at a glance I thought this was just a cheat mod (nothing wrong with that btw, just not for me), but the reason it was made is super wholesome and cool! If i played VR with full body tracking then this is definitely something i'd consider
Thanks heheh, this was somewhat a little joke mod I did while I was looking for a way to help the VR sickness Skyrim gave me after a few minutes, marching in place has been one of the best helpers regarding that.
I recently came back to mod Skyrim VR again so I might take a try to learn how to do this kind of "tweak" mods with SKSE instead of a plugin (sadly Skyrim VR doesn't suppor ESL so we rely on Wrye Bash to reduce plugin count).
Can you point me to what I need to know to make a vr treadmill mode?
VR treadmills can't detect sprint (except the home made ones that use NaLo). Kats Run mode sets you to always run, or in Skyrim, always sprint. The Omni ones pcvr will probably not have sprint detection.
So I'd like to make something that automatically turns on sprint when your running fast enough, or just changes max run speed to match sprint speed, (guess you'll need the sprint button for special sprinting power attacks) and lets you run in all directions, so you can look behind you while running away from something. The treadmill bases this off your head position, so in that case you'd technically be running backwards and the game would slow you down.
For Kat, It technically works, but doesn't have the intended effect. Kat Gateway has an option for "run" mode, but if you select it, it doesn't matter what speed settings you pick or how slow you try to move, its always in "sprint" mode, though it may be a slow sprint. So, if you want to sprint freely, install this mod. But you'll keep running into and annoying people.
It works perfectly with NaLo, which also detects jump. Something Kat cannot do.
Could you possibly make another optional file that just removes stanima drain completely. I have this idea that stanima should be based on your real life fatigue and I just don't see Stanima being useful at all in that reguard. Or I could take a recommendation to a mod that does if you know of any. Good mod btw.
I have not installed a mod manually in... I don't even remember, 2012 maybe?
If you really want to install manually it should be just like dropping one of the ESP into the Data directory and enabling it on the .ini (don't even know how that .ini works since MO2/Vortex takes care of that).
But I 100% suggest you try Mod Organizer or Vortex to install mods nowadays.
Sorry to ask, but this is such a smart mod, is it possible to have this for attacking also? It doesn't make sense that you don't rely on your real life stamina when swinging a sword.
