Walkthrough and Troubleshooting <- Please read this first if you run into any trouble (warning: it's full of spoilers). If this can help you, then I can spend more of my time working on Chapter III. But if it doesn't help you, then please don't hesitate to come to the help channel in the discord; it's absolutely OK -I want to help.
Version 1.31 fixes a bug introduced in 1.29 that had NPC reactions interrupt scenes, and removes the need for a patch to keep her off NFF. Uninstall the NFF patch; is no longer needed and was causing problems since it was outdated. Thanks to BigAndFlabby for the help on this!
DAR has been updated for Anniversary Edition! Happy day. Make sure to pick the right version depending on whether you play in AE or SE.
Version 1.27 lets Naenra enjoy herself a little bit with her new body form -after all, why get it if she was going to stay in the cave anyway, right? Moving the last few scenes away from the cave is not only more scenic, but probably helps with the weird freeze-bug other people experience but I never did it.
Also in 1.27: you can now favorite the Lesser Power that summons Daumbra. More details in the "Summon Spell Mechanics" article, but basically this single power will be your go-to for equipping, throwing her as a javelin, summon, etc. It comes to you in the right moment during the story (when you acquire the throw feature).
Update 1.23 is out, and with it, Daumbra gains her own Perk tree to unlock as you level up. She also gains custom animations, see the article for details!
CVR Voices is no longer a requirement, and we have brand new voicelines for Chapter I Clavicus. It's safe to update mid-playthrough.
Skeever (Mod of the Month for April 2021), now with 15k lines of dialogue, adds a thousand more to cover Daumbra's story for Chapters I and II. Kerstyn also recorded over a hundred brand new lines as well. This is a great patch and worth playing the story for all over again! :)
Huge thank you to Dan from GLEclipseGaming for his walkthrough video series. It covers everything!

Another playthrough I completely enjoyed was published by Zero Period Productions:
Daumbra was a fantastic role to portray and my first ever sentient weapon role! Thank you Fable. I hope you all enjoy the adventure unfolding before you with this chapter? It'd definitely a beautiful tale.
Kerstyn, I can't say enough good things about your performance! I *felt* her come alive through the speakers -it was almost spooky. Keep being awesome! I'll be lucky to have you in my next mod too! :)

I wanted to create a list of people who can be used once player reaches THAT one part of the story in the lategame. Mostly spoiler free but there most likely will be spoilers related to Dragonborn and Dawnguard DLCs. Modded characters should also work as far as i'm aware.
Edit: Old NPCs dont work unless you use a tool which changes their voice type.
When playing as a good character, here's a list of undesirable NPCs which can be used.
Spoiler:
Show
Deeja, double crossing bitch. Quite good if you do her last, though. The Caller, Necromancer which is encountered when doing College of Winterhold's book gathering quest. Eisa Blackthorn, an ex bandit outside of Frostmere Crypt. Gets very pissy at you and attacks if you choose the agressive speech option. Silvia, Darklight tower. Part of the Repentance quest line, must be killed. Lu'ah Al-Skaven, necromancer. Main antagonist of Ansilvund burial chambers miscallaneous quest. The Skinner, Silver hand boss. Sometimes spawns as female. Medresi Dran, angarvunde. Gets killed during her miscallaneous quest. Minorner, Ruunvald temple. Sorcerer who made all the confused Vigilants inside worship her as some kind of god. Rigel Strong-arm, a bandit leader living in Pinewatch. Umana, Alftand cathedral, victim of confusing writing. Turns on her companion, and at that time also attacks the player. Astrid. Nuff said. Fura Bloodmouth, Volkihar clan. Hestla, Volkihar clan. Modhna, Volkihar clan. Salonia Caelia, Volkihar clan. Can also be used if siding with vampires. Kaie, forsworn agent, No one escapes cidhna mine. Only spawns when at first siding with Madanach. You must doublecross forsworn. Shavari, Thalmor agent which spawns in Cornered Rat questline. Turns hostile when leaving riften ratway. Gabrielle, Destroy the Dark Brotherhood! Questline. Alva, Nord vampire, part of the Morthal vampire questline.
Character choises which are more neutral. These consist of using already deceased NPCs as well as NPCs related to daedric quests.

Fjola, a non-hostile bandit boss at mistwatch. Part of the mistwatch questline, can be flipped off with the right dialogue option. It's up to you whether you think it's morally the right choise to kill a non-hostile bandit boss or not. Ahjisi, part of the Ill met by moonlight quest. Can be used if you side with Sinding. Batum gra-Bar, already deceased NPC, spawns in Ill met by moonlight bloated grotto. Hoddreid, already deceased NPC, spawns in Ill met by moonlight bloated grotto. Eriana, Ill met By Moonlight- related hunter. Can be used if you side with Sinding. Tsrasuna, Ill met by moonlight quest. Can be used if you side with Sinding. Mireli, already deceased dunmer in Kolbjorn barrow. Can be found in Unearthed questline later on. Eydis, already deceased Nord in the dwarven ruin of Fahlbtharz. Katria, part of the Lost to the Ages questline and she is already deceased. Her body is in Arkngthamz. Larina, Hob's fall cave. Gets killed by necromancers. Nimphaneth, wood elven cannibal who only appears in Taste of Death questline. You can double cross the cannibal followers if you wanna be cheeky. Selvenni Nethri, a non-hostile necromancer in Southridge Sanctum. Straight out tells you that she practises necromancy, but she doesn't turn on you. If you play as a paladin, you can call her death justified.
Evil character choises. These consist of Dark Brotherhood questline targets as well as Dawnguard's vampirism. Also some specific really annoying characters can be found here.

