FYI this doesn't work with Hvergelmir's Beards mod. You have to download @NaChooey's fix "Beards by Hvergelmir for High Poly Heads" -- https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/65920?tab=posts&BH=0. Otherwise you get mad clipping on the face and cheeks.
Just trying to understand what this mod does-- if I keep having a problem with mod added NPCs have their faces clip through the beards that makes it look really bad, this mod will fix that?
I mean, mods that add non-high poly NPCs are for some reason using the High-Poly beards (added by High-Poly head, I'm assuming) with non-High-Poly heads, producing these strange results.
I am able to fix it manually by changing the NPC in the CC to use the high-poly head, but it will take a tremendous amount of effort to hunt down and do that for every mod added NPC.
I think the problem is that the Char-gen beards for HPH have their position swapped with the vanilla beards in the selection, so the Char-gen points to a goatee or something that is vanilla, but instead (again, I am assuming as part of HPH) the high poly version is where the vanilla beard should be, so the character in-game now has a beard clipping through their head, or vice-versa.
I know this a long-winded comment and that you don't have to help if you don't want to, but I am wondering if either this mod fixes this problem, or if there is a way to fix this problem?
Regardless, I am going to try this mod and see if it helps! Cheers
Hi. I finally fixed the issue after hours of frustration. You need to download a high poly head NPC overhaul and that will fix all the beard clipping issues. This mod will not fix it because it doesn't overhaul or edit npcs.
I had a different problem. It was with the Expressive FaceGen Morphs mod. It makes all mod added NPCs look terrible, but only male characters. So I simply deleted all the files in the mod's loose files that affected male characters.
I wanted to, but it doesn't work. Unfortunately some of the beard re-combos in Hvergelmir's stuff point to NIF models that use short braids and jewelry from the Dwemer beard models. These NIF files were not translated to the HPH mod, so if you try to convert the Hvergelmir head parts that points to those files they end up with missing pieces in-game.
But would this still help with the Hvergelmir beards that don't use Dwemer beard pieces? Also, wouldn't it be possible to convert Dwemer beards to HPH?
In order to do high-poly Dwemer-based beards you'd need to upgrade those meshes similar to what the HPH author did to the player-usable beards. That's way beyond my talent.

You don't need to download anything other than High Poly Head for this mod to work. All the original mods do is recombine base-game beard assets to make new ones. This mod recombines HPH beard assets to make duplicates of those beards for use with High Poly Head.

Would be great, thanks.
By the way, if you could put more example of the beards in your mod pictures, it would be better.
just wanted to know if you can make mod hair for high poly heads.
this would be great
thank you
bye

Aye. That's beyond the scope of this mod, however.
