- Update 2022.06.09: I only had Garm and Erik listed under my old "miscellaneous" mods. Since I broke out Garm into his own mod page (due to updates I made on him) I decided I would just change this page to be pure Erik. Hence you may see comments below talking about Garm, which were before I change this mod page to be just Erik, which wsa done on 2022.06.09. I have tested him in SE today and added updated images. Other then his amulet clipping on his neck (nothing I can do about that) he is working great.
Sometimes changing mods during game play that related to NPC's or Erik can also cause problems in the save file. Under normal game play with no mods that conflict you can marry him.
How to marry him? I don't get the dialogue options. I even tried forcing his marriage with console commands and reset his dialogue but it doesn't appear. He will even comment on the amulet but won't marry
I thought it would conflict with Tragedians Faboulous Followers mod but i deactivated it and it would still be there. Could it be possible that it conlficts with the High Poly head for NPCs mod ?
That sounds positive - I haven't used that mod so can't be positive or confirm that though. I know it the HPH in general can have problems with textures and mods not fitted for it, at least for the player, so sounds like it could for NPC's.
One thought (and just a thought since I don't know if it would work) is to open up this mod in the CK with the HPH mod and try re-exporting the facegen data. Or you may have to look for a version of Erik remade with the HPH - I am sure there must be follower make over mods using the HPH.
Thank you for this mod. Erik is so cool I married him and we were adventuring together happily until he just disappeared. He's done this briefly before but he always reappeared after fast travelling somewhere. I looked in the last place I saw him, our house, and in the Frostfruit Inn. I tried console command to move to his location this took me to the inn but he was nowhere to be found. I tried loading an old save but he no longer has the dialogue, same thing when I tried to respawn him. We are still married and he is still my follower even though he is missing. Do you have any suggestions on how I can get him back?
Hi - Sad to hear he got lost. This has never happened to me but I use a limited mod list when it comes to NPC's and followers. Sounds like a mod conflict of some sort. Maybe someone else will have some idea of what might cause this.
If you know his PRID you could try to target him with the console and make sure you didn't accidentally disable his AI doing screenshots or something. If he had his AI disabled and is out of sight then commands wouldn't work. Make sure TDETECT is also enable. Lots of common little mistakes get made (I know I have made them) doing screenshots or exploring and forgetting I used a console command.
If you do find him, or have his prid, try a reset with disable/enable, then a move to command. Make sure to use the correct REF ID (the one for his mercenary self, not farm boy self) and not a place at me command, which makes a copy.
Hi just to let you know that he just turned up out of the blue! When I wrote this post I had almost given him up, but I thought I would try one more thing, I remembered seeing him in skyrim just before I took the boat to go to the wizards house in Tel Mythryn, so I went there took the lift up and down and when I came out he reappeared. Maybe there is a glitch with npcs and the float lift, anyway, so don't worry and I'm really happy he turned up and is not sleeping around with another woman ( I never trusted that Serena woman... LOL) Thankyou for your suggestions very useful if I loose him again. Love the mod
Thanks for the follow-up and now that you mention it I think that lift is glitchy at times. I recall Thrynn got stuck in it although I just pulled him out at the time so didn't think much of it and was a while back.
Anyone know why the dialogue to hire Erik the slayer isnt working and/or how to fix it? The option doesnt play audio and wont let me actually spend the 1k gold to hire him.
yeah i get that. But i cant seem to find anyone or anything on mercenary changes anywhere online so i thought i'd ask around a little more here before downloading. Imma do some more digging though. Shame i cant hire one the the greatest mercs to ever do it. The Man, The Myth, The Slayer. Cant letem down now lol.
?I think it is something about the MaleYoungEager voice. Cant even force him to hire/follow, the hire dialogue doesnt play, the transaction doesnt go through. Something, i dont know what yet, keeps them from being hired and/or joining as follower. Says the only thing he's attatched to is Skyrim esp, should be vanilla. Dont really understand whats up with that. BUT ?If you change his voice and make him recruitable then change the voice back, it works. I used the Proteus mod for that. Now i can try the mod. cant wait.
P.S. lmk where/how/if i should put this info or if i even have enough info to put it somewhere
Thanks but this mod uses the correct voice for Erik to be a follower (I never changed his voice from the vanilla one). My guess is a mod you had changed his voice to one that doesn't work as a vanilla follower and you didn't notice it.
Its a rogue outfit from some mod, not sure which one anymore. I know it has rogue in the title so searching on that word should help you track it down.