Tilde, Vori, Beleval, Ingjard. Dawnguard related NPCs, can be used if you side with the vampires. Salonia Carvain, a random encounter. Victoria Vicci's cousin, very snobbish and irritating. Alea Quintus, one of the killable choises in With friends like these quest. Asta, Eldergream sanctuary. Probably gets killed by Spriggans if you decide to use the sap. Salma, Ironbind Barrow. Most likely gets killed when heading inside the barrow if she and her lizard follower come with you. Beitild, has a dark brotherhood contract on her. Dawnstar. Nilsine Shattershield, dark brotherhood contract. Windhelm. Safia, dark brotherhood contract. Red wave at the solitude docks. Gianna, unfortunate cook in To kill an Empire. Astrid? Technically she is a named NPC, you must kill her later on. Tsavani, thalmor cook in the Thalmor Embassy. Ahlam,. Nazeem's wife. She is not insufferable like Nazeem, but if you wanna be a real bastard you can kill her to mess with Nazeem.
I'm getting an annoying bug, not game breaking but annoying all the same, everytime i equip daumbra, my controller just starts vibrating uncontrollably and doesnt stop, even when sheathing daumbra and changing weapons it continues. Disabling controller vibrate obviously fixes this but i don't really want it disabled for everything.
Sorry to hear that man, I definitely do not have any code in the mod that involves controllers -the controller must be deciding to rumble based on something, and I've no idea what that something is. Could it be that it's enchanted? Or has a fire effect, or maybe the looping sound? Sorry I can't be of much help here.
Not sure if this was posted before or not, But i have an issue where the sword model disappears, but the character is still there and i can talk to her. Can anyone help?
Hi, I believe you just confirmed in discord that the issue is fixed.
For anyone else having this issue: Daumbra sheathed her sword. This is not supposed to happen: I edit the behavior to make that impossible for her custom race, so I'm not sure how it happened. But the fix is to resurrect her, which happens automatically a few seconds after she dies (try "killall" in the console) or when you use the summon spell.
Interesting, the regular Soul Cairn, the one you go to for Dawnguard in the vanilla game? Huh. That's odd, would you mind sending me a picture in discord? Thanks!
EDIT: Nevermind, I see it. This is the oddest thing I've seen since the mod was released. This will be fixed in the next update, thanks for letting me know!
Wanted to second this. It looks disconnected from everything else, and has no collision so I assume something was meant to go there but wasn't finished.
I just got this mod recently, and other than the replacer weapon issues (When you first visit the College) it's been running smoothly for me, I just unlocked the Javelin throw part of Daumbra and I know there's a lot more to come, this mod has been loads of fun so far!
Silly question though, I know you eventually can opt to get Daumbra a body so she turns from a sentient weapon into a full-fledged companion, does this mean you won't have access to the weapon and the perks (Javelin throw, hoverboard shenanigans) if you do?
hello ,awesome mod but Im trying to run it on the anniversary edition but I cant interact with Daumbra ,I can summon her and all that but I cant interact with her .what should I do ?
I believe we're already helping you in the discord, if you're the same person. If you're not, then check that this mod loads last in the load order and that you're not importing Daumbra into any follower manager (such as NFF, AFT, etc). Those are fine for you to use, just not with Daumbra. Come to the discord if you still need help.
You probably have the wrong DAR/SKSE installed, or it's installed incorrectly. DAR and SKSE are different for different versions of AE vs SE; I suggest double-checking that.
They might after 30 days or so of not being used. To prevent that, try putting a quest item in their inventory. This article has more details: https://www.neoseeker.com/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/faqs/739617-skyrim-thrall.html
Hello, first of all, i must say i love this mod, for all the complexity it mostly works great. Voice acting and story are also very nice. However, I'm playing VR, and got a bug with invisible body. I deleted 2 folders as per instructions, but i have no "2130083631" to edit. any idea why?
You sure? There should be a "meshes\actors\character\animations\DynamicAnimationReplacer\_CustomConditions\2130083631" folder, and inside the conditions text file you take out the line about IsInCombat. You can always reinstall -I'm positive the folder exists. Come to the discord, there are people who use VR who could possibly help you (I don't use VR myself). Best of luck.
So i just started the quest for this and got to the part where you wake her up but whenever I summon her she craps out baskets, did I do something wrong?
The baskets are caused by another mod called Skyrim Re-Done, specifically SkyRe_Combat.esp . It was a fun time in my discord finding that out with another player :) I suggest you point this out (politely) in their comments page, or uninstall it.
