Alright, that's it, folks. From now on any comment saying this is dumb or racist will be deleted. It is still open for the lore discussion, it is fun and interesting, but saying I "white-washed" him is no longer welcomed as a comment. I have had enough of it in the past two days. I gave you a black washed Nord to make you happy. I made a Khajiit. Next, I am going to create a whole new race for him. Thank you for your time and not so kind words, I still appreciate it.
Edit - going and saying the people calling this racist are stupid will also get your comment deleted.
"It looks like the people have a problem with Ebony Warrior's skin not being "ebony" when he is a Nord." - Prime targets for the ignore list, no?
What sense is there in a Redguard wanting to go to Sovngarde? Why would "ebony" in his name even be referring to what you can't see (His skin), rather than the blatantly obvious fact that the guy is wearing Ebony Armor, head to toe, when he confronts you? It's a moniker of status, not of intrinsic and immutable characteristics; Ebony Armor is some of the best armor a warrior can get his hands on, it shows how much he's done and accomplished.
It doesn't need to be said, explained or even artificially pointed out in any other way; It's immediately visible. You see the guy and you know you're dealing with a veteran. The name further reinforces all this, by the very fact that you don't even know his actual name; His title IS his identity. A "bigger than life" sort of situation, made into a character.
You'd need to be suffering from a severe case of Twitter-brain to take Bethesda's idiotic and lazy disregard of lore accuracy and turn fixing that into some kind of real life social issue.
Not sure where these people find room to whine, when all you did was put in the effort to be lore-accurate where Bethesda lacked the respect for their own creation to do so. Don't waste your time on these people. Watching paint dry would be more productive than indulging their insane whims.
On a completely different note; (Don't know if this has been done by someone in the modding community yet) It'd be awesome if someone made a mod that injects the Ebony Warrior as just another adventurer (With an actual name) at the start of the game, who you run into during your travels - Sometimes you're doing different things and just cross paths while traveling, sometimes he gets to the place you're going first, sometimes he shows up after you've just finished a task, sometimes you help each other out etc. And gradually as both of your reputations grow; You become known as, for example, "The Dragonborn", due to all the shouting, and he becomes known as "The Ebony Warrior", due to his very iconic look.
Like the Skyrim version of your rivals in Pokemon games, where you both set out into the world at the same time and both improve immensely, mainly due to that rivalry. Hell, you could even afford to write a more personal quest in there, that starts around level 70 or so that explores how he got to the "This is the end then"-phase that we currently encounter him at. The sort of emptiness of not having anything else left to do, or missing that internal drive to keep going etc. Maybe the whatever people he had left here are now gone? Stuff like that.
Obviously, writing down the concept is far easier than making it real, but still; That'd be an instant download for me, if someone made something like that one day.
I don't care what he looks like. He is a warrior of might and valor, so i laid him on the tower where we did battle, and let his armor be his tomb, pledging to do battle once more when we might met again in the highest of halls.
High the cairn, high the head by black helm encased a valorous foe, valiant and vivid Morokei! Great glory, the clash of our blades hear the echoes ring from the snow-capped peaks From Snow mantled tower to Sundered Red stone May he meet with the might of the warriors long gone In Shors hall, Sovngarde, last Warrior's Home.
Does this make him show up in sovngarde, or just make his desire for it make more sense?
i actually wanted a mod that just edits his line of saying that he wants to go to Sovngarde so he says that he wants to go to the Far Shores, as that's the Redguard's afterlife. and ngl, i know that other races can go to Sovngarde if they worship the Nordic Pantheon (not Shor tho, he's supposed to just be respected, but not worshiped, as he's the dead God. And Nords just respect him, but not actually worship him so he can rest) but the ebony warrior is way too random, like, at least there could be an explanation as to how a redguard of all races would adhere to the Nordic Pantheon. Not the Imperial Pantheon, and not the Yokudan Pantheon
but since i don't think there is a mod that edits his voice lines and his dialogue, and i can't use 11labs myself, this is certainly the next best thing
how does it make since if the Maker of the game made him redguard then that is the loreof skyrim yall got every person in the game thats high level but thats not enought huh smh
Thank you very much. And ignore the assholes who say this mod is racist. Even though I'm Korean, i.e. a person of color, I didn't feel any discomfort with this mod. It is a gift from Shor, admiring the superior power of the Nords, so it is only natural that the Ebony Warrior who wants to go to Sovngarde is the Nord
How is this racist again? I am really confused on why people think this. But who gives a f*#@? It took me about 3 minutes to create this mod, would even take less to delete.
But I will not. You can't just go around saying people to delete their content. I will delete it only if I am given an actual valid explanation on how it is racist. Thank you for your comment.
Even though I am a Korean, that is, a person of color, I did not feel any discomfort in this mode. Why is it racist that only Nord wants to go to the heaven that Shor gave Nord? You are paranoid or want to feel moral superiority.
Thank you for the mod. Options to further customize one's game are always welcomed, I would say.
Also, I apologise upfront for throwing a log into the fiery topic previously discussed by the other people; however, I feel the need to personally declare that the idea of an Yokudan/Reguard Ebonarm, of which is based upon Michael Kirkbride's comment of the character, is contested if not entirely wrong. Reymon Ebonarm, as commented by one of Daggerfall's book writers (Marilyn Wasserman), is a Nord.

great beautiful comment, however. This mod and the other one goes well together
