So this is it, the final COTN release. Dawnstar was a long time ago and all this time I could count on the support of the community. I hope you will appreciate it as much as the previous three others and will have fun exploring Falkreath. This was a lot of work and I prefer not to estimate the hours spent on Blender and the CK, but it never stopped being fun and exciting ! Now I'm about to start - or continue - new projects which I hope will have the same success as this collection. If you want to check what I'm working on, you can have a look at my Patreon or my recently started YouTube channel. There I will share my current projects and discuss new ideas for mods.
Thank you all for the kind words, it means the world.
New file added to the Miscellaneous Files section. It should theoretically allow you to apply COTN Falkreath to an existing save. It's not thoroughly tested but seems like it MIGHT work at first blush?
It should only theoretically work on saves which didn't already have some city overhauls (JKs, TGC, Arthmoor's Falkreath, Helgen Reborn) or other things that potentially impact navmesh/etc (LOTD, etc) Basically, if you would need to uninstall anything in addition to installing COTN, don't try this).
So with a few slight exceptions, active development on patches is complete. If you don't find what you're looking for in the patch collection, you can assume if it's not mentioned in a sticky we're not planning on making one, so you can go ahead and start working yourself.
For everyone having problems with the COTN Mods, here are some things that you can do, to have them flawlessly work in your game. :)
1. Always start a NEW GAME with these. Not a new save, a NEW GAME. this means you have to press new game in the main menu when starting the game. Saves in helgen are not NEW GAMES.
2. Install Rob's Bug Fixes - COTN Falkreath and the corresponding versions for Winterhold etc. Rob polishes some rough edges, so to speak. Most of this you will not see in the game, but it is there.
3. Install Cities of the North - Falkreath Patch Collection and the corresponding versions for Winterhold etc. The installer automaticallly detects which mods you have installed and installs the corresponding patches. The description lists which patches are provided.
4. If you are using the Mod eFPS, install the patches from eFPS - Official Patch Hub , so that no more buildings etc. will disappear.
Bonus Tips: Use a Mod Manager and LOOT for installing Mods and sorting your Load Order. I use Vortex and LOOT with a relatively large Load Order and they do 95% of the job. The other 5% are super minor things that I fix in LOOT (like sorting rules) or xEdit (like forwarding changes). But even if I didn't, there would be no problem with my game.
I hope someone's issues might get resolved when taking these steps. Have a good day everyone!
Incredible mod, installed and endorsed, but the second image on this modpage shows a tree clipping straight through the Falkreath barracks, also present in game. I'll look to update with a quick patch reducing some clipping flora like this.
I'll never see places like Winterhold and Falk the same after having this mod, probably one of the best ones out there when it comes to fixing the look of these minor cities. <3
There is no non-owned bed in Dead Man's Drink inn to sleep in after renting a room. The last room on the second floor appears to be missing a bed which might be the one you are supposed to use.
I just had a very interesting start that showed me where the missing bed might be!
Using Alternate start - live another life with also some additional options. Not sure if it's a regular or extended option, but I chose "patron of an inn - dead man's drink" to check out the mods I've installed for Falkreath (this being one of them)
I somehow spawned outside of the interior into the void and was constantly falling and being reset to my starting point, so I could see from a distance the interior design and lo and behold, in the middle of nowhere is a lone bed keeping me company in the void :D
Note: I haven't installed any patches for this mod yet, so hopefully it'll be sorted once I do.
https://imgur.com/a/GDhY2PW The stairs to the jarls house are all screwed up. Is this due to me using the great cities of jks north?
They comments all mention landscape and grass mods, which i disabled and it still didnt work. The others talk about lux which i dont have. I thought maybe it was fabled forest and took it out but it did nothing. So im confused. You can see here that i disabled fabled forests and the stairs and upper floor are missing: https://imgur.com/a/GbOmHNK
I have floating grass after you enter the gate with the 2 watchtowers leading to the Jarl's longhouse. I have Landscape grass fixes, Folk and 3d landscapes.
Use console to figure out which mod moves your sings. From what i see its "Skyking Unique Signs" , there is a patch for it in COTN Falkreath Patch Hub, which you probably dont have. ALWAYS use a patch hub mod for an overhaul mod you are going to install if there is such patch hub on nexus. LINK
While in the city, my game just crashes. I used to play with this mod and didn't notice such a problem, but now I'm going to play on version 1.6.1170. I have a fairly large list of mods, but I installed the necessary patches and it didn't help me, the game crashes anyway, and before that I tried without patches. But I also got departures. Does anyone know what the reason is? I even tried installing different versions of the mod.
