Was hoping that the bug fixes and improvements from this mod would compliment the other, unfortunately it seems this mod completely overrides the ladder's usage no matter which load order I place them in. In short; This mod disables the one handed use of Sensible Dragonhide forcing it back to being a two handed spell. Just a PSA for anyone who wants to try both mods together like I was (Unless I'm doing something wrong which is possible. I am not a clever man).
Hi, thanks for the mod, it rocks! One request if its possible, but could you make a version of the mod alters the duration to last for 5 minutes? I know that this is obviously not balanced, but im asking it just for fun to see what its like- thanks
Great mod, turned an overall annoying spell to use due to the weird gimmicks into a spell my wizard regularly throws on for more intense fights. Thanks!
For some reason, this mod isn't working for me. Even though your mod is active and near the bottom of my load order in MO2, dragonhide disappears from my active effects when I use it with ebony flesh, regardless of which of the two I start with. Any thoughts on what I could try to track down the problem?
Do you have any mods that affect Perks in the game, specifically if it affects the DragonhideSpellPerk? Can you use SSEEdit to look for possible conflicts?
Hi. Great mod. I have a question. With the sustained magic usage to this mod. I certainly can cast a flesh spell and dragonhide with this mod, which fixes one of the most broken aspects of magic versus non-magic characters in the game. But, is the new dragonhide supposed to be a sustained spell?
I know sustained magic (and patch(es)) are not your responsibility but I am looking for someone to say yes or no to this as dragonhide is not sustained in my installation.
Thank you for not only creating the mod but also explaining the problem and solution.
Sorry for the late response. I tried using the sustained magic mod in combination with this mod, on Anniversary Edition (v1.6.342.0). The spell doesn't sustain. I've personally never tested whether it sustained in Special Edition either. Do let me know if you're using this mod at all, and if you really want to see it work with Sustained Magic.
Hi, Well, my late reply ... been playing other games lol. Just fired this up again and I am using the sustained magic mod and this mod seems sustained when I cast it and works as advertised. Thanks!
So how does this override the games built in damage reduction cap of 80% exactly? Bethesda made this setting for a reason. Because once you start going over that, you start to become invisible, like you are running around with TGM turned On.
you already are basicly invinsable with 80 % dmg reduction but to tell you why:
You can have armor that gives you 80% dmg reduction, and any other form of dmg reduction will reduce the remaining dmg(20% in this case) by whatever ammount you se it to,in this case you would have 80% dmg reduction from armor and 80% dmg reduction from dragonhide wich equals 96% total dmg reduction. This is because the dmg reduction itself is not capped by game mechanics, just the reduction from armor caps at 80%. You can change dragonhide to give 100% dmg reduction if you want and it will make opponents that have no spells flee from you as they cant dmg you.
The 80% Damage Reduction cap applies only to armor. The protective effect of the Dragonhide spell is independent of armor, and acts on the remainder of the damage after armor-based damaged reduction is calculated. It multiplies all incoming damage by 0.2, and even in vanilla Skyrim, it changes the armor rating of your items to 0 without recalculating your character's armor rating; it does not change armor rating unless you equip/unequip something. This mod ensures you can change armor items without worrying about your armor rating plummeting. I do agree that the effect stacking with armor makes you OP, but it doesn't make you invincibe. You would still take 4% of total incoming damage for the duration of the spell.
If you feel this is unbalanced, I could restore the armor nullifying effect, but again, just like in vanilla Skyrim, it will only kick in if you unequip or equip items, unless I write a script for it, which will take time because I haven't written scripts for Skyrim mods.
You already can get that level of defense in vanilla. Physical defense with armor is 80% and block is 85% for a total cap of 97%. Magic resist and elemental resist are both capt at 85% so its possible to get near 98% damage resist against elemental damage like dragon breath. This mod isn't any more op than vanilla. it just fix something that wasn't working as it should.
Hey LordLucian7, I am currently running only Legendary Edition on my PC, and I'm yet to install Skyrim SE that I've bought on Steam due to disk space issues. I'm planning to buy an SSD within a week or two, so I will be able to finally use SSEEdit to turn this mod into an ESP-FE, flagged as ESL.
Thanks for your patience.
Update: I just realised I have enough space for Skyrim SE. Installing it as I type this. I should be able to flag it as an ESL within a few hours.
Another Update: I have added the ESL flag to this mod. Please try the mod and share your feedback. Have fun!

I hope we one day get a patch to work with the mysticism dragonhide because that still sets things to 0 lol

I only mentioned TheOneWhoSlaysU's Sustained Magic - UI Debuffs in case people asked you if they need a separate patch for that (they don't).
Are you able to make it a ESP-FE, flagged as a ESL, so it doesn't take up plugin space.
Thanks for your time.

I have very limited plugin space with over 1400 mods installed already.
I will definitely endorse this mod.
Take care my friend!
