Nice idea for the mod, I thought exactly the same thing when I got the sword, the enchantment is totally silly, it's scaled for a level 1 character, after that considering the rate at which hp goes up in skyrim it becomes useless very quickly ! I also imagined that 20 would be more reasonable, and you even added the scaling based on destruction perks which is an excellent idea, so congratulations !
But one can really wonder who would create something like that... not a gamer for sure, maybe a Bethesda employee ?
Would there be a way to lower to the weight of the sword? 16 lbs for a long sword would be hard to swing and seems crazy. A longsword in real life weighs between 2.5-4 lbs.
Err the weight in skyrim is not in pounds, or you would be able to carry 300 lbs from the start which would be quite crazy ! But yeah most long swords seem to be a little lighter, 10-12 in weight, you can always edit the weight with sseedit, very easy to do.
Hey, I have a question to ask. So I'm also running a enchantment mod of my own that alters the enchantment of Dawnfang, but it appears that when I changed the magnitude of the enchantments i.e. Dawnfang's Fire damage from 7 to 15, upon starting the game up with the changes, it looses its weapon fx or in other words it gives the Black Gem bug where it no longer alternates between its Red and Blue gem and is stuck permanently on the black gem. How did you go about in getting around this in your mod?
Edit: NVM, I see you've already answered that question ^^;
Hey, was wondering if this mod is still being supported (if necessary) for the new AE update? I recently ran through the new CC quest to get the weapon, and I definitely noted it's weak without this mod.
However, with our without this mod, the weapon seems fairly buggy? The Dawnfang visual effects have a second or two delay, and the sword doesn't even "transform" into Duskfang visually or in name at all. The enchantment changes, but it remains named Dawnfang, looking like Dawnfang, but with blue gems that strangely DO NOT have the visual effect delay.
I would be HEAVILY interested in some kind of patch/update that could potentially fix these things? I do not mean to be demanding at all, and I totally understand if modding just isn't on your radar/cup of tea anymore, but I just find myself disheartened seeing as how this sword was my favorite Oblivion weapon, and I wanted to get it and for it to be AWESOME for nostalgia sake!
Truth be told I'm familiar with coding, visual studio, etc. Just never really done modding, but I am a quick learner. I would be interested in working together on this and even end up doing most of the work with your assistance!
Holy cow what a fast reply! Thank you so much, and this will definitely be staying on my radar! So far I've just sucked it up for gameplay sake, it's still a fun weapon and looks great after holding it for a while. You're AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
Hey dude. I couldn't help but notice that there in no Xbox port for this mod on Bethesda.net. I see a PS4 and PC port, but no Xbox. Please don't take this as me making demands because it's your mod and your choice what you do with it, but please consider posting an Xbox version as well, if you want to/are able. Dawnfang is one of my favourite weapons in TES lore but the CC version is so laughably weak and your mod would do wonders in making it viable.
Hi Wahnfried 1883, I tried to make my own version of a mod like this but I found that the animation on the blade was broken when you modified the stats of the enchantment. Can you tell me how you got around this problem? Details here:
Well, my mod increases health absorption to 25 points, so I think it is now well balanced, considering that you can equip Bloodthirst and Dawnfang at the same time, which then does a lot of damage. However, Bloodthirst's hidden bleeding effect is very low. At the moment the bleeding effect is causing a ridiculous 2.5 damage per second for a total of 6 seconds. I am considering increasing the bleeding damage and especially the duration. It would be fun to hit the enemy with the weapon and then watch him slowly die. What do you think about it?
