Added, should work as intended, although with Alternate Start you will still have moments where you start out with being given experience because the mod auto completes some vanilla quests depending on where you start. I will not remove the experience gained from these quests, only from the two Alternate Start added quests.
It is not either (read as any) of the quests with the mod, it must be coming from deeper in the mod. There is no quest, that isn;y patched, that is flagged to cause any experience.
If we can get logs over the quest that completes, we can block it... Probably just easier to find what total XP you have earned by the time your game and mods are loaded, then remove those points... and stop any level ups.
I currently get 85 points, just shy of the first level up.
Start the game, and set main and objective exp to zero. Get mods enabled, and complete your alternate start, or whatever you are calling "game start", then turn the exp for main back to 75 and objective back to 10. Perfect, no unwelcomed XP... and doesn't even require any patches.
Can likely be scripted, just set the level back after unbound is completed.
"QOBJ - Objective Index" also needed to be changed to "0" instead of vanilla value "10" in the patch for this to work with frostfall because the extra 10xp is coming from the quest "objective" when frostfall is enabled.
Alternate start patch is defunct. It's placed after experience and alternate start in the load order. Category None is set to give 0 xp. Yet i'm still given some at the very beginning of my playthrough
no they're not at all. All the patches do is change the quest type from "sidequest" to "none" so they should still be working. Check your Load Order. If it's not your load order then you have experience configured to give xp for "none" quest.
It could be because the mod does not work to block XP if you select the Vanilla Start in Alternate Start. If you select the Vanilla Start it thinks that you are completing a main quest and gives you 100 XP. I don't know if there's a way to make a mod ignore that explicitly. I recommend just getting the Leveling Freedom mod instead and just raising base XP (to say, 200 or 300) and lowering the XP increase each level (~15) to flatten out leveling. That way you don't gain a ton of levels super fast early on, won't gain 1 level from Alternate start, but will level more evenly.
For ppl who are useing alt start patch so you know it working but differntly without patch you get 10xp for talking to statue then 10xp for sleeping in bed then 95xp for completing quest of alt start. Now with alt start patch you get 10xp for talking to statue 10xp for sleeping in bed then 20xp for completing quest of alt start. i believe its because experiance updated none quests to get 20 xp and 10xp for objectives. Tested it multple times.
