I am guessing this mod has been abandoned with no further updates. It causes black face, no face, and/or no hair, and I do not wish to chase down the problem. There are too many other NPC enhancer mods to focus on a problem mod. Deleted.
P.S. Whoops, also NO body, just face, hands, and feet. HEHEHE!
This isn't the current version. I've been using 2.0 for a year with zero issues when loaded correctly. You might have issues with outdated patches for it (Bruma in particular), but as far as working as a vanilla visual replacer, it's great. Links are on this mod's description page, but at least it'll be in the comments, now as well: High Poly NPC Overhaul - Resources High Poly NPC Overhaul - Skyrim Special Edition 2.0 (All Vanilla NPCs)
When I have the AI Overhaul patch installed, I get blackface on minor characters, such as the courier, that are not replaced by my other skins I have installed Bijin AIO, Pandorable and Kallies.
I haven't made any mods yet, but I'm looking into how this works and I see a lot of what causes the issues. I've been able to fix them manually, but going to start seeing how to make patches for it.
Yeah, didn’t realize these were issues until I started a serious play through. One I found is formID 000BBCD2. Generic male Peddler. No mod overwriting, and no mod being overwritten (save for Skyrim.esm). Also no file overwriting HPNO’s .nif and .dds files, which means it’s HPNO’s fault.
but i am a quite confused. there is a 2.0 update but why not use this version here? you say there are KS hair retextures, but i personally don't like 75% of KS hairstyles in general cause too anime and wavy. so do i HAVE TO use KS hair? some retextures aren't helpful for me personally here when i don't like most hairstyles.
can i use vanilla hair with this version?
greetings and again BIG THANK YOU for doing this!
edit: i found a mod which just use non-clipping and more immersive hair and deletes the rest. when i install this will this mod here still work normally?
Did you ever find a fix for this? I love the high poly mod set overall, but yeah, I'm getting the same thing, just some NPCs men and women, get dark face.
I don't have a dark face bug, actually the opposite, some of the NPCs have faces that are too bright compared to the body skin. Is there a way to find out what mod is causing the mismatch, whether it's HPNPC's head data or something changing NPC bodies?
I'd use your other one if you stopped making hairs into wigs
takes a ton more work to use your other one to avoid all the inherent incompatibility issues that don't even exist in any other npc overhaul
I like your work and I use it as a base high poly change to the world but it is just the base on which I layer the incredible looking npcs that come in smaller packages from elsewhere
with this version I can just override it easily but your new one I have to go in and make a truck ton of manual changes

I downloaded some of the NPC mods and several of the NPCs has the black face bug, and i dunno what the problem is.. :/
I recommend using this mod instead: High Poly NPC Overhaul - Skyrim Special Edition 2.0 (All Vanilla NPCs).
