Do these new cultists ally themselves with the cultists of Miraak, and the Draugr? There's a mod called Draugr Patrols (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/26193?tab=description) and another by the same author called Draugr Cavalry, and I was wondering if you made them all recognize each other as being the same faction, so they can all team up against the player.
It'd be pretty cool to fight them all at once on the chance that they just happened to spawn together.
In lore, Draugr are generally just guardians who don't distinguish between specific living beings and just kill anything that comes near (in most cases, at least), and Miraak was a traitor to the Dragon Cult, who ended up imprisoning him in his temple.
So none of those groups would particularly like each other.
This is a good idea. But the gear they're wearing is odd. Would make sense if they wore more "normal" gear, whilst not wearing a Dragon Priest's mask. Those masks are somewhat rare right?
They're not followers of Miraak too. I think their robes should be changed honestly. All in all though, the idea is solid.
I actually came here to say this too because the mod itself is great, but I just feel like it breaks that immersion when you have them wearing Miraak's followers clothing. Would be cool to see something a bit more unique for clothing and mask but also fitting with lore, and I'd give this a shot. Dragon priest masks are too much. Look at how Miraak's followers have their mask tied in to look like Miraak's but aren't the same - that kind of thing would be cool to see some kind of rendition of the dragon priest mask. For the clothing I am not so sure about lore wise but not a cut copy of the followers of Miraak.
I like the premise of this mod, since it seems plausible that the dragon cult could have a resurgence after Alduin's return, but in practice I find that it spawns way, way too many cultists. I'm not sure why, but Eastmarch and the northern part of the Rift are just riddled with roaming bands of cultists with 5+ members. Between the spawn rates and already wanting to change the fact that the cultists are equipped with full versions of real dragon priest masks (and one typically spawns per band of cultists), I had to remove this mod from my load order.
with "Improved closefaced helmets" (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/824) the heads of khajiits, argonians and orcs using the masks are invisible :'c
Not to say that I either like or dislike your mod, but you do have a point in it. In a time of trouble and fear, some people will turn to worship... whatever is making them fearful. And the dragons will no doubt find this attention flattering, with some of them taking advantage of it.
Maybe in a future update, we can have well-made, but crudely enchanted masks on certain "leaders", but if you have a real dragon priest mask they will attack you in an attempt to steal it.
I unsure if this is yours or some mod conflict but one of the cultists groups came at me and 1 was named Dragon priest and had a mask . it had resistance to disease and poison 100% as well as armor 25.. but it was a cultist . all but one of the masks were wooden .
Ah, that's exactly where I found the same exact thing. It' a dragon burial site, I'll have to get back in-game to find the exact location. It's west of Whiterun, kind of in the middle of nowhere, really. Beyond Redoran's Retreat or whatever it's called. I'll grab a screenshot and link you to it shortly
Also this wasn't a legit Dragon Priest, just a Dragon Cultist who was named Priest. He has the Henvoraak mask, though it is named 'Dragon Priest Mask.'
Also, just found it! Only took 45 minutes, haha. It's directly between Grendspring Hollow and Swindler's Den, East of Rorikstead
