About this mod
Overhauls wispmothers, giving them hair, some needed mesh fixes, and a unique replacer for the Pale Lady. Now with custom install options.

Serene Wispmothers is a mesh and texture replacer for all wispmothers, including a unique mesh for The Pale Lady of Frostmere Crypt. The intent is to achieve the most lore-friendly overhaul of these creatures, giving respect to their speculated origins as the vengeful spirits of murdered snow elf maidens, all without looking out of place.
As of version 2.0, the mod contains various customization options via installer.
You may now choose:
- one of three styles for regular wispmothers, or none (see images)
- one of three styles for the unique Pale Lady replacer, or none (see images)
- two levels of mesh emittance (vanilla or enhanced glow)
- three levels of texture resolution (1K, 2K, 4K).
The Pale Lady replacer plugin is ESL-flagged to save a slot.
Installation
Install the mod through a mod manager and use the on-screen FOMod installer.
Compatibility Notes
Wispmother retextures are compatible if you install them after this mod. I recommend trying it out if you want a more classic vanilla+ look with the new hair.
Wispmother model replacers are not compatible, as they replace the same thing.
Mods that affect wispmother stats, let you summon wispmothers, add more wispmothers to the world etc., will just work out of the box with the new models, with one caveat: mods that affect the Pale Lady may override her unique skin to vanilla (meaning she will look like the other wispmothers). You can get around this by loading Serene Wispmothers later in the load order.
