For the Dawnguard Crossbow you need to finish the Ancient Technology quest that gives you access to the advanced Dawnguard Crossbows.
For the Nord Hero Crossbow you need to finish the companions storyline and then talk to Eorlund Gray-Mane to gain access to the Nord Hero weapons. Nord Hero weapons can only be crafted at the Skyforge.

So just to clarify, each faction has their own crossbow, but it is only the Dawnguard that have access to "advanced" crossbows, right?

Just wanted to say thanks so much for creating your FOMOD with so much customization options! I really appreciate that you made separate categories for daggers and conjured daggers (the daedric dagger definitely looks best facing forward). Can't wait for Dwarven Crossbow animations for DX Faction Crossbows!

Don't compact this mod into esl formid since it has a lot of patches referencing the form id in this mod, like jk's or legacy of dragonborn. Tailored eslify can be done in ssedit by checking this mod along with ALL ITS PATCHES in ssedit, but it is not a good practice since someday you are bound to reinstall one of the AIO patch collections and revert the change to those patches in ssedit and the reverted patches will NOT work!
P.S. eslify it by only check this mod but not its patches, will break some of its patches. And I got a lot of missing master warning when I disable this plugin. -

Probably because 2017, only small patch mods and things like that could be made ESL back then.

so iam just playin Skyrim again and found this Mod and had to have it, because i though the game was always lacking more crossbows.
So.... it looks like i cant craft some.
Is it possible that the Mod does not work if ur playin with the Ordinator Mod? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1137
Since they change the Perks and theres none for xbows i think.

If by chance a individual lost said books, do they perchance respawn or have a ID to spawn in?

Late reply to this post, by I find that the Help command in the console is excellent for looking up items you know the name of. So lets give an example. I want to spawn in an apple, specifically a red apple, but i do not know the ID for it. I can then type the following into console to get a list of all items with the name i searched for:
help apple
That will display a list of all items containing the name Apple, as well as list what type of item it is as well as their respective ID's, mod ID included too, so it works wonders for mods! If you search is too broad, you may end up with a long list that is longer than one page. To navigate up and down the list, you can press Page Up and Page Down keys on your keyboard to navigate it.
You can also make a search even more specific by typing quotation marks around what you want to search, allowing you to search for items with more than one word. Example:
help "red apple"
or
help "iron sword"
