Thanks for checking out the mod. This is one of the first armor mods I've made so I had to learn a bit about skinning in Outfit Studio. I did my best to make the meshes look and move normally but please let me know if there's any issues, or if you can make improvements!
I'm currently playing on LE mainly so won't be able to provide a lot of support for this SSE version, but please send a PM if you need my help!
mostly because this has cute collar and accessory options too if you don't want to put a pack on them, and also some armor additions what with the shield slots from the harness :D extra protection for our loyal companions
In ancient times, people did not stand on ceremony with animals. Under the difficult living conditions of a primitive civilization, people destroyed the extra mouth that did not bring economic benefit. People exploited animals mercilessly and did not perceive them as sentient beings, so they treated them as things. In any case, in reality many dogs are very strong. A husky can bring a bag of food from the store to your home. Or even a food cart. Moreover, huskies are very energetic due to their biological structure, therefore, without active physical activity, the dog begins to get bored, go crazy, and therefore the husky tears things at the owner’s house. Huskies don't have a hard time carrying people. They're actually excited about it. Two huskies can drag a person away. On this basis, there is a sport where dogs drag a person on skis or roller skates.
Attention! The mod has a minor bug. This is easy to fix yourself. The forge creates a collar with crosses instead of a chain collar. A collar with crosses should be made only of leather. To get a chain collar you need to: using SSEEdit in the “Armor” section, copy the formID “_E7_DogBackpack_CollarChain” and paste it in the “Constructible Object” section into the “_E7_DogBackpack_CollarChainCO” recipe in the “CNAM - Created Object” line.
Fix for the missing loadscreen (dogbackpack_loadscreen2.nif)
If you're noticing missing textures on one of the loadscreen its because that loadscreen requires 3 texture files from Meeko Reborn I myself am using True Meeko instead, so of course I also encountered the missing textures. The fix is rather simple, install Meeko Reborn and pick your preferred textures in the fomod installer. Then open Meeko Reborn's installation folder and find textures/bp2/meeko. Inside the meeko folder you'll find meeko.dds, fur_n.dds and fur_sk.dds. These are the 3 texture files you need. All I did was to open Dog Backpacks, create a bp2 folder and inside that i created the meeko folder. Inside the meeko folder i put those 3 textures. Why? Because, as mentioned above, I use True Meeko and not Meeko Reborn.
My only issues with this mod have been the .ESL version caused immediate CTD on load. I knew what the conflicting mod was but don't have the know-how to fix. To get around this, I downloaded the normal .ESP version, compacted the formlist IDs in SSEDIT (xEdit) and flagged the esp as esl in the header to get around my mod limit.
Voila~ it worked.
I don't have the dialogue options to add backpack, but I have Dynamic Activation Key and Dynamic Activation Add-Ons which allow me to quick open Meeko's inventory and add the backpacks in. Yes, compacting formlists is a big no-no depending on the mod and mod development status. Since it seems this mod is feature complete and doesn't have crazy scripts running, new Cells or anything of immediate concern, and I'm not adding mods that depend on it (it's a bloody armor mod for dogs), I made the decision to compact and flag.
In hindsight, I could have also merged this mod with another mod to avoid compacting if it was a fresh play through.
Thank you for this mod. All of my animals now have little backpacks and collars and look lovely. <3
Mod is downloaded and installed, but I can't craft backpacks or armor or anything at the forge or tanning rack? What's going on? I have the latest anniversary edition.

The mod author should be more communicative on the compatibility issues...
