Version 1.9
You can ask her to empty any container, or harvest any item and she will -but items just pop-out since she has no pockets. It's only useful if you're stealing. Safe even for quest items. Quantities greater than 5 will be stacked. However, do not ask her to pick up items off the floor -she has no storage and will only kick them around; plus quest items will lose their uniqueness.
Fixed bug where arrows shot at her would try to get into her inventory and would trigger her function to spit them out.
Added a new not-good but not-so-bad-either ending for players who are not the dragonborn and don't wish to become it.
For all other endings (the good and the bad) she can now steal souls into soul gems.
She is now immune to stagger.
Version 1.8
The summon spell will send her directly into your hands to be wielded, as long as you aren't already wielding some other weapon (otherwise it behaves like an ordinary summon)
You can temper the 'dead' version (bad ending) at a grindstone, provided you have the Arcane Blacksmith Perk

Version 1.7
Better transition between wieldable-weapon and follower, including a "May I wield you again?" dialogue that appears after you wield her via the "May I ask you a question" dialogue once.
She will not fight any enemies for three seconds after you summon her -useful if you want to pull her out of fights she can't win.
Revamped the first greet in the sightless pit to be a more traditional interaction behind-the-scenes.
She is now immune to disease and poison (makes sense -no organic body).

You can now ask her to relax in a certain location, and she will sandbox around. Useful for the inside of player homes.
Fixed bug where if you ask to wield her while inside a private location she would be marked as 'stolen'.
Workaround implemented for when you ask her to pick up items off the floor. It's best if you never ask her to pick up items off the floor though -it's not like she has pockets, anyway!
Changed visual effects for a certain spoiler weapon.

Version 1.5
Version 1.5 removes Vibrant Weapons as a hard requirement because VR users can't use it (and not everyone actually likes the light!). You can still have lights though if you install the optional FloatingSword_VibrantWPN_Patch.zip.

New feature: you can ask her to patrol any outdoors area, and she will.
Fixed maximum level cap from 40 to 100. She should now be of more value to higher level player characters. Don't forget to select her in the console and 'setlevel 1000,0,10,100'. She will catch up with you when you next level up.

Added Vibrant Weapons as a requirement: now the sword can produce real light.
Fixed a bug with her resurrection being broken. Make sure to wield her, then drop her from your inventory to fix.

Fixed idle commentary about the weather (she would say 'it's freezing out here' when it's not).
Streamlined the last few stages of the first quest: you no longer need to have found the bandit's note in order to wake her up.

Minor change to make Tolfdir optional instead of mandatory in order to start the first quest (turns out there are times when he isn't available). If your quest already started without issues then you don't need this update.
Removed PlayerFaction records out of an overabundance of caution; they weren't really needed and mods like Undeath rely on them more.
