EDIT: So, I wound up having to copy the armor add-on section from Light Body Horses to your patch and that worked. If anyone else has that problem, that's what you have to do. Thanks again for your patch! I appreciate it! :)
This is great, thank you so much for making this patch. I am having an issue, however. It has nothing to do with your patch, rather a conflict between Immersive Horses and Light Body Horses and I was wondering if you or anyone else had this issue or if I'm the only one. It seems saddles disappear... There are no saddles on the horses when I approach them in the stable. I can transfer a saddle to the horse and it will visibly be there while I'm in the inventory screen, but the moment I exit out, it disappears. I tested the game without Immersive Horses, just Light Body Horses, and the saddles appear just fine. But even with this patch, the saddles are invisible for me. I can't fathom what could be causing that.
I should add that I'm using MO2 and testing this with a bare bones profile. I've double-checked my load order and mod-list. Immersive Horses, Light Body Horses, IH-Light Body Horses Patch.
Awesome, glad I could help! I should note that no matter what I did in xEdit, the Whiterun horse starts with an Imperial saddle, even though I have the patch set to make all the horses have a regular saddle. Not sure why, but since I can change the saddle they are using manually, I figured "oh well!"
Hope to see the patch! I like the colors of light horses a lot too. Shame it isn't compatible out of the box as it's much better than convenient horses which is always a disaster for me.
I have the same missing saddle problem and Rayne3's suggestion almost fixed it for me, but I had to make one more change: In the Armor Addon list that I copied over I also had to copy the "MODL - Race" values from Immersive Horses.esp to this IH patch for the 3 records whose names begin with "HorseSaddle." I found that out by reading the description page for Immersive Horses where toward the end of that page he talks about how to incorporate horses from other mods, and he mentions that any race changes between IH and other horses won't work.
Once I made those changes in xedit, I had to go into my horse's inventory and remove the saddle, then put it back into the horse's inventory so that the horse would "put it on." Previously when I did that, the saddle would appear for split second then disappear, but after making the above changes it stayed there.
Next thing: The Immersive Horses description page also makes note that the Template Flags for horses from other mods should include "Use Traits" so that IH can dynamically use the horse's traits. Not sure what that means, but you should probably do that as well in this IH patch. Those are found in the Non-Player list under the ACBS - Configuration area. A couple of the horses already had that applied, I just did it for all the others that allowed me to.
Finally: I also copied over the Confidence value and all the DNAM - Player Skills values from Immersive Horses to this patch because that made the horses more cowardly (and therefore not fight/die) and made them sturdier.
For testing, I bought a horse at Markarth, Riften, and Whiterun and was able to manage all 3 horses (making them stay, riding them, accessing their inventory, looking at their stats, summoning them, managing all 3 individually and as a group, and even giving them new names) and I had no problems at all. It was fun to watch the 3 horses tag along behind me or follow me when I rode them individually.
So I've been having an issue with Immersive Horses and Light Horses. Even though I have this patch installed, all of the horses look the same (every horse looks like the cart horse - brown). If I disable immersive horses, then the Light Horses textures appear. Has anyone else had this problem? Or does anyone know a fix (I'll admit that I'm new to modding)?
Immersive Horses has a version that restores the vanilla textures instead of the textures it comes with (although the horses definitely shouldn't all look the same), maybe try that version and see if Light Horses overwrites it. Took me a while to manage retexturing with IHO, but I'm also using this mod More Horses (Foals Herds Saddles and More) at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community which has a misc file that allows retex of vanilla horses (LO is detailed on the modpage). If you don't want to add another mod/plugin (althoug I highly recommend the mod, it's great imo), you could try switching your LO around, looks like IHOs textures are winning out over Light Horses.
I have the same problem. I changed the Immersive horses to use the vanilla textures, and it solved half the problem. I then got the light horses textures, but ALL the horses uses the Whiterun bay color. I have no idea what's wrong. I removed and reinstalled, and made sure the plugins are in the right order. They still all look the same.
the ESL option says, and i quote, "for those nearing the 250 plug-in limit"...... i only have around 60 plug-ins.... so im nowhere NEAR the 250 limit, which is why i chose the non ESL option. mod didnt work. I did what you said, i downloaded the ESL option, and it worked!! thank you for this comment!!!!!!
