    5.0 is now up. This version switches the mod to uses the new SE MCM Become a Bard as a master. Pevey's new update provides a great and
    stable SE format. You should install on a new save as the globals of the bard skill are changed and won't carry over. This update was done carefully so that the bard books were changed over without changing their positions or ids in the college to keep patches functional so your patches for the college cells should all still be good to go.

    Due to feedback, the AIO patch 3.4 now includes all 9 original NPCs at the college. Although AIO does not touch all the NPC directly, this was made so modders can patch with NPC appearance overhauls easier. Galishai is providing a patch for users of high poly heads and Pandorable's appearance overhaul.

    Some new patches and options released for version 3.3.
    *Updated patches for AIO and USSEP.
    *Updated patch for Snazzy SFCO v2.1.2.
    *New patch for Keep it Clean to utilize new bathing room.
    *Updated Undeath Patch.
    *Mrf provides their own texture patch updated to Bards Reborn 3.3.

    *Note: ELFx patch continues to be the one patch that is a plugin, not ESL. I was asked before if you can convert to ESL, the answer is yes but the file may be updated again later. It may be too tricky for you to remember to do your conversions with each update.
    *Reminder: RLO patch has a fix for RLO caused seams around stairways. I contacted RLO creator and he said he no longer works on the mod. One patch has the fix for RLO caused seams, but might not apply a Solitude retexture of stairway. No one has reported such a case, but if it happens to you, use the earlier RLO patch and live with the small seams.

    This mod is great. Really turns the Bard's College into an actual learning experience, rather than an instant initiation and a fetch quest. Some of these tests are actually challenging (more than a dungeon puzzle, less than a chemistry exam). And, on my second playthrough, I've yet to encounter a bug or even a conflict. For anyone looking for a bit more immersion in their playthrough, I can't recommend this enough.

    Hello,
    I was wondering whether anyone has experience of using EasyNPC with Bards Reborn and Become a Bard? It identifies them both as 'suspicious masters' - presumably they edit NPC records. Do I need to exclude them from, or set to ignore them in, my EasyNPC build - this is what EasyNPC's advice recommends - or are there other suggestions for using them together? Thank you for any advice!

    I’m currently playing on the XBox and have this mod along with Legacy of the Dragonborn downloaded. I seem to be running into the issue of not being able to play any of the instruments, an issue that has been noted on a few posts on Reddit. I reached out to WillOhTheWisp and she didn’t know of any issues but directed me to the discord taking care of Legacy on the console. After speaking with them, they also have no idea why the mods would be conflicting. I’m currently not running any other mod like Wearable Lanterns that has been known to conflict. Any idea what may be causing the issue? May there be a patch someday if there is an issue found? Thank you for the assistance!

    Hello, I love this mod. It really brings needed life to the collage. 
    I have a problem with the Music Instrument exam as I can't read all of the plaques. It cuts off before it has ended.  I tried scrolling down. Nope. Tried using the arrow keys. That didn't work either, I don't have any mods that change the fonts. Is there a way that I have missed to read these that I have missed? I really think that I miss a lot of the lore from these museum pieces as the rest of the plaque is unseen. Thanks to anyone in advance for any help.

    In case anyone is thinking they are alone, I just tried the 5.0 in conjunction with the latest version of Skyrim's Got Talent(1.76) and the 3.51 patch that is designed to make them work together. On the surface it seemed to work, although the free movement did not, but as I got into testing it I found that song books all appeared individually in the Skyrim powers menu instead of together in the play instrument menu and you could click on a book to get a random song but you could not get into the book and select a specific song. This was a mod breaker to me.

    I had to go back to the Bards Reborn Student of Song loose files version 4.4 and its script fix in place of the new 5.0. I am testing that right now. Free movement works and the song books and play instrument menu work. I am still nervous about the duet code. I tested it and it's still bad. If you play the wrong duet you will be stuck drumming your lute and flute and I have not come up with a sure-fire way to break out of that. I tried reinstalling and then I found a really early save where things were working and loaded ever save thereafter until I hit a spot where I was drumming my lute and I had to start the game back up from the last good save.

    Test Details: Bards Reborn 4.4 and it's script fix patch, Skyrim's got Talent v1.76,  Bards Reborn-SGT - main file v3.51 (the patch that makes SGT and Reborn work together), SGT Player Reactions addon v1.07, SGT-Bards Reborn-Player Reactions addon v1.0, the free movement for SGT v1.6, the player reactions free movement patch v1.0, and Bards Reborn USSEP patch 3.3. I hope I didn't leave anything out. If anyone comes up with a better setup, I'm all ears. My thanks to a lot of people who did a lot of hard work trying to bring the bards college to life.

    I know this is probably not possible but a patch making the way you join the college and learn instruments from this mod combined with the quests of the paid mod "Bards College expansion" would be really cool!!

    I felt the quest side of Bards college expanded was great, and some of the abilities you learn via that mod are great too but the way you learn instruments and the way you join the college... not so much.

      And Creation Bars College expansion

      Keeping the best features of each mod would be awesome BUT i must say i will play bards college expansion later so i don't know how much these 3 mods need patching between them

      A patch that keeps the best of all would be the ultimate bard expansion, definitely possible because they do really different things. I will wait till this day and refuse to decide ^-^

      Based on nexus he's not allowed to do a patch for a paid mod bard college expansion ....
      if he's mod conflict with that mod then there is nothing to do anymore

      Patches for paid mods are allowed if they're optional files on a larger project; but they're not allowed to be their own mod page, or even part of a "patch hub". It's weird but it's like that.

      To clarify what is and is not acceptable when it comes to compatibility patches, integrations and translations for paid mods we have included some examples below.

      Acceptable Examples

      • A free mod on Nexus Mods includes an optional compatibility patch on the page to allow it to work with a paid mod. 

      Unacceptable Examples

      • A mod page includes a translation of a paid mod to another language. This should be posted on the paid modding platform.
      • A mod page includes only compatibility patch(es) between a paid mod and any other free mod(s). This content should be posted on either the original mod pages that are being patched OR on the paid modding platform. 

      • A mod page containing a patch hub that includes a mixture of patches for paid and free mod content. The paid mod patches should be posted on either the original mod pages that are being patched OR on the paid modding platform.
      So a patch would be possible, as long as it's placed as an optional file here and not on a separate page.

      @mv63 - They're not currently compatible with each other because Bards College Expansion essentially makes a copy of the interior cell of the Bards College, so all the edits that Bards Reborn makes to the vanilla college aren't applied to the BCE.

      The quests don't actually touch each other. All of the Bards Reborn quests are done prior to Tending the Flames, whereas BCE begins during that quest...so you CAN technically use them together, but the door to the college will only take you into one of the interiors and you'll have to CC your way into the other one. Or you can activate BCE once you've completed all the quests for Bards Reborn and place it lower in the load order so that that's where the door takes you.

      I imagine an integration patch would have to transfer all of the important NPCs of one mod into the interior cell of the other, allow for the Bards Reborn college renovations to be in place, and make sure the scripting is all good between them. It would also have to take into account the fact that Bards Reborn requires Become a Bard in the first place, and there would have to be compatibility between that mod and BCE as well; alternatively, Bards Reborn could be changed to use BCE as a dependency instead.
