    CHANGE LOG
14.09.2021 - 1.01 - has a tiny fix that enables Fast Travel in this location (just like in Atlas Map Markers). kudos to Milo49
    28.01.2021 - 1.7 - ELSfied.
06.01.2023 - made FOMOD, addded more backgrounds.
01.02.2023 - textures compressed to BC1, may increase performance slightly; map texture with crimson nirnroot icons added.
1.8 - increased background mesh scale to support UW screens and higher FOVs (max FOV for 16:9 is 105, for UW - 90), upscaled background and map textures to 8k and 4k respectively, replaces one low-quality background with better official art. Size increased from 22 to 79Mb, if you care about disk space stick to 1.75.
    1.8.1 - compressed to BC1 (lossless).

Hi! Is there a version to match the satellite map of base skyrim? Thanks

MO2 shows version 1.8.1 as 1.7 even though I updated it. Is this normal due to it being a recent update?

I was on the task of updating my mods yesterday and found a lot of mods that haven't updated their FOMODs. No biggie though, just curiosity. Love your work. Thanks!

The map (with nirnroot markers) is fine, but I am not seeing the Elder Knowledge quest markers.  Now it has been a number of years since I last played this quest so perhaps Blackreach is old school "you want it, so find it."  Would someone put my mind at ease as to whether that is the way it is supposed to be or if I did a poor job installing this mod.

Again, aside from this problem, I like the mod.  Thanks to the author.

mod doesn't affect markers other than making their height the same.

Thank you for the reply.  So I guess if I want to complete the quest I will have to hunt around Blackreach.  So it goes.

ETA:  Okay, I restarted my game within Blackreach and the Elder Knowledge quest marker became visible and usable.  Sorry for the trouble.

Just a quick FYI for anyone using Lux and its patch for FWMF: it only includes edits for FWMF's Blackreach parent cell, a quick manual patch can be made in xEdit to work with this however (Lux's patch places Tamriel as the parent worldspace again, among the other changes from the Blackreach map that comes with FWMF).

Good to know, was wondering why it wasn't working. How exactly would I be making this particular patch?

I got my maps set up perfectly, including this one. Then I went and installed Magical Blackreach... am I screwed, or is there any hope for compatibility? 😅

I haven't tried this one, but normally FWMF stuff compatible with anything what doesn't changes related worldspace parent entry. are you absolutely positive that FWMF is below Magical Blackreach in mod and plugin load order?

Here's the bottom of my plugins load order:

I'm not sure the Magical Blackreach mod makes no changes to the worldspace though. It has a lot of terrain meshes and textures...

installed Magical Blackreach, no issues. keep it higher in the list in both plugin LO and mod LO (since it has LOD32s).

That's so weird. But thanks very much for looking at it and very sorry for another false alarm. I'll report back if I figure out what the problem is...

you absolutely sure you don't have esps or LODs outputs in Overwrite?

Pretty sure yeah... but I also have 316 enabled plugins and about twice as many mods on the other side and it's all not as organized as it probably should be 😅

  7. This is maddening.. I looked at the FOMOD source code and folder structure to confirm how it should work, and despite checking the option for shroom background, the files installed from Vortex are for the black background. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, nothing. It always copies the black background.
This is a problem I'm seeing in the other FWMF mods. The main one I check the anniversary background but it uses the dragon wall background.

I swear I'm not going crazy. I tell the FOMOD to install with the options I select and the machine is not listening to me, installs different options.

you are not crazy, that happens to Vortex users occasionally. maybe Vortex manages priorities in FOMOD differently than MO2 or there is smth else I'm not aware of, but right now I have no idea how to fix it. the best I can offer is doing it manually, you know where to get backgrounds textures anyway.

and of course I will be grateful if someone figure out what should I fix in FOMOD to make it work properly.

For whatever reason the Blackreach map is not working despite being dead last on load order. It just shows that low poly map.

then its not that deadly last after all. check if Overwrite folder of MO2 has any esp's or be sure to make a dedicated group for maps and tune its priority for Vortex.

seems to be fully compatible, just keep blackest reaches ahead of FWMF maps in LO.

blackreach map should work on its own, but I cant guarantee no issues at all (blackreach markers on skyrim main map, lighting issues in case of some weather overhaul, no way to tune mouse/keyboard speeds, inclanation/rotation etc). I'd recommend to check custom maps for skyrim compatible with FWMF first (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/53788/https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/54710, https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/53780)

I managed to get it to work, with classic paper map mod and these new ones, had to edit the FlatMapMarkers.json for it work nicely.  https://gyazo.com/13762b21a891129c576a841f371e47d6

For anyone curious with a packed load order like me, I seemed to be able to tag this as an esl in xedit with no problems. I don't believe I have any mods that require it as a master, so it's fine.