I just fell in love with these horses but I have been trying for hours to make it work and it just wont... Immersive horses alone is fine but if I add that mode even with the patch the "ownership" script gets broken and the horses refuse to follow ect. I have checked the load order too nothing is wrong... I guess I just have to give up I am soooo sad
Edit: Whatever I do I cannot see the plugin in nmm or loot does someone know what is up ?
I am sorry you are having issues with this patch. For one, please use MO2 or Vortex, NMM is not supported. I can look into this patch again soon, but I have personally switched to Witcher Horse Expansion.
For some reason everything worked perfectly until today. Suddenly Frost insists on returning to Black-Briar lodge and it happens only when I enable this patch. Bummer, he's pretty with it :(
Thank you so much for making this patch, the Light Horses are far superior to the Vanilla build. I have one issue, however. It works perfectly - except with Frost. I do have the IHO functions, inventory etc. but as soon as I dismount he returns to Black Briar Lodge. I don't have any mods altering Frost, I tried setting ownership via console but that doesn't work. Any ideas what I might try?
If you are using RDO (Relationship Dialog Overhaul) that might be the cause. There is a patch for that here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17700/
I'm having the same issue! If you find a solution, please let me know. I'm pleased that I have everything else working together: Immersive Horses, Nether's Follower Framework, Light Body Horses, Cart Horses and RDO. My only problem is Frost, who goes right back to Black-Briar Lodge every time I dismount. I'm so sad, because I adore the silver grullo.
Late reply but . . . According to the patch page if you have Immersive Horses, RDO, AND Nether's you should NOT use that patch. Instead in Nether's MCM menu turn off it's horses and keep it's riding packages.
Immersive Horses has infamous issues with Frost in many different load orders. As far as I know, this specific bug has nothing to do with Relationship Dialogue Overhaul (RDO), or Nethers Follower Framework. I believe the incompatibility with RDO is due to the added Stablemaster interactions, and obviously a follower framework that manages horse riding would need a patch/workaround for a horse mod that does the same; but again I don't believe that's part of Frost's specific issue.
Here is the fix from the comments of the Immersive Horses page. It works like a charm even if you've already saved the game after finishing the Black-Briar Lodge quest and Frost is currently bugged in your save:
(Original post was by zelurker) There is an easy solution, thanks to the very detailed front page of Immersive Horses explaining how to make a horse from another mod compatible with it. Just add him [Frost] to the PotentialFollowerFaction. In order to do this in-game, perform the following steps:
Stand close to Frost while facing him in-game, and open the console (the '~' key by default on American keyboards).
Click on Frost with the console up. His "RefID" (a series of numbers) should show up mid-screen.
With his RefID onscreen, type this into the console: addfac 5c84d 1
Press enter, and then close the console (press the '~' key again).
Now use the "Ownership Power" ability from your magic menu on Frost.
Of the options in the menu window that pops up, choose "Abandon."
He [Frost] will attempt to leave and return to Black Briar Lodge. Just run up to him and mount him before he gets away. You should see a message pop up in your onscreen notifications that says something along the lines of, "Frost is now claimed/your permanent horse."
With that done, he should be registered in the MCM menu and can be handled with Immersive Horses like any normal horse.
Did anyone on this post ever get Frost to work? I'm having the same issue where he keeps running away to Black Briar Lodge. And it doesn't matter how many console commands I use. It says he is my permanent steed, and I can summon him with a whistle but he will immediately leave, even if it says he is following me.
OK so had the whole texture's not loading issue. it was stuck on the default horse from Immersive Horses. For me, the load order was light horses then immersive horses, then the patch.
For the Newbies load order plugins should look like this immersive houses.esp lightbodyhorsereplacer.esp ih-light body horse patch.esp with any patch it should be below the mods in question.
Alright, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but I've been trying for hours and can't figure it out. No matter what I've tried, I keep getting the Immersive Horses meshes and textures instead of the Light Horses version. I'm completely stumped on what to do.
If someone could help me and tell me what to do to get the Light Horses version working that'd be great.
in plugins load immersive houses.esp above lightbodyhorsereplacer.esp then load ih-light body horse patch.esp below lightbodyhorsereplacer.esp and keep these close to the bottom of your load order.
YES YES YES! Thank you so much for creating and sharing this! I have tried to create a patch like this, but I can't seem to wrap my head around the creation kit... Thank you!
Edit: Works perfectly from what I can tell. Thanks again!
