This is great. I'm using NFF and had it set to unequip follower weapons out of combat. It has an unequip quiver option as well, but it's sketchy af, quiver keeps reappearing and disappearing. And sometimes getting permanently stuck even when the follower doesn't even have any arrows. But disabling the quiver option in NFF and using yours instead works like a charm. Thanks!
@DonSakurexxx 2.2 did 'work' on 640 and newer versions. But there were unacceptably often CTDs that always pointed to Unequip Quiver SE in the crash log. NG fixed it 100% for me while retaining the core feature. Given that there were so many reports of CTD and how well NG worked, it was simply beneficial for everyone 640 and up to just use imnotfamous' mod. Can't comment on how 2.2 fared with 1.5 game versions.
But modders have been kind enough to leave NPC support to Unequip Quiver SE, so I'm glad it's now updated to 2.3.
Remember that Unequip Quiver NG only works on the PC, not NPCs - and my main requirment is the NPCs, not my PC (I play exclusively in 1st person, so my PC appearance only matters in certain situations) - if you only want PC, it is a good alternative.
I would love to use this version as it allows for much greater personalization.
However, it is truly a conundrum to me. But whenever I have this mod installed, my game produces additional *.bin-files within the save-game folder. If I remove this single mod, then the *.bin-files are no longer generated. It is as if there is a line of old code in there that seems to think that this is Skyrim Legacy (Oldrim), instead of Skyrim SE/AE.
Unfortunately, this also happens with the newest version.
Bin files are generated if the "Enable saving of Player settings" is activated, so if you deactivate the option the bin files will no longer be created, I created this method to ensure that the mod does not affect game saves in any way, so I repeat you do not necessarily have to remove the mod just go to MCM change the setting mentioned before and that's it.
Since version 2.3 this mod is NG and is compatible with the latest Skyrim updates (1170 and GOG included), so if you want NPCs support you should use this mod.
1.5.97 - Have always had the odd ctd pointing to this mod - always on travel - either fast travel or carriage travel - but nothing else seems to work for npcs (didn't read the description closely for Unequip Quiver NG - stopped the ctds, but doesn't work for NPCs) which is the reason I want an unequip quiver/ammo mod - anyone found a solution?
If you have Nether’s Follower Framework, there's an option to unequip quivers for Followers. Not for all NPCs, but it's something. (Sorry if this wasn't helpful)
If you're using Immersive Equipment Display, installing the Disable Quiver preset from IED - Tutorial and Presets does something similar to this mod. So you can just use that preset and uninstall this mod. Simply install both mods, go to your game, press Backspace, see the top bar and go to View > Gear Nodes. Remember to do both for Player and NPC. See image for further details.
That being said, Disable Quiver had been a staple in my LO for some years. Thanks PK0.
That preset does not work like this mod does for me. Quivers are only hidden if I have no favorited bows even if I do not currently have them equipped.
this mod's default setting will make the archery enemy unable to shoot(because they don't have a quiver equipped) , they will just walk around until you get too close and they will pull the dagger out. you need to change the ini setting like this :
bBow=0
bCrossbow=0
bHideQuiverOnSheathe=1
bHideBoltOnSheathe=1
bHideQuiverOnSheatheNPC=1
bHideBoltOnSheatheNPC=1
or make the changes in mcm if you choose the option.

The mod was rewritten using CommonlibSSE-NG, it should be compatible with all versions of Skyrim.
Compatibility list:
Simple Dual Sheath
Ecotone Dual Sheath
All Geared Up Derivative SE - ALLGUD
Weapons Repositioner SE (my other mod)

Edit: Never mind. Added mid-game and had to create a new save and reload. I'm dumb
