- -Immersive start.
- -A traveler saw something horrible on the road to Markarth. Read her note at Markarth Inn to begin Undeath.

- -Transcendence revised from 25%/40% xp gain with Visions of Apocrypha -> 20%/25% xp gain + an extra skill point when reading skill books.
- -Mannimarco's Will scroll no longer craftable at bench, instead its now obtained by offering filled black soul gems to the Shade of the Revenant (once every 8 days)
- -Shade of the Revenant feature reworked. Now only blackens grand soul gems, not greater soul gems.

- -Rewrote implementation of Shade of the Revenant scripts. Fixed multiple potential issues too lengthy to describe,

- -Fixed quest scripts to minimize possibility of quests not advancing after killing necromancers. Scripts now check against all necromancers to be dead instead of counting up.

- Rationales for change:
- - I wanted tone down the power of lich passives because they do not exist in a vacuum (they stack on top of existing perk systems and armor enchants). Magicka boosts have been tamed across the board, while the fun abilities have been kept as is. Multiplicative dps boost from Magicka Flood removed because it was my biggest balance peeve. Siphon Life has been replaced with a more coherent and fun AOE spell. Enslave Mind was toned down to be more in line with the rest of the illusion school.

- Optimizations and Fixes
- -Changed uses of slower Game.GetPlayer() in lich ritual and resurrection scripts to call PlayerRef instead.
- -The more demanding transform scripts have already been optimized since the original release of this mod, but I was too lazy to change these two scripts because they run in such specific scenarios that the slower script function barely matters. But optimization is optimization.
- -Broker now sells dye needed to dye the shroud of vyngald. (I remember making this change long ago but I must have overwritten it at some point)
- -Fixed very funny bug where the lich ritual fails if you have more than 1 shroud (only possible with console commands)

- Updating from older version might break your save if you have not finished undeath questline, due to the rewrite of quest scripts. If you have completed the questlines, it might be possible to update without breaking anything. Vet through a save cleaner if you want to update.

- Bugfixes and QOL Improvements
- -Fixed equilibrium spell not working on liches (because it has RestoreHealth keyword for some reason)
- -Fixed wards being positioned wrongly for liches (credits to nerudious for skeleton work)
- -Lich resurrection now ragdolls the player to fix a fringe bug reported of a player falling through infinite void, likely in conjuction with animation mods.
- -MCM update script now refreshes the lich resurrection code, in case players install undeath and become a lich prior to installing this mod.
- -Enslave Mind now uses a duplicate copy of the bend will script instead of the original script, in case of fringe incompatibility with a mod that may modify the original script.
- -Possibly fixed crash that happens when players try to go into firstperson as a lich using firstperson mods. (lol not tested)
- -Deleted unused wordofpower from undeath (someone reported that they learned the word somehow)
- -Lich race now has stamina regen for out of the box compatibility with lich sprinting from Dragon Priest Behaviour Overhaul.
- -Fixed devour soul conditions that made it work on more targets than intended. (The conditions for this spell has been wrong for over a year and it was massively more powerful than intended rofl)
- -Lich ritual now prints trace messages into papyrus log when failed, so its possible for players (and myself) to troubleshoot when it fails.
- -Scourg Barrow quest now tells you that its possible to fast travel there by reading the 'Barrows of the Mountain' book. Not enough players realized it was possible to do this due to the interaction being buried in my mod description.
- Balance Changes
- -Devour Soul, Mass Reanimate and Summon Diilonthur spells no longer have cost reduction perks to reflect that they are the strongest spells in the game and should cost accordingly. Costs for them adjusted as well.
- -Magnitude adjustment to Dark Pact buff.
- -Devour Soul has improved sound fx; sound fx added to command undead.
- -Devour Soul charge time reduced to 2 seconds.

Version 2.40
- -Command mechanic for Enslave Mind and Command Undead altered. Commanded target will fight for the player instead of staying passive.
- -This is a massive buff to both spells, obviously.
- -Enslave Mind duration slightly reduced, Command Undead cost increased.
- -Fixed enslave mind DoT not dispelling together with the command effect when another MagicInfluence spell is cast on target.
- -Siphon Life cost reduced to 80. This spell was rather underpowered.
- -Siphon Life and Enslave Mind now display respective magnitudes/durations in spell text.
- -Some other changes to texts have been made here and there for increased clarity.
- -Dark Pact completely reworked. No longer grants additional summon, instead grants 10% additional damage against living NPCs, at the cost of taking 20% more physical damage from living NPCs.
- -I have wanted to rework dark pact for a long time, because the additional summon is too awkward to balance. The removal of Heart Of Darkness in the prior patch enables me use the old perk effect here.
- -Dark Pact now correctly dispels other blessings.
- -Mass Reanimate cost increased from 1000 -> 1200 to reflect that it is literally the strongest spell in the game (ritual stone exploit on a stick)
- -Diilonthur can now use a poison shout and his health has been increased from 1200 -> 1500.
- -Diilonthur fire weakness increased.
- -Mannimarco Will duration reduced to 3 hours
- -Balancing mannimarco's will is an oxymoron because its such a blatant powergaming mechanic, but eh. I think 3 hours is the sweet spot where it is still strong enough in the average use case, without being too easy for powergamers to stack up infinite summons with black soul gem farming.
- -Fixed minor bug where Command Undead was being displayed as cost/per second with SkyUI when it should not be.
- -I have a spicy idea to balance Mannimarco's Will by increasing player damage taken for each scroll stacked, but its a tentative plan for the future.

