As of Song of the Green 2.1, the Daughter of Valenwood replacer has been officially integrated into the original mod! If you've installed my mod previously and are updating to Song of the Green 2.1, you must remove the old (1.4 and below) version of Daughter of Valenwood. You don't need it anymore.
For those who've used this mod before and like some of the options, or are new and want some more visual options, you can download the new 2.1 version of Daughter of Valenwood. No plugins necessary.
What this mod does now: Adds options for alternate eye, hair and teeth textures, as well as alternate horns/antlers and the option to remove the horns entirely. Plus a CBBE texture patch. Note: I've changed the version numbers of this mod to match those of Song of the Green. Makes it less confusing imo.
Update 2.1
Compatibility with version 2.1 of Song of the Green
Forwards the eye texture, horns/antlers, teeth texture, and hair texture options from the previous versions to v2.1
CBBE texture patch, since Song of the Green 2.1 uses the UNP/vanilla compatible textures by default
Update 1.4: Long overdue update. I've just been really busy.
Finally updated to work with Song of the Green 1.4 (Previously, this replacer would revert some of the changes like Auri's perks that she no longer has in 1.4)
Face update - A somewhat subtle update to Auri's face based on a version I've been using in my game for the past year. Mainly to make her face structure a little more realistic. Also, her eyebrows are closer to the color of her hair instead of being black like before. If you prefer the previous version, let me know and I'll add an option to keep that. They're just mesh edits, so this doesn't affect saves
New Amber colored eyes option, based on the drawing of Auri on Waribiki's page
Option for Auri to have antlers or not, plus 3 different styles of antlers to choose from. (The antlers version has a separate ESP from the no antlers version. So, if you've been using your own updated ESP to make it compatible with Song of the Green 1.4 and you install the antlers, the ESP that comes with the FOMOD needs to overwrite that)
New hair texture - Salt and Wind Mixed. An edit I made that combines the original hair texture with Salt and Wind since I find Salt and Wind's textures to be a little too flat shaded sometimes
Should be fine to update mid-save, but make sure to keep backups from before just in case. The exception is if you used yRaven's ESL flagged plugin in the comments. Due to how ESL flagging works, updating from that to version 2.0 may have issues since version 2.0 is still a standard ESP.
Update 1.2: Just fixed some eyebrow clipping when Auri makes certain expressions, at least as far as I could tell. I used commands to test the expressions I'd originally missed, so let me know if it's still an issue.
This current update only changes a mesh, so I don't believe there should be any issues towards your save if you update. However, I generally say not to overwrite your last save whenever you update or install a mod, just in case things don't go well and you need to revert back.
Update 1.1: Added a RaceMenu preset in Optional Files. Check the description for required mods and installation instructions.
Thank you for all the kind comments and endorsements!
Gotta say 10/10 on this one. This is by far the best replace I ever used. I'm so happy to have a canonly accurate Auri true to merri's design. Nothing can compare, really, to this level of beauty. Look al those beautiful round eyes. The way her antlers really pop into existence. That big beautiful smile. it honestly is so well put together.
(Help i'm being held at bowpoint to write nice things about this instead of asking what I did wrong, save me.)
Bosmer are the most human-looking elves, so I like when they have a little extra something to stand out, personally. Morrowind apparently gave them horns, and ESO also brought them back.
But again, I'll probably update this mod for people who want the alternative looks at some point. It just isn't at the highest priority for me right now, so I can't say when. Probably not long too long from now maybe but we'll see. That said, removing horns isn't hard to do. You have to remove the headpart in Creation Kit in the NPC settings, and from the head mesh itself using NifSkope.
Thanks for the info. I really meant that I also liked the options in this one, larger or no horns and so forth, and it's a pity that we don't have them right now. Either way, I'm glad she still looks like Auri to me, even if some minor details are different. And congrats on being her standard appearance now. Very cool.
Her skin colors don't match; her head is noticeably lighter than her body. I've tinkered with the head texture files with no success. I had the same issue with Caesia but simply replacing the mod's female head texture files with the matching files from the default body worked fine. What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it? Thanks! Love the work.
Hi there! Long time fan of this mod. I wanted to know though, is there ANY POSSIBLE way to add my own custom specular map WITHOUT changing my base cbbe specular map? Like is there a way to change the location the mod pulls it from? Thank you so much in advance!!
This mod needs updating please my opinion this is the best look on Auri But It works so well for the longest time and now her face is all messed up and it crashes my game now whenever go by her!
Really nice mod for Auri, but she keeps going invisible at random. Removing this mod fixes it. And yes, I have all of the required mods installed and in the proper order.
Had just installed this mod, having the same issue. Invisible not as in magic effects, but as in just not visible. Disabled and Enabled through console commands and she reappears for a second then fades from view again. Disabled the replacer & reloaded the save and there's no issue, she stays visible.
*EDIT* After some searching I saw where others were having similar issues with other followers or NPCs in general in relation to Faster HDT-SMP. I was running an older version of it since I'm still on Skyrim v1.6.353, so I hadn't bothered to update it. Updated to the most recent version that still supports my game & it seems to have solved the issue.
So great mod! Didn't have any issues... till I did. Auri just straight up dies and there's nothing I can do and I have a feeling this mod has something to do with it.
Not from this mod, since I never touched those properties. Sounds like another mod or something might be changing her so she isn't essential anymore. Could also be from an ini file, if it's happening to other npcs.
