For those who find that the duration of the spell is not changing, I had the same problem. I think that is because you already have the spell. I went into the console and cleared my existing spell, player.removespell 00043324, and then added a new Candlelight spell tome, player.additem 0009E2A7 and re-read it. For me, it works now.
I'm having the duration not changing problem. I have removed the spell and then relearned it. That changes the duration, but as soon as I equip it, it changes back to the regular version. Does anyone know a fix?
Hi, I'm using "Torches Cast Shadows", as the name suggests: this mod allows torches to cast shadows, but there is also a module that allows for "Candlelight" to cast shadows as well. When the "Candlelight" module is disabled, this mod (Better Candlelight) work as supposed, however, when enabled, this mod stops working. Does anyone know a workaround or a fix for this? (Skyrim SE (AE) v1.6.640).
hey i got a question , and i hope it gets answered soon, i am using lanturnlight a candlelight replacer, and it has a glitch where i cant turn it off, if it only changes texture of the candlelight will it clash with this mod?
I'm using "Illuminate" from Oldrim in my SSE (not AE). It works great, but like all Candlelight spells and Magic Effects, it has a blinding souorce that hovers over my head, making it almost impossible to play in 3P when it is running. Does anyone know of a Candlelight (self-centered light) that has no visible source, i.e. everything gets visible out to a ridiculous range but without any visible light source?
And no, NightEye doesn't work at all with my ENB, plus it puts a blue cast on everything when it does work (when I disable my ENB). I just need an extended-range, natural color, sourceless Candlelight-ish effect.
I just started using a mod called Battle Ready Candlelight Fixes that (mostly) solves the blinding issue. It doesn't eliminate the light source like you were saying, but it does dim it substantially and remove the "aura" around the light source that tends to blot out the screen. It also moves the Candlelight a bit further ahead of the player character so it isn't as close to the camera. Overall, it's a hell of a lot easier to see while Candlelight is on than in the base game.
Velexia's Candlelight and Magelight Edit? Removes Candlelight and Mage Light orbs, brings warm color. I believe this might work to fix anyone's issue with ENB bright ass light in your face.
I never saw the point of torch mods because I always used Candlelight. It's so cheap to cast that even a warrior with 100 magicka can cast it continuously and you get to keep both of your hands free unlike with a torch. This mod is Candlelight's Everlight for me and it makes it much less annoying because it gets rid of the need to constantly recast it.
I greatly appreciate this. I take screenshots and went for the unlimited option personally. My character has the power to cast fire storm and decimate a room full of enemies in seconds but keeping a little passive light on is just too draining according to Bethesda (ha).
It would be nice to see this retextured to a warm fire like light. I think there is a mod that does something similar but this would conflict with it. There's another where entire torches follow you around next to your head but that would just make me feel like I'm in Harry Potter.
Ah well. This is fine for now. Thanks for making it.

Kudos for this pointer.

I opted for unlimited. cast/recats = on/off. So simple.

Thanks.
