Over the last nearly 2 years I have seen a lot of posts that say this mod does not work. I would like to first say I am not an advanced modder nor is this an advanced mod - this was literally changing some numbers in a script. I made this for myself and only shared because there was no version of this for the Special Edition on the Nexus yet.
That being said, I have tried many scenarios and different orders of doing the quests and it has always worked on my game. The only bug I have encountered in my tests has been the main character being able to tell Devlin they finished special jobs that they already told him they finished. I have tried it with only this mod, and I have tried it with all the dozens of mods I use. As of today, I quickly did a speed run of all of the quests and it still worked as planned.
I am not sure how to troubleshoot the problems that the below users have reported as I have not encountered them at all and have no idea if possibly a different mod they have is causing the error or if my computer just seems to work it out and I am the anomaly.
If anyone else wants to take a stab at it, you are welcome to. I apologize if it doesn't work on your specific build, but I do not know what else to do.
Amber1019 offered a workaround on the 29th of Aug 2017 and that looked like it worked for some people.
So, after I completed Summerset Shadows (Windhelm) and The Dainty Sload (Solitude), neither Delvin nor Vex will give me anymore quests whatsoever. BUT, I don't think it's due to this mod. I did some googling and it sounds like people even on consoles have this issue with them suddenly not wanting to give you anymore quests. So, if you encounter this, your best bet is just to use console codes to start all of the special jobs. Below are the console codes for each quest. My recommendation would be to only trigger one at a time, complete it, then do the next.
I also read you may be able to go straight to the Under New Management quest, but I have not tested this and therefore do not recommend it. But if you want to try it out, the following command should work; you can use the console: setstage TGLeadership 0
Congrats on your new One with the Shadows achievement.
The mod is ok, but can loop jobs no longer needed to do to control the city. Now THIS list of console commands should be a sticky. It allows you to pick a city for the thieves guild to control. Nice and simple. Would have been nice if the mod did those specifically.
Thios was perfect. I got stuck too. Devon got looped and kept giving me money for Windhelm, so I started Markath manually in the end and it solved it for me.TG is now completed.
It's been a long run folks. I can't believe one of my mods (as simple as it was) has, at the time off this writing, been downloaded over 800,000 times!
As I say in all of my mods, I am not that advanced of a modder, and rarely share what I make. I would have never caught that this script tweak from all those years ago would have conflicted where it did to cause that weird glitch of turning in the special jobs again. Kudos to GreatDevourer for figuring that out.
That being said, to be perfectly honest, I don't even use my own mod anymore. I use Thieves Guild Requirements SE https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/33256 which I highly recommend as it contains the ability to manually set these requirements as you want on top of additional features.
I'm not going to make this file hidden for those that just want the simple fix w/o bells or whistles, but agree it's had its run and that other mods do this better.
I find it amusing that people always complain about how easy it is to become the Boss of every guild, then when they see that to become guildmaster of the thieves guild they actually need to grind a bit, they.....................................complain again.
I don't care for being leader, but I do want to do the special quests without grind. If I could I would do the special quests and then reject leadership.
You should still be able to get the achievement as long as you have Achievements Mods Enabler installed.
You get the achievement by specifically completing the quest "Under New Management." Since "No Thieves Guild Grind" only lowers the number of radiant quests to meet certain requirements and leaves the main line of quests alone, there should be no achievement conflicts.
I was stuck with just the Markarth special quest left, and completely over doing take/quit/take/quit over and over trying to get jobs there. I installed this, and Delvin repeated the dialogue for completing the other three, but then gave me the Markarth one. Thanks!
Nice work, I confirm it works with AE and Unofficial Patch for following cities (will edit it as I go farther into Thieves Guid restoration questline) : - Markarth

Markarth - Silver Lining: setstage TGTQ01 0
Solitude - The Dainty Sload: setstage TGTQ02 0
Whiterun - Imitation Amnesty: setstage TGTQ03 0
Windhelm - Summerset Shadows: setstage TGTQ04 0

Thanks for all the DL's everyone!
do you know if you can

I'm running 1.6.659 (GOG) btw.
