Going to pin this because I get asked this a lot, with good reason since I've been talking about wanting to get the update out for a while now.
"been working on" is unfortunately something of a stretch. Work ate pretty much all of my free time until November, at which point a series of personal emergencies took over. There were a number of false starts over the last year where I made a bit of a headway for a week or two, and then had to pull off and burn my time on something else I'd been putting off. The restructure to accommodate all of the new quests is done, but I still have to make those and I only have a few done, and the minimum quality standards I planned out when I started make the quests frustrating to work on; no unvoiced dialogue, no AI dialogue, no "hmm? need something?" NPCs with no dialogue, all of which limit a lot of what I'd like to do with the quest to what I can find lines for, but without basically making an entire new quest from scratch I can't get around those, and I'm definitely not going to compromise them.
All of that to say, it's hard to estimate progress, and even if I could just say for example 60%, I have no idea how long the rest would take because it tends to jump forward in leaps and then stall for a while.
Is this still usable in the year of our Lord 2025 or should it be foregone? Edit: I should probably clarify that I mean with the Anniversary Edition upgrade. Edit: Edit: I should also probably clarify that "usable" is a loose term.
I don't know what RAE does to the quests so I have no idea with that one. Probably load this one later since any two quest edits should be assumed incompatible until proven otherwise, quests hold a lot of data so small changes will still overwrite the whole record. Tamrielic Distribution shouldn't matter what order they're in, possibly excepting the one that renames armors, and that should be pretty easy to patch in xedit.
I see. One issue I'm having is that Sentinel has a plugin that distributes all the CC armors through leveled lists, but comes with the price that it disables all quests related to the CC mod. That's fine, but one thing it touches (that I know of from testing) is that it disables the Arena Fan from the Dwarven Mail quest, preventing the note from spawning at all, and thus not being able to start that quest. Is there a patch available?
edit: I was about to start a crimson dirk armors but yeah I did only focus now on delivering missives and weapon delivery as I wait for the update, I think we just need the few ones listed not on the new AE things love you man!
I think I should wait more. Got me into mods now I have 1.6k and have that CC Alternate Armor mods begone from leveledlist so they can be pretty unique
ran into some issues trying to move a half finished worldspace and making this mod sucks. update is planned, but is probably not going to be save-safe, so i'm trying to do it as few times as possible.
Loving your mod so far! But I was wondering if there's any documentation on how to complete the quests?
I've been stuck trying to locate Tyra Blood-fire, as I've asked in all the inns in Eastmarch (Candlehearth, New Gnisis Cornerclub, and Kynesgrove), and had zero success with furthering the quest.
I've also gone to the Talos statue near Windhelm, as I know in vanilla CC that's where you end up meeting her. But nothing. I even tested a new character to make sure I hadn't accidentally broken something, but ran into the same road block.
Thank you so much for any help! I'm sure I'm just being an idiot lol.
I've been enjoying this mod immensely so far, thanks for this. However I've noticed a few issues during my playthrough:
- While doing Peladius' bounty, the dead guard never spawns. Either that or the body was preplaced and despawns after a while - I can't quite remember. - Same with the "Arena fan", the body just despawns after a few days. - I think this was mentioned before, but the Eagle's Talon doesn't seem to have a tempering recipe.
The dead guard should be enabled by script. I hadn't heard of either of those despawning, and they shouldn't be able to since they're persistent while they have quest items in their inventory. I'll look into it and let you know if I find anything.
Also a thing of note: I noticed the "Arena Fan" is actually a renamed woodcutter corpse from vanilla, which always despawns after a while anyway. And it's very easy for the area to load as the player travels, before the quest even starts so that might be the source of the problem.
May I suggest moving the note out of the NPC's inventory and place it somewhere in the camp instead, just as a workaround? Or perhaps make another dead NPC just for holding the note? (Maybe a bosmer with funky hair) Just a few ideas.
Not sure if this will be updated soon, but I have seen that Book Covers Skyrim has had a SkyPatcher version released. (linked)
I have no idea if the old patch will work with the new SkyPatcher version or if it continues to require the old BSA. If that could be verified by someone with a better understanding of what to look for, please let us know. It would be helpful to remove the BSA for the esl version provided in the SkyPatcher version.
No agenda, just an observation from updating my mod list so putting this here to hopefully help EpicCrab. Thank you for this mod. It made playing Skyrim more sensible.
i'm not generally a fan of skypatcher, it makes LOs a lot harder to manage by creating invisible conflicts. be nice to drop the plugin which has like 10 master files though.