- -Conduit completely reworked. Now grants 20% spell duration, and 1% health and magicka regen per soul in phylactery (up to 50%).

- Gameplay
- -Heart Of Darkness perk removed; it was boring and problematic because it just ended up being a flat 10% damage boost to nearly everything.
- -Command Undead is no longer a base lich spell, and now occupies HoD's place in the perk line.
- -Command Undead restrictions lifted, now works on vampires and dragon priests. Duration buffed from 30->45 seconds.
- -The buffed Command Undead is incredibly strong, and fulfills the class fantasy of being an evil overlord better than HoD ever did. I initially wanted to turn the brand new Command Undead into an AOE spell, but I fear it might be too strong. so it stays as a single target spell for now.
- -Conduit nerfed from 100 magicka/health -> 60 magicka/health.
- -With unfettered access to staves from the favourites menu (which was not present in prior iterations of the mod), conduit just ends up being too abusable, therefore it warranted an adjustment.
- Bugfixes
- -Players will now accrue bounty from crimes in lich form after obtaining the "God Amongst Men" perk. This fix was supposed to be in the previous update but I magically forgot to put it in.
- -Fixed Dark Pact preventing you from using summoning spells, for players that did not clean the undeath esp. This fix is not relevant if you cleaned the base undeath.esp.
- -Fixed players being stuck as a shade/black skeleton instead of getting a proper lich model (note: this is not a true fix per se. The bug occurs when players manage to break the questline script variables determining lich model. I just added a failsafe scenario to equip players with a default lich model when this happens)
- -Classical femdom joke finally removed.

- -Quote unquote "fixed" Konahrik mask crashes and bugs by preventing the mask from showing in lich form altogether. - -This is done to prevent the players from being locked in lich form if something breaks and they cant access the spell menu anymore.

- Bugfixes and Improvements
- -You can now travel to and from Dragontail Mountains by reading the "Barrows of the Mountains" book. This is to ensure that players with fast travel disabled do not have to resort to coc commands.

- -Removed buggy construct skeleton spell. Update mod to remove the spell from the player.
- -Fixed necromantic altar XP gain, but for real this time.

- -Switching spells in lich form is still slower than using the favourite menu, so this change is intended to make it easier to maintain spell buffs in lich form.

- -daedric weapon exclusion from lich resistances removed, liches still weak to silver. (done to avoid having weird power progression in modded games where regular enemies end up with daedric weapons at high levels. In vanilla, daedric weapons are generally not given to regular fodder)
- -multiple adjustments (nerfs) to spell costs, necro healing less efficient.
- -command undead duration increased to 90 seconds so its actually useful as a 1/day power.
- -staff of worm area cone reduced from 10->2 in order to minimize vanilla wonkiness with reanimating more minions than you are allowed to control.
- -dark sacrifice renamed to sacrifice thrall (trying to keep my use of the word “dark” in this mod to a minimum)
- -magicka flood now grants 5 magicka per soul again, up from 4. (250=> 300 max magicka at soul cap. This was not done for balance reasons, but because the UI looks fucking ugly if the stats are not multiples of 5.
- -antioch robes now grant fortify health regen instead of fortify conjuration. Robe costs reduced to 500.

- Big balance rework, I was forced to rush this update because 1.20 accidentally introduced a ctd issue with the Staff of Worms.
- -Fixed staff of worms ctd issue from 1.20 because the staff unintentionally got an infinite price value due to enchantment cost calculations on an infinite duration effect.
- -Potions now work as a lich, but are 50% less effective.
- -Mod balance retooled changed to reflect this change.
- -Physical resistances reduced from 33%/50% => 25%/40%.
- -Magicka Flood nerfed from 5 to 4 magicka per soul. (300 => 250 at soul cap)
- -Phylactery 15 souls upgrade no longer grants increased frost resist
- -Conduit no longer grants passive health regen, but increases spell duration in lich form by 20%.
- -Heart of Darkness and God Amongst Men perk positions swapped (25 and 30)
- -Lich form passive damage and magic resists reduced
- -Undeath's spells Dark Sacrifice and Command Undead repurposed and are now available immediately as lich spells.
- -Command Undead is now a 1/day power.
- -Dark sacrifice now restores health to caster.
- -Lich night eye ability "True Sight" added. Its fucking useless but every vanilla transformation has a night eye ability, so for consistency's sake...

- -"Frightful Presence" perk that gave fear cloak replaced with "God Among Men" perk that stops NPCs from reacting to lichform. The fear cloak was cool in theory but very boring and unfun gameplay wise.
- -Staff of worms now reanimates permanently like dead thrall.

- -Debug message on game reload that was used for testing removed from script.
