2kids before you install Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions SE,it will work fine.(1-2kids will work fine).child3-child6 will not effect. They will go away, but do not return to they are AI package,so we need to readopt them and run unadoption. It is only effect child1 and child2.(If you want to readopt soon, don't need to care about that. )When you want to readopt kids, press '~' open the console, mouse click the kid to show their ID and type addfac 03004290 3 It will open the adoption.Don't need to set the 'setrelationshiprank'. --------- addfac 0x004290 1 Adoptable, met addfac 0x004290 3 Urchin, met addfac 0x004290 10 Orphanage, standard addfac 0x004290 12 Orphanage, generic All can work, choose one only. -------- When you done it,uninstall this mod,or let this mod up in your load order(load faster), Skyrim Unadoption Mod.esp HearthfireMultiKid.esp Make sure the 'adoptable quest' and 'adoption quest' and 'orphanage quest' have not overwrite other mods.

Sorry, I haven't been active for a very long time. I will try to reproduce the problem and look for a solution that is easier.
I was able to re-adopt the same kids by using the console command of:
Nevermind, it only goes trough the dialogue and I can't get any kid (even new) come to the actual house or call me mother.setrelationshiprank [Child ID] 4
setrelationshiprank player 4
addfac xx03004290 1
If it doesn't work, change the number 3 to any number you got Hearthfire in your load order.
Note that I had this mod uninstalled already during this.
addfac 03004290 3
It will open the adoption.Don't need to set the 'setrelationshiprank'.
