I love these eyes! Is there any way to make a replacer version, though? It's a bit unimmersive to me to have to use showracemenu to change my vampire's eyes. I know there's a replacer version for HD vanilla eyes, but I'd love to have an option to use the others as a replacer version, too.
I'm glad I found this mod! Most vampire eye overhauls seem to go more human looking, which just looks weird on elves (why did Bethesda have to make humans and elves use the same texture?). This mod offers a nice variety of options for more inhuman looking eyes. Using this mod with "Vampire Eye Fix (Disable Vampire Overlay)" seems to make it possible to choose an eye colour and have it persist.
For anyone still curious on how to get this to REPLACE vanilla vampire eyes and you use Mod Organizer.
Create a folder anywhere (desktop for example) called Data Open Data and create a folder in there called textures Inside textures create a folder called actors Inside actors create a folder called character Inside character create a folder called eyes Inside eyes place the eye texture you want to replace vanilla vampire eyes
Example - HU_VAMP_5
Make a copy of your preferred texture (you can leave the original copy along with these two new copies) Name one copy eyevampire_01.dds Name the other copy eyevampire_02.dds Close the folders, right click Data and create a zip file Install this with Mod Organizer
All vampires, both male and female, should now have the eye color that you chose. If you have any issues double check and make sure the eyevampire_01 and eyevampire_02 end with .dds
Edit - This will be able to give you the glowing versions, I used HU_VAMP_5 and it works just fine!
Haha, yeah actually- I managed to figure it out myself just recently! What I did was basically install your replacer version, navigated to the folder that's found in, and replaced the vampire eye texture with the version I wanted, and it works! Don't know how to implement the glow but, ah well, close enough.
Aaand I just noticed you made a comment describing you could do that thing to someone else. Woopsy.
I didnt quiet figure out how to choose which color I want to use. Atleast for the other characters. About my character I just changed it in the racemenu, but the other characters dont match, they got somehow a "base" color (not the vanilla). Should there be an option during the installation I didnt get? Or should there be an option menu in MCM I didnt get either? Or should I do something manually with the mod files? I tried to delete those colors I don't want and left only the one, but then it cant be installed. I feel like there should be more said in the mod description. There is no information even about the racemenu. I had to figure out it myself.
Sorry but I thought it was pretty self explanatory.
The eyes are standalone which means they do not replace any eyes including NPC eyes and you have to select them in whatever character creator you use (ie- Racemenu/ECE or vanilla character creation) unless you use the replacer version which looks like a higher res version of the vanilla eyes for lore reasons.
There is no MCM or FOMOD as the eyes are meant to be used for your character. I figured most people use NPC replacer mods (ie- Bijin's/Pandoras/Etc) in which case the eyes wont work on those characters anyway as they come with eyes so it would really be used by many and I really don't want to get into making a bunch of patches for other mods.
Hi! I absolutely love these eyes, my fave vampire eyes by far! I was just wondering how hard it would be to add like, a kind of eldritch-y green set of eyes? (I have a vampire but they serve under Hermaeus Mora with the Wintersun mod), I would just have to edit the colour of my least favourite? - which is a difficult choice :P ... thank you for your time!
Sorry I might add other colour variations at the moment but I am a bit sick of eyes after making so many in a short period of time but I will keep in mind Thank-you for the kind words!
Right, so after some research I have found that there really is no way to edit mid-game vampire/vampire lord characters using showracemenu. Furthermore, the face sculptor in Riften does not offer services to alter the faces of vampires and even mods such as A Change of Face (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10508) did not allow me to alter my appearance midgame. Vampirism serves as an overlay and any eyes you choose before becoming one will be overwritten. The new eyes can also not be altered in any way as mentioned, leading me to a conclusion.
This mod is great for people who are not vampires?
I am able to select different eyes when I am not a vampire. I am not able to select different eyes when I'm a vampire as my character just resets after exiting racemenu. If I am wrong or missing something please help me. I really wanted to use this mod but alas. My guess is the only way it will work is if the textures explicitly overwrite/retexture the original vampire eyes. Adding new eyes to the vampire races in HeadPart does not give us a way to access them.
I am not sure I tested on characters after they became vampires and I was able to change them, and I just loaded up my game again and it worked.
Sometimes the first time you select eye colours the character's eyes look the same in racemenu/ece but the slider moves but eyes all look the same, if you save your character on a different slider, save your game then exit when I went back into game and reloading the save my eyes had changed and I could view all the colours in racemenu/ece. You have to exit the game completely reloading the save without exiting will not change it.
If this doesn't work then you might have another mod that is conflicted with the vampire race.
The eyes appear for my vampire when I access racemenu and I can even select them without flickering or double-eyes. The problem is that upon confirming the changes and hitting enter after naming my character he just defaults back to what he looked like before the edits. Nevertheless, I attempted the solution of changing the eyes, saving, quitting, loading and trying to apply them again after loading to no success.
It's actually a widely known vanilla frustration that vampire races can't be edited mid-game. I saw many forums of people without any mods being unable to change them. I wonder if perhaps your loadorder contains a mod that fixes this somehow? Are there any other mods you use alongside Racemenu or vampires? It would be a dream come true to get this working. I also have no vampire/race mods installed aside from Racemenu and the eyes.
I use the unofficial patch and I tested with both racemenu and (ece with the additional race) and both worked. I don't have anything else really in my load order that might affect the races. as the laptop I make my mods on has very limited mods as it is easier to navigate when making mods. I know hazel eyes often cause the issue in vanilla games where they won't get vampire eyes and get stuck with their regular eye colour.

TBH I made too many versions to do replacer versions for all the eyes but here is how you can do it yourself:
Copy the eye texture from my mod that you want to use as the replacer to your desktop rename to:
- eyeargonianvampirefemale.dds
- eyeargonianvampiremale.dds
- eyekhajiitvampire.dds
- eyevampire_02.dds
(Depending on the race you are playing as- human & mer use the eyevampire_02.dds)Go to your game folder and under: Textures/Actors/Character/Eyes move the texture you just moved over and overwrite if prompted
Create a folder anywhere (desktop for example) called Data
Open Data and create a folder in there called textures
Inside textures create a folder called actors
Inside actors create a folder called character
Inside character create a folder called eyes
Inside eyes place the eye texture you want to replace vanilla vampire eyes
Example - HU_VAMP_5
Make a copy of your preferred texture (you can leave the original copy along with these two new copies)
Name one copy eyevampire_01.dds
Name the other copy eyevampire_02.dds
Close the folders, right click Data and create a zip file
Install this with Mod Organizer
All vampires, both male and female, should now have the eye color that you chose. If you have any issues double check and make sure the eyevampire_01 and eyevampire_02 end with .dds
